Everything was amazing!!! Francie and Bob are great hosts. The property was so clean and had everything we needed. Francie does not forget any little detail. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. So charming and lovely.
The cutest little cottage! Francie was amazing to work with and you can tell they care about your stay! The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Itâs only a 20-25 uber ride into the heart of Salem if you donât want to drive. I will definitely save this as a must return property!
We received a warm, hospitable greeting at check-in. Francie provided a tour of The Sweet and made us feel comfortable as we settled in. The Sweet was converted from a machine shop into the most delightful vacation cottage. I would wake up and want to stay in the bedroom all day, it was so peaceful. We had breakfast amongst the hydrangeas, and then I wanted to stay there all day. They had fruit bowl, cheese, bottled water, and more for us when we arrived. Francie put fresh cut flowers from the garden in the living room and sittting room/2nd bedroom. The kitchenette included all the appliances and service ware needed for a vacation. The manuals for the appliances were right next to them, in case we were unsure about their operation. The hosts provided a wonderful binder filled everything you want to know regarding The Sweet, local urgent care, supermarkets, and restaurants. I appreciated being able to do a small load of laundry before returning home. Both beds were comfortable. I cannot say enough nice things about The Sweet and the hosts. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I would love to return.
Perfect Sweet. Well appointed. Equipped with everything needed. Ideal location to walk, shop, surf and sun. Easy access to Salem and Boston with many sites to see. And wonderful hosts! You won't be disappointed.
From the moment my daughter and I arrived on the property we were met with nothing but the finest hospitality by the owners. Everything was in place to make our stay the very best it could be. We would return in a heartbeat!
Charming private townhouse in beautiful Marblehead, Ma.
Warm, welcoming, beautifully decorated, everything needed for a relaxing visit. Francie and Bob are wonderful, affable hosts. They are truly attentive to every little detail, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion! The neighborhood is charming and quiet but within a few minutes drive to several affordable and delicious restaurants. This was our second visit, can't wait to return!
We genuinely had the best experience we've ever had with staying at a rental property. Francie and Bob are lovely people. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay we could have possibly had. We were greeted with a basket of goodies, fruit, muffins, and some of the most comfortable robes we've ever worn. The property is exactly as described and is a great utilization of the space. Francie and Bob made themselves readily available to help with everything. I would highly recommend a stay here
We wanted to visited family and enjoy Marblehead. The attention to detail is above and beyond most places I have rented in the past. We will be returning. Christmas festivities were in full swing in the town on this weekend.
We stayed at this lovely little home for a full month a year ago. We stayed another 8 nights this time. You just cannot beat this property or the hosts! Our previous stay was in the summertime. This stay was over Thanksgiving and some cold weather. The Sweet has the greatest fireplace that quickly warms you and creates the coziest atmosphere. We loved it and you will too. We highly recommend the Sweet!
This is our second year staying at the Sweet and we couldn't love it more! It is the absolutely perfect homebase to explore Marblehead and the surrounding area. We will be back next year!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the sweet! Francie and her husband were incredibly kind and accommodating! The space was clean and cozy and in the perfect location for exploring Marblehead and nearby Salem. We will definitely be back!
This was a dream come true. This cozy cottage was the perfect place for a fall stay in Massachusetts. My friends and I stayed and drove to Salem. It was a short beautiful drive from the cottage. Francis was the perfect hostess. I would completely recommend!
We couldnât ask for a better place to stay. Francie and Bob treated us as if we knew each other forever. The house is very clean and cozy. Plus itâs only a short little ride to Salem. Will definitely be booking here again in the future.
Your hosts are Francie King and husband Robert Erbetta. Francie is a writer and book editor, and Robert is a facilities manager and historic-house renovator. They have lived and worked in Marblehead for several decades and consider fine hospitality one of life's purest pleasures. They are deeply familiar with the North Shore, where Marblehead is located north of Boston, and eager to share its gifts with their guests.
We invite guests to fully enjoy the Sweet, while encouraging them to explore Marblehead, fall in love with it (as many do) and return often. The Sweet is located in a neighborhood that hugs the waterfront and that once housed shipbuilders, sea captains, and waterfront workers. The Sweet itself, located in its own building with its own small outside brick patio adjacent to a lush garden, is ideal for a summer stay, but equally pleasurable for a winter retreat, thanks to a cozy fireplace. The Sweet's central location means that many guests simply park and leave their cars during their stay, while walking to Marblehead's shops, restaurants, historic sites, and beaches, nearly all of which are within easy walking distance. Ours is a true seaside walking town, with many amenities close by.
Close to the harbor, beaches, parks, shops, and restaurants; private; quiet; and available year-round for both short or longer stays. Salem is a 15-minute drive away, and Boston can be reached by car (45 minutes) or public transport. Marblehead is in the heart of historic New England, adjacent to other villages and towns with deep roots in the past. Hosts are amateur historians of the area and of Marblehead's place in Revolutionary War history.
