Enjoyed staying at The Lodge - away from it all, peaceful, plenty of space and seclusion. Also enjoyed the facilities and the swimming pool - and comfortable beds! Thank you to our host Georgina for the âlittle extrasâ to greet us and for our happy stay in your home - loved by all.
Deceptively tardis like property with comfy beds and plenty of space for everyone. Set back from the road so you hear very little noise but the nature around you
The cottage is beautiful, sparkling clean and has everything you could need to have a relaxing holiday. The accomodation is large and the lounge and bedrooms very comfortable. The grounds are impressive with the garden to the cottage secure for both chidren and dogs, my dog loved the space, and the fact we could explore the bridal paths on our morning walk.
We found the surrounding area offers plenty of sight seeing and some excellent places to eat.
Would highly recommend a stay at this lovely property.
The lodge was fantastic for all of us ,large secure garden for dogs and bridle path alongside so no worries about traffic.property clean and comfortable and swimming pool was great clean and warm.Hoping to book for next year.
Really nice cottage with a unique lay out (bedrooms downstairs) and a massive garden which includes table tennis table and football goal. Comfortable beds (we all slept well) and loved the massive corner sofa in the lounge. The location was perfect for us in being close to places like Woodbridge and Aldeburgh.
Only negative I would say is the showers are pretty hit and miss (not very powerful and hot to cold to hot during use).
Excelkent, well equipped and comfortable property. More than helpful host. Great location for visiting Orford, Aldeburgh and area. Recommend the Uffird Crown for a meal...
What a lovely place, just as described. Had a great time away, loved the tranquil setting. Our granddaughter loved the pool. Will definitely come again. Thank you Georgia.
Property was all we needed for our stay with the added bonus of the heated outside pool which we used every morning!
The location is amazing, the village is beautiful, the church and the village hall, perfect for a dog walk!
We did a mixture of eating in and out, the kitchen was well equipped and the added treats that were left were very much appreciated! Thanks for having us xx
Fabulous stay in a beautiful setting. Clean and warm with everything you need. Owner very helpful and left us some lovely goodies, which were very much appreciated. Thank you
It was a fantastic place canât fault it in anyway, the lady that owns the place is such a helpful and couldnât do enough for you weâll book again
Great property and communication with the owner.
3 out of the 4 of us are gluten-free and they had left some gluten-free snacks, which was so lovely.
The property was exactly as described but a better experience than expected as there were so many nice touches that a lot of properties have used covid as an excuse not to provide - books, games and puzzles, cooking oil, tea and coffee, little jam pots, dishwasher tablets etc.
Fantastic views from the living room and very peaceful.
Would recommendđ
Cannot speak too highly of this cottage. Beautiful inside and out. The lounge is enormous! The standard of the fittings are first rate and the garden is huge. In a beautiful peaceful location. Georgia the host is helpful and considerate. Highly recommended.
Comfortable, well equipped with many thoughtful and welcome touches. Totally peaceful, great location, very close to all the best that Suffolk can offer.
We found the maps and local guides provided really useful. Pub recommendations were spot on, try the Ufford Crown if you can. This property was great for three adults on a short break, but would also suit a family with young children. Lots to do right on the doorstep! Recommended and we hope to return for a longer stay.
We had a lovely time at this thatched property. Georgina the host was very helpful with our queries.
Two things I would improve is the pressure in the hot water for the shower. It is like a trickle and I have very thick hair. It also smelt a bit damp in the bedrooms which were situated downstairs I presume because they are below ground level.
We loved the sitting room and the wonderful sofa and the veranda was a delight.
Amazing house and location. Astonishing walks. Plenty of space. All facilities as described. Plenty of activities as bike show, market, horses, museums. Would recommend it for everybody. Great experience for families or friends. Just book it.
We rented Lodge cottage with friends for a week over Easter 2023, being 5 adults, 1 teen and 2 dogs. The cottage was as described and in a lovely peaceful location, with a large enclosed garden ideal for young children and dogs. The lounge was stunning with views to all sides, everything was clean and the kitchen extremely well equipped, there were also lots of indoor/outdoor games and books etc.
The owner Georgia gave extensive info prior to our visit and said hello during our stay to make sure everything was OK. Would definitely recommend Lodge Cottage as an idyllic base for exploring the area.
The cottage suited us very well, my 89 year old mother managed all the steps and stairs very well! The layout is well planned and the cottage very well equipped.
It was marvellous to have use of the lovely pool, the hours for guest use are generous and it all worked very well even though it was very warm weather and in school holidays when I imagine everyone wants to use it.The grounds are lovely and it will be a long project to tame them, but work is well underway. Lovely walks from the house and plenty of places to visit nearby, masses of tourist info and local maps in the book cases.
Georgia and her team presented the cottage well and left a generous welcome pack.
We enjoyed our stay here and despite the persistent rain all week managed to get some lovely countyside walks and visit some local attractions. We enjoyed the outdoor games (badminton and table tennis) that were provided and looked through some of the books and games in the living room.
The living room is huge and the sofa has been updated since the photos were taken and is now one massive corner shaped sofa with plenty of room for all 5 of us
The kitchen was well stocked with nearly everything we needed including an electric whisk and weighing scales (but no potato masher) and the view from the kitchen window across the owners garden were lovely, especially in the morning sun through the mist.
The bedrooms were nicely laid out (although i found the scent of the washing powder quite overwhelming) and the beds were reasonably comfortable.
The single bedroom sadly had a very mouldy corner which has been covered over with wood with a hatch on the top. Unfortunately my daughter opened this and the smell was terrible. I could also still smell it when it was shut so we all ended up sleeping in the twin room.
The heating didnt seem to of been set properly and we couldnt work out how to change it. It came on in the middle of the night and roasted us all in bed, but we couldn't get it to turn off nor could we put it on in the evening when it was getting a bit chilly.
Overall it was a lovely holiday
Brian is a local veterinary surgeon and Georgia works alongside him in the practice. They have two school-aged children, two dogs - Bear and Ellie, 2 pet sheep - Luna and FG and 2 Alpacas.
We have lived around the Woodbridge area for many years, enjoying the proximity to river, forest, heathland and coast. We fell in love with the gardens and grounds of Hacheston Lodge. The village location is wonderfully convenient for local amenities and close to the A12 and A14 for access to London, Norwich and the Midlands.
Lodge cottage is very close to places of interest nearby. Framlingham, Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo, Snape Maltings, Orford, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Walberswick, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich are all a short drive away. There is a railway station in the next village of Campsea Ashe, with trains to Woodbridge and Ipswich. There are regular trains from Ipswich to London which means that day trips to the Capital are possible. Coastal and heathland walks, castles and cycling through the picturesque Suffolk villages and country lanes are just part of the pleasure, as are visiting friendly local pubs and restaurants. Come to Coastal Suffolk to get away from the crowds.
