This was a great stay! Good location with a pool conveniently located right next to it. The house size was perfect. Could use some extra detail cleaning but all in all was a perfect fit for us!
My family and I stayed the weekend here and it was so nice. Perfect size for 4 adults and 3 children. Close to the beach and very cleaned. Thank you Melissa! I will keep this on our must book places when we come back for the summer.
The condo is in a great location. Close to everything. It had everything we needed to make our trip a success. The pool right next to the condo was a plus. Adults could sit on the balcony or on the front patio and watch the kids as they swan. I would definitely stay at this property again.

My family enjoyed our stay at the Carlâs Isle townhome for the weekend. The property was very clean, layout was just as described in VRBO and the pool was right next door .. very clean and the pool accommodated our stay! This place was a plus, accepting my furbaby, as well. Definitely looking forward to booking again in the future!
Much thanks to the property manager, Melissa. She was very thorough and very helpful throughout booking and our stay!
Location: where we thought it might be and walking distance to beach was accurate.
Condo: smelled like sewer when we first entered, just in the entry way. Water pressure for showers was very low. Washer/Dryer & Dishwasher needs to be updated, very dirty. Master bathroom roof leak. Condo is located next to the small pool, so be prepared for noise. Master bedroom bed, needs to be replaced. Reason itâs been very used, you sink right into the mattress.
We are picky when it comes to paying and staying at Vrbo condos bc of the fees you have to pay for a stay are ridiculous. So to get your monies worth you want a place to stay where you get a great experience. This was not it for us unfortunately.
Itâs not terrible but it could be better.
If you enjoy a place close to town and the action, Carlâs Isle is the place for you. Nice dog friendly place with convenient doggie bags and containers in the dog walking areas for disposing of dog waste.
We usually spend the day under a canopy on the beach and itâs a bit of a drive past wooden posts that designate a car free zone before you can drive closer to the water to set up the canopy. Then if you want to drive back to the condo or town for lunch, your spot will be gone so pack a lunch if you plan to stay all day. This is a very crowded part of Mustang island, so finding a good spot on the weekend takes a little patience. In the past, we have stayed more in the center of Mustang Island where itâs not so crowded so this was a bit of a surprise. However, the beach at Port A is very clean with numerous trash containers and porta potties.
Carlâs Isle is a corner unit with a large deck for relaxing or eating a meal, so you get the ocean breezes even though you canât see the sea. It is only a short walk though. The kitchen has no mixing bowls nor strainer for pasta water that we could find, but itâs easy to make do and the kitchen is otherwise well equipped. Nice stove and microwave plus good coffee maker. The frig has no ice maker nor ice trays, so pick up a big bag of ice on the way there. Through our own fault we could not find some things in the kitchen like dish towels and pot holders and management immediately sent a woman from the cleaning staff over. We appreciated her friendliness and good humor as she showed us where the items actually were.
The doors to the outside are pretty difficult to open both leading into the house and out to to the deck upstairs. However every home has its quirks, even my own. All in all, youâll find Carlâs Isle both spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay.
This condo was nice and updated. Right next to the pool which we also enjoyed. Loved the kitchen. The beds/pillows were comfy. It felt like a home, and not just a rental. Our only suggestion would be curtains on the bedroom windows to keep out the outside lights, and the sun that is up "very" early this time of year. Melissa was great to work with, and check-in was a breeze. I definitely recommend this place!
Walking distance to beach, spacious and quiet townhome
Our party of 7 had a great time at Carl's Isle. The property was a short walk to the beach and the condo was spacious as well as family friendly.
The experience prior to check in was not ideal. Upon booking the host contacted me via email to collect names and ages of all the guests. Two days later, our reservation was canceled out of a concern to uphold a "friend friendly atmosphere" - we are all ages 30-34 and had a toddler. I called Melissa and after hearing we were all couples (one that's expecting a baby next month), they decided to accept our reservation.
The other issue was that we were informed late that the pool and hot tub wouldn't be working. We were informed shortly after the full reservation payment went through and less than 24 hours prior to check in. Melissa did give us a discount after we pressed for it, which we appreciated.
This is a good place to stay and I would stay at one of Melissa's properties again. I recommend future guests to be very descriptive about their guest list and confirm the pool and hot tub is working
This was a great place for me and my grown children to hang out and go to the beach. Its not a bad walk, unless you need to take your beach stuff. Just need to drive it over and then walk back. It was clean and has a very nice layout. I liked that the guest bedrooms were downstairs and the master was up and near the kitchen. The only problem I had was with the kitchen set-up. Because of Covid, we stayed in for every meal. The cookware was greatly lacking. I brought some of my own stuff just in case, but it still wasn't enough. Bring your own large bowls, spatula, large skillet, wet measuring cup, and serving dishes. Really anything you cant live without for whatever you are making. I brought an electric skillet which really helps when serving a crowd. Besides the items missing from the kitchen, I really don't have any other complaints.
