Charming and spacious 2-story, 3-bedroom house located at 40 Oak Street in Boothbay Harbor (you can google map the address and click "street view" to view the house, property and neighborhood). Just a 5-minute leisurely stroll to the harbor, restaurants and shops, the house has high grand ceilings and comfortable beds. There is a big deck with a grill and fabulous views of the bucolic surroundings. There is also a nice sunroom with stunning views of historic Oak Street. Parking is an ongoing issue in downtown Boothbay Harbor, but not here. We have ample parking for 3 vehicles.

We spent three nights at this location, which is just a short walk from the commercial area of Boothbay Harbor. In addition to restaurants in town it is only minutes away from Robinson's Wharf, which had some of the best food we experienced in 14 days of travel - definitely the best lobster. The house was as advertised and suited our needs well.

We love the sun room as a play area, the deck for dining, and the roomy and well-equipped kitchen. Being right in town removes the hassle of parking and lets you walk all around Boothbay and the harbor.

Great place, great location!

The house was in a great location, close to restaurants and shops. We walked downtown. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabbage island clambake trip.

Excellent location with large rooms and comfortable furnishings. This was our 2nd stay as we thoroughly enjoyed our previous one 2 years ago. Ample parking and an easy walk to shops and restaurants.

Perfect spot for our weekday get away. Walking distance to all the locations we needed. I would suggest an updated photo of the exterior of the property. We drove by ans missed the driveway,because the property was very unlike the image posted.

Location Location Location

We had a wonderful two nights at this gem. Just a short walk to downtown, we were able to easily do some shopping and sightseeing. Our first night we barbecued on the deck, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. May places to chill out at this home, great seating and tables for playing games as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to choose this home again!!

Best in Boothbay

It was our third time staying on this property...the beds are so comfortable we didn't want to leave...the house is located a nice distance from town...a quick 5 minute walk...just far enough away you don't hear any in town noises at night..sunrises in the porch or dining room are beautiful...already planning our next trip there

Nice House in a Great Location

My family was very happy with our stay. The house was pleasant, clean, and well-maintained. The hosts were easy to reach with any questions, and were happy to share info about the Boothbay area. If you want to stay in Boothbay, you can't beat the location -- it's a quck walk to the center of town.

Great spot for couples getaway

Fantastic location perched on a hill just above Boothbay Harbor, short walk down the hill to everything. We loved the kitchen and the deck space. One thing to note that wasn't disclosed in the listing is the deck is a shared space with a tenant who lives next door, we only saw them once when they complained that we had put our trash in the wrong can. Shared spaces should always be disclosed up front. Bedrooms were all very comfortable, and house is nicely renovated. Would definitely stay again!

There is no shared space. There is a cottage on the property that we Airbnb. However, both units have there own private deck space that is not visible to the other. Also, the entire yard off the deck and firepit are reserved exclusively for guests of the Francis Green House. 2 garbage cans are located on the porch of the main entrance while the cottage has its own can. The guest must have thought that the cottage was part of the house and used the cottage garbage can for some reason

Good location, walking distance to town. Great deck with privacy. Nice back yard with a fire pit nicely landscaped. Would recommend and we would definitely stay again. Beds were all comfortable. Our family truly enjoyed the stay. Only one issue our stay just wasn’t long enough!!

this is the second year we have stayed at this house. it is the perfect location, a 5 minute walk to town. the house itself is everything the website says it is, it is great. the owner david is very helpful and always answers any questions right away. i would highly recommend this house.

Great location and good size house

We had a lovely stay in Boothbay Harbor. The house is very conveniently located walking distance to the center of town and the ferries. The kitchen, with bbq, was easy to use for cooking. Bedrooms were comfortable. The living room furniture could use a refresh, but was functional. David was also very responsive.

Good location

Overall the house was ok. It’s in a great location to walk to shops and restaurants. The toilet in one bathroom had not been cleaned in a while and the shower in the downstairs bathroom had obviously not been cleaned before our stay. Not filthy but obviously missed during any pre arrival cleaning. Beds were comfortable and parking was no problem at the house. Overall not a bad house, but cleaning service needs to be addressed.

Challenging

Apparently the previous tenants damaged the property. The place was not clean, furniture is outdated, the main TV would not work per the instructions, and the dishwasher was broken. It took some effort but the owner replaced the TV remote and tried to fix the DW but was unable. Somehow we missed the fact that it is NOT air conditioned.

The house is always clean as my reviews indicate. The bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans and there is usually a nice breeze from the ocean even in July and August. Very few Mainers in Boothbay Harbor have air conditioning because it seldom is needed. The furniture is high end Ethan Allen antique from the 1970's in living room as that was the look I was going for. The diswasher and TV remote was broken by the previous guests which my handyman remedied immediately.

Unclean

Although owners were kind, property seemed to have been in the midst of cleaning when cleaner left. Garbage had been left on the porch and dirty linens left in a bag in the kitchen. Appliances hadn’t been cleaned, there was evidence of rodents, and bed linens had stains. When we arrived, the door with the lockbox was double locked, and we were not able to get in until we discovered that the side doors had been left unlocked. This all left us feeling unsafe. We decided not to stay and were issued a full refund.

We had a woman who wasn’t working at all and left the house a mess. We have since hired a professional agency
