What a fabulous villa and location for a great getaway.
Villa Leona is situated as if itâs in the middle of nowhere and yet is within easy reach of many villages and Dubrovnik itself.
Itâs an oasis of calm where you can forget about the world,.
The villa itself was perfectly equipped for hosting a family of three generations. The pool was the perfect accompaniment for the glorious weather and the views are breathtaking with the colours around changing daily.
The bedrooms of the villa are spread around nicely meaning that we werenât on top of each other.
It was a beautiful well maintained property and the glorious Azra made sure we had everything we could need and more.
The whole family (from 72 to 8) would recommend staying here as it was idyllic. We were close enough to beaches and amenities whilst also being able to relax in an undistirbed paradise.
We visited Dubrovnik, Cavtat, Gruda and Cillipi which were all in close proximity. They had great facilities and the restaurants offered outstanding local cuisine On leaving the airport we arrived at the villa within 30 minutes which was ideal after a long day travelling.

Beautifully peaceful villa near the Montenegro
Only 30 minutes easy drive from Dubrovnik Airport, heading south towards Montenegro, the Villa was easy to find once we understood the directions. Set in the shadow of the mountains in a rural hamlet, the villa is wonderfully peaceful, with one small house nearby, which was unoccupied during the week and only used at the weekend.
The Villa was surrounded by a field and goats were our only neighbours most of the time.
We were met by the wonderful Azra, who has excellent English, and she gave us a tour of the villa, which was immaculately clean and tidy.
There were two bedrooms upstairs one with an outside balcony area with enough room for tables and chairs, the other bedroom was large and well appointed. There was a shared bathroom and separate toilet for these rooms.
Downstairs, there was the master bedroom with dressing room and though to an ensuite shower room.
A very well equipped kitchen and breakfast area, although we always ate outside next to the pool. There was also a separate lounge area which also had another dining table (never used). In the lounge was a large television, connected to satellite.
There were also two bicycles to borrow, but sadly one had a puncture and no way to repair.
Outside the pool area was very spacious and there was a table tennis table with bats and balls.
The villa, although slightly quirky in layout was perfect for our family of 6 and everyone had a comfortable time.
The nearest supermarket is a 20 minute drive, so you need plan your shopping to make sure you are not popping out the whole time.
The closest (and almost only) sandy beach was only 10 minutes drive away in the car, but was small and pretty busy at times. It is hard to find sandy beaches in south Croatia, unless you hire a boat and go exploring.
Cavtat was just beyond the airport going north, and this was great for eating out, walking the harbour, and fantastic ice creams. You also hire boats and get the water taxi to Dubrovnik, about 1 hour by water taxi.
In summary, Azra was fantastic, and always available at the end of the phone if we had any questions or problems, the Villa was perfect for our holiday and we would recommend this for a relaxing family holiday.
Great house with nice swimming pool but car needed
We, two families with 4 kids together, rented this house for 10 days in July. The house including the pool is great and spacious. Three toilets and showers indoors is excellent for two families - no waiting times. Aircondition is working well in the living area. It could be better in the sleeping rooms upstairs as they get quite warm during hot summer days. Kids had lots of fun spending most of the time in the pool during we had been physically in the house. A rental car is a must as the house is located in a not highly populated area without nearby shops. The surrounding area is beautiful and our most visited places had been Cavtat and Monulat which are very nice.
All over we really can recommend this house. The service in case something breaks is excellent (e.g. waterventil for dishwasher was replaced very fast). In case you want to spent time mostly in Croatia you do not need to wait substantial amount of time at the boarder crossings compared to cheaper housing options in Bosnia or Montenegro.
The description of this villa is absolutely accurate. Well placed, about 30 minutes straightforward drive from the airport at Dubrovnik. Azra Saric, the owners agent met us to show the way and could not have been more helpful. The villa was spotless with loads of room for 2 older teenagers and 2 adults - could have easily managed our 3rd teenager who couldn't come at the last minute. The pool and terrace were perfect - lots of time spent just sitting in the evening listening to the crickets and enjoying the light change and the peace. Air conditioning downstairs for nighttime was a welcome bonus, but the teenagers survived without any complaints upstairs, without air conditioning. Beach towels for use and washing machine also very welcome.
Lots of activities available within a 20 - 40 minute drive, but also lovely little beach at Prevlaka 5 minutes in car from the house with beach cafe and views across to Montenegro. We had a fairly lazy week but still managed 4 beaches, day trip to Dubrovnik and a trip to Montenegro. Azra provided information on lots of current activities and restaurants and was available all week, which was a real help. A lovely villa in a great location - quiet but accessible. A really good option for families with teenagers who want to mix activity with independent space. Highly recommended, and really well organised. Thank you Azra - I would love to come back and explore more!
If you want to be surrounded by mountains, five minutes drive from the beach, serenaded by crickets, sung to by swifts and wake to the sight and sound of goats grazing in the next field, then this superbly equipped villa with pool, bikes, table tennis, badminton sets, wifi, and excellent kitchen and laundry facilitiesis for you! Situated in the beautiful Konvale region, with its well developed agro-tourism, this villa offers a rural idyll for a family of any age. Our three late teenage children loved it. Peaceful and beautiful, Vitalinya is the last village in Croatia before you get to Montenegro (itself easy to access and full of lovely seaside places. You have to hire a car as the nearest supermarket is 15km away, although it is well stocked with friendly staff. Magibal medieval Dubrovnik is only 42 Km away, with all its attractions, and the roads are easy driving. The highlights of the stay were the frequent small coves with shingle beaches and perfect warm seas, peaceful enough to allow long distance swimming from early to late. An abundance of water sports in both Dubrovnnik and Catvat. Everyone we met in Croatia was so helpful, and the homekeeper responsible for looking after guests, Azra saric, was unbelievably supportive and helpful. My wife and our 19,16 and 14 year old would all be happy to return. We got the most rest and the best suntans ever. And if you ever want to know what medieval Europe must have looked like, a visit to Dubrovnik and an excursion to Ston and its fortified walls will take you back there. Magical, tranquil, modern and friendly, Croatia is an ideal holiday for couples, families, friends, food and wine buffs, outdoor sporting or sea enthusiasts. Cannot rate it highly enough.
This is a lovely spacious villa for a family seeking some peace and quiet yet with beaches, stunning scenery and amenities only a short drive away.
The villa would be only 30 - 40 minute drive from Dubrovnik airport but we came via Tivat airport in Montenegro which was a slightly longer drive but very beautiful. The property actually sits just over the border in Croatia but is ideally placed for exploring the bay of Kotor in Montenegro and driving up to Dubrovnik.
The villa is modestly furnished inside though has everything you will need including a gas BBQ for outside cooking. There is a table tennis table with ample room to play indoors when you need a shade break from the sunny poolside. Ground floor air conditioning proved to be essential, although upstairs rooms were much warmer with no AC and heat build up. Opening windows meant a bug patrol before bedtime each night! The pool and terrace area is lovely with plenty of sun loungers and table and chairs for outside dining. There is also a terrace off a first floor bedroom which gets the sun in the evening when its gone from the pool area and provides shade at breakfast time when the pool area is already hot. The pool is a good size for a family and allows for a little light exercise as well as plenty of fun. Its not heated but when we were there in June / July it was a nice temperature.
You will need to have a car for this property and if you want to explore both Croatia and Montenegro (you'd be mad not to with the location) you will need to arrange a green card (41 euros) from the car hire company. You'll also need to be prepared to show passports at the local border crossing which usually just takes 5 mins (waited once on a busy Sat for 20 mins).
There is plenty of beautiful coastline, mostly stony beaches with beautiful clear blue sea ideal for snorkeling, with shoals of small fish and a few larger fish, hermit crabs etc to see.
The property has a washing machine & dryer so we were able to change bedding and wash towels while there, There are plenty of towels provided including beach towels, There are also a couple of bikes but we found it a bit too hot to do anything too energetic. That said we would highly recommend the sunset sea kayak from Dubrovnik old town around Lokrum Island. Azra, the owners' agent, was incredibly helpful, both on the phone prior to the holiday, meeting us on arrival at the property and being on call during our stay, to answer questions and help with minor concerns.
