3000 sq ft home - Private 25 acres on a river - 45 min from Milwaukee or Madison
The Miller House is on 25 acres on a river. There are walking trails, fishing and kayaking or just relax with an awesome view of the Honey Creek river. There is a real Train Caboose and a vintage passenger station from the Milwaukee Electric Railroad. The property is 2 miles from downtown Burlington, 15 miles from Lake Geneva, 35 miles from Milwaukee, and 1.5 hours from Chicago. This is very private. No other houses in view. This is a great place to have a retreat and reconnect.
House was beautiful and for the most part we enjoyed our stay. However;1. Freight trains came through what seemed like every hour throughout the day and night blowing their horn as it passed. Tracks were 30ft from the house so impossible to ignore the noise. Reminded me of the movie My Cousin Vinney.2. Did not have full use of house. Many doors were locked and garage was not accessible. Usually when I rent a house, I expect to be able to access the entire house minus an owner's closet. Not just parts of it.3, All windows in living/kitchen area were unopenable which made it difficult to vent the house after cooking.
This was the perfect house for a family wedding weekend. The house is spacious, large bedrooms and open kitchen plan. The grounds are beautiful overlooking Honey Creek. Ill be recommending this location to all my friends.
Beautiful House in a Secluded Setting On Honey Creek
I was in town for seven days to visit family and attend a wedding. I was the only one staying at the Miller House but l had LOTS of family members that came to visit over the course of that week. To a person, everyone said the house was beautiful, and marveled at the view of Honey Creek from the open kitchen and living room. There is plenty of water frontage to fish, and lots of room to walk around and explore the property. I saw deer on the lawn during my first day and saw herons and egrets and ducks and muskrats in and around Honey Creek every day. Leaving the property in the morning or coming back in the afternoon, I commonly saw deer, turkeys, and sandhill cranes in fields near the road. This is a great place to come to watch nature in the seclusion of a wooded property. There is train traffic near the house, but that is something that I quickly became accustomed to. Jennifer Miller is a very attentive host, responding to any questions I had within minutes of me asking them. I look forward to staying here again.
It was our first time coming to Wisconsin. My newly married son and his wife live in Burlington. I saw this home and it had enough beds for my teenagers and was close to Burlington. The pictures on this listing donât do the property justice. Itâs absolutely beautiful inside and out. The hosts were so friendly and quick to respond when I had questions. 100% recommend this home! We loved our stay.
