Moorea vacation

The location was very private and comfortable. There was a security entrance into neighborhood and security system for house. Quiet and peaceful. Close to all of the things/recreational/eating that we enjoyed seeing and doing. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect location, great house

Check in was super pro and easy. The house is located at the end of a peninsula, nice and secluded, perfect for us. Kayaks were great, house was comfortable and well appointed, the best spot by far was the covered deck by the lagoon. Saw a manta ray from the hammock. Diving once you cross the channel is excellent, pro tip, go to outside reef, some of the best free diving on the island. Can’t wait to go back

Phenomenal!!

This place exceeded our expectations. The location is incredible. If you rent this make sure you take the kayaks out early in your stay. There are incredible coral starting about a hundred meters out. We did it the last day. But, Villa Vahua is in a great location and is set up to enjoy it with the whole back of the house opening to the sea.

Second Time=even better!

We were so happy to be going back to the VV because we had enjoyed ourselves so much in our time there last year. We were thrilled that a new patio shade structure was installed since we were there last and it allowed us to spend a ton of time on that fabulous deck, enjoying meals, playing cards and games. Tremendous amenity! Improving on perfect is hard to do-but they succeeded! Merci!

Paradise Found!

The villa was absolutely a perfect place to relax & see the world go by. Lots of places to perch and enjoy meals, games, read, nap, etc.. Kayaking and reef tip shark (they are not dangerous to people-just fish) watching from the backyard was a daily pleasure. Papetoi is a quiet little village and we felt close to everything. Moorea is an island that you want to nestle into and call home!

We were robbed! UNSAFE with terrible owners. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Don’t stay here. We were robbed by people who entered from the water. The house and the surrounding Papeto’ai area are NOT safe. Despite unnerving, compound-like security (gated community, two separate security alarms, panic-room style locking double doors between bedrooms), the waterfront is completely open. On our 5th day, people kayaked close by to scope us out all day and then thieves entered from the water overnight and stole hundreds of dollars of diving equipment, two new kayaks, and even cushions from the deck furniture. They also tried to break into the house while we were sleeping and brought a big dog based on paw prints in the sand. This was truly frightening and I don’t want to think of what could have happened had I gone out during the robbery or not locked the doors. Police came the next day and both officers told me that the area has a lot of theft and break-ins. My locals friends also told me the area is unsafe (after I told them what happened). In retrospect, this is so obvious from the security of the house and surrounding houses. The property management isn’t local and I don’t trust the owners at all. If it’s was safe, they wouldn’t have so much security. POSITIVES: Clean/modern house; well-stocked kitchen; good ACs; nice deck; nice views from loft; Azaria the property manager is kind and professional; Tahiti Homes was quick in sending new kayaks when one sank and the other kayaks were too filthy to use. NEGATIVES: Unsafe area; robbery with attempted break-in; crazy termite infestation on first two nights (in the beds, on floors, even getting in food); smelly cat feces in the sandy patch next to deck; waterfront is misrepresented and actually murky green due to mud from the adjacent bay and was unusable due to huge, slimy, rotting slicks of seaweed and plastic garbage that wash up to the wall and water entry; gigantic cockroaches scurrying on the deck and bathroom every night; kayak sunk while I was over a mile into the lagoon and I had to swim it back at dusk; two kayaks were full of rancid water and dead insects. Tahiti Homes offered to reimburse for the stolen equipment but the foreign owners said no. We asked for an additional night refund since we lost multiple days due to the theft, the kayak sinking, and no kayaks during lockdown but the owners again refused. I’ve been to Moorea three times and stayed all over the island and there are so many cheaper, nicer, safe places where you can support local people.

Fantastic house in a fantastic location

Wonderful, well-appointed and modern ocean-front house with great swimming and snorkeling right from the house. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Location is perfect for exploring the two bays and good restaurant options are within a few minutes drive!

Excellent house. Excellent location.

The house was great and had everything we needed for our stay in Moorea. The waterfront location and outdoor living facilities (deck, gazebo with furniture, rooftop with chairs, etc) was the best and made our stay memorable. The location was also close to spots such as Magic Mountain, Belvedere and both bays. I highly recommend.

Great Family Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed the home for our family. The home was clean with a well-equipped kitchen and reliable wifi (if you need to check in with work and home!). It is located on the water and set up for outdoor living.
