Just got back from a lovely weekend at lost leet mill. 8 adults stayed in perfect comfort.
Set amid breath taking countryside, a beautifully renovated and tastefully furnished house
We, (five friends) very much enjoyed our 3 night stay at Lost Leet Mill and were impressed by the ways in which original features of the mill have been thoughtfully incorporated into the design of the house. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved spending time talking, reading and relaxing in the attractive and comfortable sitting room. We thought that the garden was delightful and we were only sorry that the weather prevented us from making more use of it.
The house is spacious and the wooden floors add to its appeal, however, we think that the step up to the twin bedroom on the second floor needs to be highlighted in some way as it is steep and both occupants of the room tripped over it and fell during our stay.
We liked having 3 bathrooms although we found the stylish rolled top baths in the en-suite and first floor bathroom to be difficult to get into and out of when taking a shower.
The beds are very comfortable and the built-in wardrobe in the lovely master bedroom is useful, however, there are no wardrobes in the other bedrooms, which wasn't too much of an issue for us but might be for guests staying for longer.
The location of the house was perfect for us as we wanted to visit Ludlow and the surrounding area. We liked browsing around the shops, galleries and good market in Ludlow and very much enjoyed our visit to Croft Castle. We also really liked hearing about and sampling some of the local produce at the Ludlow Food Centre.
We had a very pleasant long week-end and looked forward to returning to the house after our days out.
Beautiful house in an idealic location
Beautiful house set in gorgeous countryside. If you like nature then you will love it here! We had a heron in the garden, a couple of resident cats visit us and chickens, turkeys and ducks up the lane. The house was plenty big enough for us all, 4 adults and 3 children. Well equipped and comfortable. The garden was beautiful, especially sitting down at the summerhouse overlooking the pond.
Fantastic property and fantastic area
Beautiful property and had a great weekend celebrating a family birthday.
Loved the house and the setting
Despite the soggy weather, we very much enjoyed our stay. The setting was great - thousands of daffs lining the lane, black swans on the pond. Was ideal for hosting friends for a 60th birthday. Would echo a previous guest by suggesting that a large teapot would be a good addition to the kitchen. And there was no stereo...
Beautiful barn conversion in rural Shropshire.
The barn is beautifully furnished with plenty of space and only 8 miles from the pretty town of Ludlow. Surrounded by picturesque grounds. The children enjoyed watching the turkeys and doves! Despite the extreme weather conditions ( foot of snow which arrived overnight) the large log burner kept us warm! All great, although we could have done with better directions at the end of our journey as we arrived late at night and it was hard to identify the final turning/ various cottages. I would definitely recommend this lovely property.
