Our family loved staying in Casino di Mare. We celebrated our brother in lawâs 80 th birthday with much joy in a perfect setting. We loved walking to the beach and into town or just sitting in the courtyard. Donatella was perfect and helpful with our questions and suggestions for things to do in the area. Thank you so much!
The house is as described and as shown in the photos. Our two small children loved the long sandy beach that is essentially at the end of the (50m) drive. Fortunately neither of them showed any particular interest in the steep spiral wooden staircase in the dining room (which has no side rails but does have a gate at either end - though the top bolt needs repair). The house has all the kit that you need (but microwave would be helpful) - we enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the sunset over the sea and the Amalfi peninsula and eating outside every evening (including from the BBQ).
Santa Maria is a lovely town with all the shops and services that you need. This part of Italy is a bit of a hidden gem and the house itself is lovely. Donatella was very welcoming and home cooked meals can be arranged and delivered to the house.
We are working out when we can go back!
Donatellaâs welcomed us into her home as if we were family. She took my 19 year old daughter on a walk to town to show her the best shops for fish and groceries. The view from the upper balcony overlooking the Mediterranean was our favorite spot for sunset and a glass of wine. The grounds surrounding the home were breathtaking, the vineyard, the walled garden, and the fields in front of the home leading to the sea created a perfect landscape for our vacation. The beach was a short walk and it was a wonderful spot for the 2 year old to run around and enjoy the water. In the evenings it was a pleasure to walk into town to the many restaurants or stroll along the water front and dine near the beach. Donatellaâs beautiful home offered us everything we needed to have a wonderful 2 weeks family vacation.
I often rent interesting houses on vacation and this is one of the best I've experienced. I love to swim and a beautiful sea is a walk down a long allee of olive trees from this historic villa. The original farm is still producing olives, vegetables, fruits and flowers and the structure has adapted to modern life without giving up its true nature as a farmhouse. The views of the Amalfi coast across the bay and sunset from the terrace are inspirational. The rooms are large and well appointed, some with magnificent views. The center of the small beach town is an easy walk and is not very touristy. We cook and found great fish markets, a terrific butcher, fresh fruit and vegetables and an exceptional restaurant. I would certainly return!
Words can not describe the feeling you get when you drive up to this home lined by Olive Trees. It's one of the most unique properties I have ever stayed at. The best way to describe it is old world charm meets modern amenities. The home has everything you could possibly need, it includes a specious well equipped kitchen to prepare meals, entertaining space inside and out, as well as two living rooms, and two dining areas. The courtyard has several spaces to gather and enjoy the outdoors. One of the best outdoor spaces is either of the two upstairs verandas where we enjoyed beautiful sunsets overlooking the sea. We very much loved the city, it's citizen's were very welcoming and eager to help. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a few families, however it was only just the four of us for this trip. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone who wants space to spread out in an unforgettable vacation home.
We had a wonderful visit. There is a feeling of being part of the village staying here. Patrizia's attention and warmth is welcoming. We enjoy connections with Constantino who celebrates the culture of the region. Altogether a great place and situation for visits to Castellebrate and St Mary.
Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. The only problem was the heat! We came in September because we thought it wouldnât be cooler and hit heat! Still there is always the stroll to the sea and a beautiful little beach or up to the shop for cooling drinks, or to one of the bars or restaurants for lovely meals. Patrizia was always ready to help. Delightful place.
A wonderful get away...if only there were a 6th star to rate this place!
This country villa is beautiful and very private, yet absolutely walking distance to the village. Patricia, Costantino, Paolo, and Donatella make a great team. We felt very well cared for and part of the village during our stay. My family miss it already.
We had an amazing time here. The house which dates from 1792 has lots of character and lots of space. We enjoyed harvesting our own tomatoes and chillies from its garden. It is also very close to the sea and well located in the Cilento area. Donatella is a great host there.
