Both hosts were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. My friend and I stayed here after the TS concert in Vancouver, which was a pretty short drive from their location in Richmond. Private bathroom just outside the room and a key to lock your door as well. Would love to stay here again!
Tatinia and Michael looked after us very with clear instructions how to get there from the city, the bus stop to connect with the train to the city is outside there front door if inn Vancouver again we would have no hesitation in staying there again
Great place with everything you need inside your room. Tatiana is a great hosts and will always share the best advice.
It has a bus stop just right in front, 30min walking from the train station.
I would totally recommend!
No kitchen access, everything packed in a fairly enough room (microwave, coffee maker and tablewares) but what can you ask for with this hostel room price tag. Always remember you have roommates around (never leave the door unlocked even till before you leave cause I was questioned about missing mugs and table cloths which was never used, lol
I wanted to drop my bags off early and Tatiana made it easy to do so. I was given the key and was able to check in earlier than the stated time. The room is nice - bed is comfy, there's a fridge, a kettle, a microwave and dishes if you want to make some food. The bathroom is not attached but it is just outside the door. I did not realize they were renting out another room as well. I still had a private bathroom so I was fine with it. Location was wonderful - down the street from Garden City Centre. There's a bus stop next to the house so it's easy to get around on public transit. Hosts were friendly and available if I needed anything. I'd stay here again.
The property is located in a lovely, quiet and safe neighborhood, and the hosts (Tatiana & Michael) are absolutely delightful. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, the mattress and bed pillows were comfortable and supportive, and having a microwave in the room was a terrific extra touch. There's a mini-mall within a few blocks of the house (the Save A Lot supermarket and Blender's coffee shop were especially appreciated), a pharmacy, Church's Chicken restaurant and assorted other establishments are also on the premises. Downtown Vancouver is easily reachable in about 30 minutes by car (rental or Uber), and public transportation via bus and/or SkyTran is straightforward. If using the latter, best value is to purchase a single or multi-day pass (we did single at $11.25 ea.) from the local pharmacy. Buses were clean and drivers were patient and helpful in getting our bearings. Visit Steveston Village and the local Fish Market if you have time in Richmond, fun and relaxing while a nice change of pace from crowded, busy downtown Vancouver. Having said all that, the best part of choosing this place is the hosts. They treated my wife and I as family or close friends, even made us breakfast one day, and provided helpful tips regarding public transportation options and local attractions. Highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again should the occasion arise!
My name is Tatiana. My husband and I have lived in this house for about 15 years and love our neighborhood. I am working in a medical field and in my spare time love spending time in nature, walking, cooking, spending time with friends and traveling. We are very friendly and love hosting guests.
Our house is in a safe residential area, close to public transport (a bus stop in front of our house; a minute walk to the nearest shopping area; 10 minutes away by bus from Richmond Center Mall and sky train station. The bedroom is large and bright and has all you need for your stay.
