Leatherbury Point: chambres d'hôtes

Maison d'hôtes au bord de l'eau sur Onancock Creek, à cinq minutes de la charmante ville d'Onancock, en Virginie. Conçue par l'architecte Lewis Rightmier, la maison bénéficie d'une vue spectaculaire sur l'eau de chaque pièce, d'une piscine, d'un quai avec deux cales pour le kayak, la pêche et le crabe. Parfait pour la personne en plein air, ou se détendre dans les chaises Adirondack et regarder les voiliers entrer et sortir du ruisseau. Trouvez des festivités locales sur Chincoteague ou la Chambre de commerce de la côte est.

Bien que notre vue sur le front de mer et notre sculpture Turner originale perchée par la piscine privée, il sera difficile de quitter la propriété, à cinq minutes en voiture de la ville pittoresque d'Onancock, vous emmènera dans plusieurs boutiques, galeries d'art, restaurants et une incroyable boutique de beignets qui vous ne pourrez pas résister.

The kitchen filled all of our needs and was as listed. We did not use the pool due to it being mid October. It looked very inviting and the cabana was set to enjoy a pool day

If a picture says 1000 word then the pictures cannot speak enough. From our entry to our too early exit the property and hosts were flawless. No sirens, no horns just beautiful views and comfort. The property feels like a resort and compound, yet is only 5 minutes or so from town. We found our next vacation home, we will return in the spring. A long winters wait............

Amazing Guesthouse with pool-so relaxing!

We are returning guests, and we loved our stay even more than last time-as we were familiar with the property and Onancock. The views from the guesthouse and pool on the bay is unbeatable, the guesthouse is wonderful and offers us everything we need to fully relax. Best part is for sure the swimming pool, we used it everyday and the water was again enjoyable warm in August. We met again the owners, who are wonderful people, on our last day, and we already told them how much we love to vacation in their guesthouse and that we will be coming back again 2024!

Beautiful View

We really enjoyed the family/main room of the house. During the morning, nice to wake up with coffee and watch the fog over the water. In the evening, relaxing watching the sunset. In the evening, we settled in by the cozy fireplace. We were there during the fall, and the view of the changing leaves was breath taking.

Leatherbury Point is a beautiful, unique, waterfront property. The views are amazing, especially at sunset. The pool added to the stay and was clean (the pool technician came twice a week) and warm. The owners provided tubes and pool gear, which was awesome. And there's a pool house with a bathroom an indoor and an outdoor shower, which was a nice plus. There are two kayaks as well, which are easily launched down the hill next to the pool. You definitely want to take advantage of that opportunity.The guest house itself is well appointed and gorgeous, with floor to ceiling windows throughout. The kitchen is a kitchenette, but it was well stocked and had everything we needed. The home is maybe seven minutes to downtown Onancock, a charming little town with good restaurants, art boutiques, and eclectic shops, including our favorite, The Corner Bakery. The owner, Bekki, is easy to reach via text and will give you dining and site seeing recommendations if you ask.

Wow, what an incredible property! We had such a memorable stay. Taking the kayaks out each day was a highlight, especially getting to see so much marine life like jellyfish, crabs, and oysters. Our boys especially loved fishing off the dock every day and checking the crab pot. Such a fun and unique experience for them!The pool was our absolute favorite; clean, warm, and perfect for relaxing. The layout of the guest house was ideal for our family of five (2 adults and 3 children), offering plenty of privacy and space. We loved being able to unwind in the great room and watch TV in the evenings without worrying about waking the kids.The mini fridge had enough room to store our groceries for breakfasts and lunches, plus a few leftovers from dinner. We ordered takeout every night and enjoyed each place we tried.The location felt like a peaceful hidden gem; quiet and relaxing, yet just 10 minutes from stores and restaurants. The home was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like soap, coffee, and dish pods, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hosts were also very responsive and helpful throughout our visit.Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We would absolutely recommend it to others!

Relaxing vacations with amazing views on Chesapeake Bay-a special place!

We rented the Guesthouse for 13 days beginning August 2022. The pictures online are great, but in reality it was even much better. The property is very well maintained and managed by Emilee and the owners, whenever something came up we could reach them and get an answer within few hours. We really felt like sin good hands and at home in the guesthouse-with amazing water and pool views from almost every window! We were kayaking from the private small beach every day, so relaxing. We caught with the Crab trap at the boat dock every day some blue crabs and sometimes even some fish for dinner. The pool is the best part, its saltwater and heated by the sun-in August pretty warm water. Also, the property has amazing flowers, butterflies, birds...we really felt like in Nature and secluded (just be careful at Sunset at the small beach-there are some hungry sandflies in the evening). The WIFI first when we arrived was a bit spotty, but the Owner Scott had it fixed the same day and it was never anymore an issue. During our second week stay, we met the owners who are extremely nice people and very accommodating. They were very respectful about our privacy, but it was always nice to have some conversations inbetween. The place was perfect, but every place has some minor things which could potentially be improved. The combined kitchen fridge and freezer is very small (as in a hotel room). There was luckily another fridge next to the pool house, so we used it to store some of our extra food. Some extra freezer space would be helpful, but luckily we were bringing our own extra camping freezer with us. We ordered via Instacart food from the Food Food Lion store in town-and it was delivered within 2 hours, so next time no need to bring so many products with us. We really loved this property-it is really a special place-and are thankful to the owners to have had us as guests. While we were there, we already decided that we will be coming back next year and booked our stay already. We are looking forward for our next stay!

Lovely location and great house.

Everything was excellent, especially the quality of the home and the beautiful peacefulness of the location. My wife loved the pool. Will come back if we can. Everything just as described but overall setting is even nicer.

This was an incredible place! It was exactly what we were looking for.

The house had everything we needed. They even provided shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent and beach towels. They even left us a delicious bottle of wine, cheese and crackers. The house was clean and comfortable. The pool and views were the best part! We had a wonderful vacation and are already looking at planning our next stay for 2022. The property manager was easy to get in touch with and even left us a handwritten welcome note. We highly recommend Leatherbury!!

Great stay!

Beautiful morning views from every room! The house was the perfect place to unwind and the pool was refreshing! The kitchen was fully stocked and we were pleasantly surprised by the wine, cheese and local donuts waiting for us! Communication was fast and responsive. Town is walkable and bikeable. Perfect for cyclists! Will stay again!

Amazing property

The pictures absolutely don’t do this place justice. The property is beautiful and the pool is clean as perfect. We had a very enjoyable stay over Memorial Day weekend. Despite some cool/wet weather, we thoroughly enjoyed the town and location. Great hospitality from Emily, we loved the doughnuts, cheese and wine when we arrived and the owners were nice enough to leave out a crab pot for us to steam some amazing Blue Crabs! Other than the weather, noting could have been better. Town nearby was great for walking around and lunch/dinner.

A Place to take a Welcomed Break

Overall we enjoyed the ideal location esp the cove, the view and the pool as well as distance to three other places on eastern shore we visited. Not as close to downtown as advertised ie not walkable. House was well furnished. TV instructions did not work but other evening activities kept us entertained. Refrig was small with no working ice maker and ice in cooler didnt last long. We agreed we would stay here again.
