Cancellation Policy:
Your rental agreement contract's cancellation policy states that we are not responsible for events beyond our control, such as hurricanes. We strongly encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance, especially "cancel for any reason" policies, which must be purchased shortly after your reservation is made.

Renovation Note:
As the Melrose Resort is in transition, guests may notice some deterioration in resort-owned buildings. However, renovation efforts are underway, and our vacation cottages remain in well-maintained areas, continuing to be extremely popular.

This property allows only electric golf carts.

Guest Access:
Other benefits of this exceptional vacation home include a gas grill, an outdoor hot/cold water shower, fiber optics high-speed internet, smart TV's in bedrooms and main room and beach chairs and beach toys are provided.

Getting Around:
IMPORTANT: DAUFUSKIE ISLAND HAS NO BRIDGE, AND IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE A FERRY OR WATER TAXI TO GET HERE. YOU WILL LEAVE YOUR CAR ON THE OTHER SIDE AND RENT A GOLF CART TO GET AROUND THE ISLAND.

Other Things to Note:
Please note that it is necessary to take a boat to Daufuskie Island. Costs vary depending on the service you choose, but on average you should plan on about $65-$100 per person roundtrip for both boat & ground transportation. (Marina parking fees may also apply.) Golf cart rates vary from $55-85 per day per cart.
