Perfect for Weekend Getaway

The directions provided by the host were excellent, and needed since we lost service about 15 minutes out! It's a cute neighborhood, neighbors didn't bother us at all. Hikes required a bit of a drive, but the place itself was very clean, warm (wood burning stove!). Bring your own firewood or be prepared to go find it!

Nice cabin

Enjoyed our stay. Cabin had more than enough room for us. Cabin was supplied with almost everything we needed. We forgot a lighter for the fire pit & grill & did not find one in cabin. There was a Dollar General store close which was convenient.

RRG cabin

Very clean place and everything works good! Nice area with friendly neighbors great area to hangout in nature. There was a bad storm on Sunday afternoon where the power went out for a few hours and we decided to leave early in case the power was off until next day. Overall good experience and would recommend to others

Cabin near the lake

We had a good stay.The cabin was nice. We enjoyed the firepit. The location wasn't what I expected, a bit noisy with kids riding 4-wheelers.But it was ok. Could have just been temporary neighbors spending the weekend like us. Overall it suited our purpose.

Beautiful property!

The cabin is beautiful and in a lovely location. The screened-in porches were especially nice. It is not a 2-bedroom, however. That's explained in the description, but it really should be listed as a 1-bedroom property.

Easy for lake stay

Easy place to go for the weekend when you plan on being at the lake and just hanging out with friends or family and having a little escape that is budget friendly.

Stay at the cozy cabin

The stay was good, i only have two suggestions and that would be to have a fan or some kind of cooling source in the living room to help cool the down stairs a little quicker, second thing would be to clean a little better in the shower..Overall our stay was great there were lots of extra amenities thats definitely made the experience very at home like, we would definitely rent this cabin again

Cave Run Lake Cabin

This cabin was perfect for our family. It was clean and cute. All of the beds were together on the second floor. It was one big open space and my husband and I were on one side and my kids were on a bunk bed on the opposite end. Which I liked a lot because I’m always worried about my kids in an unfamiliar place. I have no negative comments to leave only one small suggestion. There were only 2 small mirrors over the sinks in the bathrooms. Maybe a full size mirror somewhere in the cabin would be helpful. I know I’m not the only woman who likes to see her entire outfit before heading out. :) We will be back.

Amazing highly recommended

I want to start off by saying the owners are truly amazing! They gave us lots of advice on things around the area. Very friendly got back with me quickly super good to us! Home was very nice and clean! Love the location and neighborhood! Everything you would want in a little getaway, very nice screened in porch to relax on nice fire pit to sit at and have family time, close to the lake couldn’t ask for much more! My family really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend! Gets five stars from us!

Low key family fun spot

We were hoping for an outdoorsy weekend, but weather had other plans. Still, This was a fun property to hide away from the cold rain. The screened in porch was a perfect place for coffee breaks and card games! Owner was very responsive and friendly

Great little place!

We absolutely loved our stay! The screened in porch was a huge hit for my two year old! It was nice for him to be able to play and get some fresh air without have to worry about him running off. Overall a nice and cozy cabin! Would def recommend!!

Great time

The entire process from rental to checkout was wonderful. Owner/caretaker even checked the trash after we left because I thought we had accidentally put a bag of laundry in the trash can. Very accommodating and peaceful stay!

My family spent a long weekend away before we move yet again with the military. The area was absolutely breathtaking. The cabin was all we needed and more. There was nothing we needed as everything was provided. Thanks for a great stay.

Nice get away

Quiet neighborhood. The neighbors loaned us a hatchet and gave us some firewood. The cabin was nice and roomy, so for a group of 5, it was great. The screened in porch was were we spent most of our time when we weren't away from the cabin. Being from Florida where it was in the 90s° when we left, we really enjoyed the cooler temperatures. The items I think would be beneficial are: lighting at the steps coming into the cabin (when it's dark, you can not see the steps), lighting over the sink and stove, revamp the steps going into the loft (they are steep, no railing for a section, no back side to the step - a child could fall through). If you are traveling with a toddler, be prepared to have your time consumed with guarding the stairs. Did not see one bug i.e. cockroach, that in itself deserves 5 stars!!

A few issues.

The kitchen wasn’t furnished. No firewood for the fireplace outside. Grill was only one that was like at park. Many light bulbs were out…and didn’t furnish any to replace them. And you can’t comfortably sleep 7. You only have a bunk bed and a queen size bed. So maybe 2 couples and one child. And that pushing it. The location was nice and enjoyed the porch.

Great location to the lake

Unfortunately we had a lot of rain. The screened in porch allowed us to still be outside during rainstorms. My dad even slept on the porch most nights! Inside was cozy with tons of room. Cabin has one queen bed & a bunk bed with a full bed on the bottom. If you need more beds the cabin is equipped with multiple air mattresses. Plenty of room for those. Be aware you may have to put the sheets on the beds. Check for that when you arrive so your not doing it at midnight like I did. There is no dishwasher which is fine but you may need to wash dishes before using. Kitchen is well stocked. Coffee maker, toaster & a crock pot! Large fire pit area & large yard. We were able to put our dog on a 30’ lead & he had plenty of room to run. He loved the cabin too! There are woods & a creek behind the cabin. We didn’t get to explore due to the rain though. There are cabins all around but we still didn’t see a lot of people. If you want to fish from the shore we couldn’t find many spots but there are a few very close to the cabin. The cabin is in a great location to get to many areas of the lake. We are already thinking about a trip late spring or summer next year. This cabin is on my list!

Well stocked, close to the lake

I was pleasantly surprised at how well the cabin was stocked! I have learned from past experiences to take my own cookware to prepare meals for several people, but this little gem had a great array of various pots, pans, silverware, and dishes! I didn't even have to unpack mine! The weather was really bad up until the last full day of our stay, but we just enjoyed our time together. We spent much of our time talking and enjoying each other's company on the large screened-in front porch. We did bring a 20 foot pontoon and also had 3 vehicles. Plenty of parking. Parking the pontoon trailer was a bit tricky, but we figured it out. Great communication from Daniel. The neighbors were very kind and friendly (not sure if all were residents or renters as well). The fore pit looked very nice, though we didn't get a chance to use it. If you're looking for a cozy place to spend some quality time with friends and family close to the lake, then this is it! Pop's BBQ is a must try while you're here. Morehead is also a short drive away where there are lots of restaurants. The fish hatchery is also a neat little place to visit and view native fish species up close. Overall, this little cabin was very comfy and homey!! 5 stars all the way!

We are the Farlow Family out of Cincinnati, Ohio. We purchased the cabin to use personally as well as to allow others to enjoy it. We will often come down and enjoy the quiet time away as well as the exciting time at the lake.

After years of searching, we choose this property because of its secluded location, and how close it is to the lake. 5 minutes to the closest ramp, with fishing close by makes having a cabin in Daniel Boone National Forest a real treat!
