The house was clean, and the bed is comfortable. Communication with the host was easy. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the back area each morning to drink our tea. Mountain view is beautiful! Will stay there again!
This worked out great since we were moving my father into assisted living in Oro Valley. The kitchen was nice so we could cook and not eat out all the time. Hot tub was great and private.
Incredibly quiet and cozy place to use as a home base on our 5-day trip to the Tucson area. The location was perfect for getting to various hiking trails and restaurants, in addition to a friend's wedding that originally brought us to the area. Ami was friendly and responsive and we greatly appreciated the opportunity to relax here for the past few days!
It was a perfect stay for the short time we were there. Myself and my 2 toddlers slept comfortably in the king size bed and my son on the day bed, and husband on the couch. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to utilize the pool as Amy offered. She has a beautiful background surrounded with a beautiful view of the mountains. My son and husband did get to go on a trail hike in the morning near here home. It was just what we were looking for. Thank you!
Provided a nice and cozy space for a weekend getaway, didn't have any problems, the pool and jacuzzi were a major plus, definitely would stay again, soon!
Comfortable place to stay. There was one hiccup with the owners dog but it was solved relatively quickly. The owners do stay in the attached house which would have been nice to know. Also, you have to ask them to turn on the hot tub and let them know when your done to turn it off which is fine but you feel kind of guilty if itâs late or early in morning. The beds were comfortable. Cleanliness could have been better, there was hair on the ceiling above the above the shower and the floor has not been scrubbed in a while. My white socks turned brown from walking around in inside and itâs a dusty bunny hotel under the king bed. The neighborhood is nice and safe and overall is good place to stay. Just probably wouldnât stay here again.
We had a very nice stay. The rental was clean, comfortable, and felt like a home away from home. It was spacious, had a full kitchen, and the location made it easy to get groceries and find good places to eat nearby. The property manager was welcoming and quick to respond, which made things easy. Weâd definitely consider staying here again.
We had a short window for a trip & decided to check out Oro Valley. The place was the perfect size for the us, a cute cozy space where we enjoyed relaxing. Ami was great, & we followed her suggestion of visiting Catalina State Park where we enjoyed beautiful hiking trails. We had a wonderful time.
Place was perfect for the two of us. Bed very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Nice neighborhood for walking. Beautiful sunsets from front of apt.
Wonderful location backing right up to the Catalina Mountains. Simple but perfectly functional facilities. Our host Ami was friendly, warm and very easy to reach. A backyard flock of layer chickens gave us a breakfast of the freshest eggs imaginable.
Ami made sure our stay was comfortable, and all our needs met. She quickly responded to any texts and, as she lives and works in the main house, she was usually there to take care of any requests. The casita is attached to the main house but excellent soundproofing negated any noise from either side. The bedroom was large with a large TV, bedside tables on both sides, and walk-in closet. The attached bathroom offered plenty of counter space. We stayed a month and were pleased that the kitchen had amble counter space for our bread-making machine and large Berkey water filter. The spacious living room had enough clear space for our exercise mat. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed many evening hot-tub dips which gazting at the stars. We plan to return next year for another month-long stay.
The guest house was perfect for my wife and our dog for our one week stay. Well appointed, had everything we needed. Nice little fenced in area to lounge outside with the dog and great views. Loved the location, pretty secluded but close to everything on Oracle. Will stay again.
We were in town for a swim meet! This place had enough room for my boys to rest and relax in between sessions! The view was awesome. Communication with Ami was fantastic as well. We hope to stay again when we go back to Oro valley!
Tucked away next to the mountain. Fully stocked with condiments, coffee, tea. Convenient to Oro Valley Hospital where I was visiting my husband who was a patient there.
The stay was awesome and perfect for what we were looking for! We did a temporary stay for over a week and it was close by many restaurants, gas station, grocery stores like Trader Joeâs! Our dogs, kids, and adults had a great stay! It was quiet and we got to see chickens every morning which was a plus. Ami was very communicative and gave us access to her pool and yard if we needed!
When I saw the photos online, I was given the impression we were staying at a house with a fenced-in backyard with a pool. Not quite. We were in an attached apartment to said house, which was occupied by no less than three adults and two large, less-than-friendly dogs at the time; there would be no use of the pool or yard. Being from Phoenix, I expected the house to have central air. Nope. There were three very loud wall-mounted cooling units, which really didn't keep the rental uniformly cool. This is a pet-friendly rental, so I was concerned when I noticed the carpet when we arrived. It smelled like bleach when we arrived, but by the next day, that smell had been replaced by a dirty animal funk. This prevented us from sleeping in the front room when we discovered the king-size bed in the only bedroom was as hard as a rock, and neither of us slept at all the first night. Also, the maximum number of people this could sleep would be five unless you have a third person in the bed or someone sleeps on couch cushions on the floor. As it is there is only a king-sized bed and a twin bed, but there are couches. The area was very convenient for our needs, but we were miserable the whole time.
2nd visit! Awesome scenery & location. Pool was wonderful on hot days for both human and dogs. Had everything I needed... from kitchen to bathroom necessities. And did I say the location was perfection? 1 hour to Madera Canyon, 30 minutes to zoo, 20 minutes to Sonoran museum, 7 minutes to Tohono Chul Desert Botanical Gardens and 12 minutes to Catalina State Park. Lots of restaurants with a myriad of cuisine nearby. Perfect dog friendly get-a-way!
I am originally from Tucson but lived in Southern California for 30 years.
I came back to Tucson to be close to family, however, I realized how much I love it here once I saw the Sunsets and Monsoons again. There are so many fun things to do in this area and so many friendly people.
I am a local Realtor with Long Realty and love anything to do with houses, remodels and decor. I also love anything outside - golf, hiking, swimming - the weather here supports a lot of year round activities.
If you are thinking to come visit Tucson/Oro Valley, I am more than happy to help recommend good places to go see during your stay!
