Loving the Lazy Lookout ⚓️Beachview/Access and Pet Friendly⚓️4BR, 2 BA

The Lazy Lookout has the perfect location for everyone! It has breathtaking views of the ocean and Ocean Crest Pier. Right across the street from the 9th street beach access, which allows you to step onto the beach in 30 seconds :) Also, the house is located right across the street from the 9th street walkway which is by far my favorite spot to watch the sunset and the Davis Canal!

The house itself has a beautiful front porch with a porch swing and rocking chairs, the perfect coffee spot for your friends and family! The crowd favorite is your own personal bar, The Lazy Lookout Lounge. This unique outdoor area comes with a full-sized refrigerator, an ice machine, and even a 60 inch smart TV.

Also, we have provided surfboards, boogie boards, loads of sand toys, and beach games to make sure you get the most out of Oak Island! There is also free wifi, smart tv's, and board games for when you want to relax inside. We ask that you bring your own sheets and towels or there is an option to add linen services 30 days before your arrival. The linen service includes fresh sheets and towels for the price of $150. If you find that during your stay you need fresh clothes or towels there is a laundry room downstairs for your use. It is supplied with laundry detergent and dryer sheets! Our Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need! However, we do not have a dishwasher, but plan on adding that next winter. Our number one goal is for you to have one of the best vacations yet, and to feel completely at home!

Great stay! Location is perfect: across the street from the beach access and less than 10 minutes to downtown stores and restaurants. House is well equipped with board games and TVs for rainy days. We will stay here again!

Tranquil living

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The house is great but we felt the best feature was the porch where our dog could be with us. We had a beautiful breeze and we could see the beach at the same time. We spent many an afternoon out there and evening. But we can't forget about that ice machine. That was a bonus. We didn't have to worry about ice. It was a hotel size ice machine. We had a lovely time.

1 block from the Beach, with Ocean views from the Balcony. We loved the downstairs Bar area for watching TV and enjoying the evening air. Awesome Ice Machine. Overall just a wonderful place for a Family to stay.

Great property! Located next to beach access, grill, basement area WITH huge ice maker! Condiments available. We always cook while at beach and eat out once, could use some upgraded frying pans but overall everything was furnished. Had a great stay!

Very comfortable and cozy house. Location was great! Loved the front porch and the kitchen table was great for our big family meals. The ice machine was an added bonus. Right across from beach access.

Awesome location

This, is an awesome location. The bar looks out onto the beach access meaning that you can greet fellow beach goers with an alcoholic beverage on their return. The management was flexible and responsive. They gave great suggestions. We had a good time.

Fabulous time!

This home is very comfortable with lots of great amenities. We especially enjoyed the porch in the morning with great sunrise and close proximity to the beach access as well as the boardwalk over the marsh with stunning sunsets. I am hoping to go again next year! Owner was great to respond.

Spring Break 2024

When looking for a place to take my family for spring break, I stumbled open the Lazy Lookout, glad I did. This place had everything we needed, from being pet friendly which was a huge deal for us. To its location being directly across the street from the beach to all the amenities the house itself offered. Leah was a pleasure to deal with as a host. She honored all of our requests before we even arrived and was very prompt to respond if I had a question. I will definitely book this place again in the future.

Absolutely perfect for our family

This house was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very short walk to the beach and many conveniences and small touches included to make our stay excellent. So nice to be able to enjoy the time together as a family as well as some time together but separate as a family (made possible by the layout of the house). The “bar” below was such a cozy place. The owners definitely put the thought into making our stay comfortable and it showed!! Leah was fantastic in her communications, and it was so obvious she wanted us to enjoy our time spent there. We will definitely be back!

North Carolina Family Vacation

Property was in a great location. Loved the front porch with rockers and shade. The ice maker was a bonus. Check in was easy. Some things listed about the property were not entirely accurate. The kitchen needs a deep clean. Cleaning service did not do their job. There was leftover coffee in the coffee pot, the air fryer had food and grease in it. There was food stuck on cooking sheet pans for the oven. Cob webs around light fixtures and ceilings. Grill was filty and falling apart. The dryer was broken, but the owner did replace it so we had something to use. This was a positive. Thank you!Overall, we had a good week, first impressions are important.I would recommend if the place was cleaned and some updates were made.

Disappointed

We arrived to a home that had clearly not been cleaned. The trash in one of the bathrooms was overflowing. Not the owners’s fault, as guests are directed to empty the trash before departure. The floors had not been swept or vacuumed in a long time. So we vacuumed, filling up the canister with dirt and dust. The pots and pans had a layer of grease and had to be washed before using. I have no doubt the kitchen counters or bathrooms had not been cleaned in some time. Now, let’s talk about the roach and fly infestation, the hoarders’ paradise you had to work your way through to get to the washer/dryer, and the crazy unlevel floors and walls. The hole in the bedroom door, the broken board hanging from the bed visibly, and the door handle falling off the bedroom door. The only thing going for this house is the location and the ice machine. The owner really needs to hire an exterminator, cleaners that actually clean and keep a better eye on the property. I’ve really never stayed in a property that I was so disappointed in.

Summer fun

My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at this perfect home! My kids' enjoyed the easy process of walking across the street to the beach! The house was amazing. The best best thing ever is the bar and the ice maker!! You can not beat it! we spent every night hanging out downstairs watching baseball playing football in the yard and enjoying each other! we will be back!!

Great place for the family

We loved this place. It had something for everyone. Not only was beach access right across the street, the home was comfortable and had multiple spaces for family to enjoy: porch, downstairs yard for playing games, downstairs rec room for the teens to watch TV late at night was awesome. The open air bar was a fun touch as well for hanging out and talking while family members playing games in the yard. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would love to see a dishwasher added but it was no big deal… We just got the teenagers to wash dishes. 😀 and I loved that there was streets in the back to ride bikes on away from traffic.

My family and I have been coming to Oak Island for as long as I can remember! My great-grandma bought a place on the intercostal in the 1960s long before there were even paved roads. Ever since then, "OAKI" has become a second home to us. Our favorite things to do on the Island are biking, paddleboarding, walking on the access, and just enjoying time with our friends and family. We are a huge fan of fresh seafood and find ourselves visiting Hag and Son Seafood for red snapper at least once a week!

I have the pleasure of living on the Island this summer which means I am a bike ride away to help you with anything you may need. This includes anything from maintenance, to being your guide on the island. I would love to arrange a bike ride through the town or give you a tour of the intercostal from our paddleboards and kayaks. Anything at all I am happy to assist!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

One day walking to the beach from the 9th street beach access we saw the Lazy Lookout was for sale. After, we purchased the house, and it is has been a lot of work, but we wouldn't trade it for anything. In that short year span, the house has transformed and been completely renovated! We have fallen in love with this quaint cottage, and we are sure you will too! Our favorite part is definitely the Lazy Lounge, and find ourselves sitting at this spot for hours. It has the perfect breeze that allows you to sit outside even during the hottest summer days.
