The apartment was warm and comfortable and was perfect for our family of 5 with one double room and one room with three single beds. The pool and sauna were great and used every night after skiing. The walk to the gondola was easy and the manager, Kristina, is very helpful. Bansko has a charming old town as well as a more modern area near the ski gondola and I would recommend it as both a ski resort and a place to experience welcoming Bulgarian hospitality.
We had two apartments between 8 of us, a one bed and a two bed.
The apartments were spacious and well equipped although the equipment you get will vary as they are independently owned.
The location was great for getting to the snow road to the gondola. Our 11 year old girls did the short walk in ski boots carrying skis without too many moans ;-)
The pool and the jacuzzi area in it were very welcome after a day on the slopes.
Prices in the mini market under the apartments priced 2 compete with the supermarkets.
The gondola did have a queue but it was half term. Left it until 11am and only hit long queues on one day.
Slopes were challenging enough mainly because they were very lumpy. May have been weather conditions or a lack of pisting. Hard to tell.
Lovely atmosphere on the slopes. Friendly people. Good beer (ask for Pirinsko).
Planning next year already :-)
