This is a newly updated and modernized 3BR 3BA cabin settled right on a private bay on Pickerel Lake in Saint Germain, WI. All furniture, appliances, and interior design is all brand new and not a single feature was overlooked in the renovation of this home. Located just a couple miles from downtown Saint Germain. This cabin is just 200 yards from hiking, ATV/UTV, and snowmobile trails.
Less than 2 miles away are public boat ramps for Pickerel Lake. Rainbow Flowage with public boat ramp is only 500 yards away, too! The cabin has new patio furniture with fire pit and propane grill. Beautiful views in a quiet bay with little recreational boaters. There is a canoe for use, free of charge, to explore the Lake as well!
This property is extraordinarily ideal for a family vacation or simply a weekend getaway for smaller couples. This cabin will exceptionally accommodate parties of up to 6.
The cabin is beautiful. Great location right on the water with a great place to fish. Everyone in the family had a great time. Hopefully we make it back next year.
Beautiful home and the owners were great to work with! Everything that we needed was provided. Our kids had a great time whether swimming in the lake or catching fish off the pier(which they caught lots!). We had a great time. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had and were very flexible. Would most defiantly stay at this property again!
6 of us enjoyed our stay on an annual 4th of July getaway. The house worked well for 3 couples & had all we needed. As others have mentioned, the road noise is significant though there's little traffic overnight. And as we explored the lake in our boat & kayaks the road noise faded - and the lake & natural surroundings are just beautiful - eagles, loons, muskrat, etc. Thank you!
A relaxing getaway in the North Woods, moderate size fishing lake, easy to navigate, private setting
A relaxing getaway in the North Woods, moderate size fishing lake, easy to navigate, private setting, great community with everything you need close by.
Seamless booking and efficient communication. The house was exceptionally clean, welcoming and cozy. Plus the beds are extremely comfortable. Also having all the amenities that this house has was perfect for a relaxing vacation. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The locations ideal because itâs nice and quiet but a close drive to the towns. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely book again.
My wife and I shared this lake home for a fall retreat with our son, daughter-in-law and nine year old grandson. This tow story home overlooked a bay on Pickeral Lake. The views of the fall colors from the bedroom windows and the 3 Season room were extraordinary. The home was in excellent condition a fit our needs perfectly. The only less than ideal feature was how close it is to a county trunk highway with the driveway entrance located on the highway curve. Obviously, this is not a controllable situation but we adapted to it easily. It was very comfortable, the bedding was very nice and was very nice overall.
We just stayed 5 nights at this property and had such a great experience. Cabin has a great layout - we went with another family. Lots of evenings enjoyed on the 3 seasons porch. It was very clean and well stocked with pillows, bedding, dishes and everything we needed. Location is great. It is close to the road, but we were expecting that and it honestly didnât bother us at all. We loved how close to St Germain it is. Only takes 5 minutes to get to the grocery store and restaurants. Cathyâs ice cream was a huge hit with our kids. The lake is wonderful. Large, but quiet and has a great sandbar. Highly recommend this property. Family who owns it is wonderful and great with communication.
This home is perfect for just about everything you could want to spend your time doing in the Northwoods. The home itself is comfortable, clean, and very well-appointed. The location makes trips into Saint Germain & Minocqua a breeze, and the lake is sits on is both beautiful and very easy to access via the public launch. If you do have a large trailer and more than one vehicle, you will need to do a bit of pre-planning. We simply pulled in off the road with our boat, unhooked it from the truck, and then spun it around by hand so we weren't forced to back in or out (which btw you absolutely can do both). Because the road curves just beyond the driveway, we did this for both ease and safety (but again not 100% necessary). Having rented well over 20 homes in this area over the past 10 years, I would absolutely stay at this home again. Great getaway spot with ease of access to many lakes, great food and drink options, and also very central to many of the towns in both Vilas and Oneida counties.
We loved the charm of the beautiful house. The appliances looked brand new and the bed was increcidbly comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the "sunroom" and the outside covered patio.
However, and this is the MAJOR problem with the property. It is right on a VERY busy road and the noise is horrific. We head to northern WI to peace and quiet. When we booked, the vast majority of the reviews were incredibly positive with little about the noise. I'm not certain if that is an algorithm. When the noise abated for a few seconds, it was astounding what this property does not have, the sounds of loons, cicadas, the sound of water lapping at the dock.
Sadly, as wonderful as the owners and house are, I cannot recommend this property and believe the price is way out of proportion to other much more restful places we have rented.
*Hands-down, the best cabin weâve rented in the past 11 years!*
Weâve been coming up north for over a decade, and this cabin on Picklel Lake has quickly become our favorite. The lake is perfect for our family, with plenty of panfish for the kids to catch right off the dock. The dockâs location was ideal, protected from waves and perfect for our rented pontoon boat.
The cabin itself was immaculate and well-maintained, comfortably fitting our family of four plus two grandparents. We did notice a bit of road noise, but it didnât bother us at all. Overall, a fantastic experienceâweâll definitely be back!
We had everything we needed at this well stocked and well equipped home, which worked well for our ATV'ing trip. The only drawback was the small parking area for two pickups with trailers. We had to back in off a busy county road, but we managed.
Overall, it was a comfortable place for three couples to spend time together. We had plenty of space to spread out. The house appeared to be clean, but it didn't have that fresh clean smell. The few down falls: 1. road noise was pretty loud even inside the house which was annoying in the middle of the night. 2. the kitchen could have been more organized. Kitchen towels were located in the bathroom cabinets instead of in the kitchen. No oven mitt was ever found so had to make do with a towel. 3. Lastly, the top bunk bed in the bedroom had grit or sand in it. A big plus is just getting out onto the beautiful lake Pickerel.
Place needed a deep cleaning. Many personal items out. Not really set up for renters. Number of beds/mattresses and bathrooms were good. A book of information about the place would have been welcome.
Property was great. The water was clean and pretty clear. The water depth off of the end of the dock was just the right depth for our young kids. The dock accommodated our pontoon just fine. The lake is just the right size, not big, but not too small where you can't tube, ski, etc. And there is a sand bar area to hang out at. The boat launch handled our big pontoon that is set higher on a bunk trailer. The house was great, clean, and had everything that we needed. The patio space was excellent. Not a big yard but it worked for us, and the fire pit got used every night. I have a pretty long vehicle and boat trailer setup and the driveway was plenty long and wide to accommodate all vehicles we had. You will need to be careful pulling in and out because the driveway is sort of a blind driveway, it enters the road at a rounding corner. So if you're bringing a boat/trailer you will want to come to the house from the North and then back in so that you can easily pull out forward instead of trying to back out onto the road when you leave. Owner quickly replied to questions, was very accommodating!
The property is located on a noisy highway. When sitting by the campfire or even in the house, you hear every car or truck that goes by. Not the quiet Northwoods get away we were hoping for.
Beside the noise, the house was nice. Furniture was comfortable and beds were nice. Internet worked well.
This is a beautiful home. We especially enjoyed the sunroom & patio area overlooking the lake. The owner responded to our questions in a very timely manner. Looking forward to renting here again.
