We had a great time staying at Grandpa.s Cabin. The view of the creek sitting out at the fire pit made each day relaxing and enjoyable with family and friends. This is our second time staying here and we plan on making this happen again and again.
Plenty of space for our 14 (ages 70-5). Everyone enjoyed the pool table, canoe rides, views during day and stars nightly! Close to Yellowstone so there during day and back to cabin to relax each night.
Best Location. Just minutes (and an easy drive) to West Yellowstone. Property practically boarders YNP. A grazing Bison in our yard daily. THE LAKE. Absolutely made this trip! Our kids fished and kayaked around the lake and loved it. Home was lovely and accommodating. Highly recommend.
We loved our weekend stay at Grandpa's Cabin. We wanted a place with room for 4 teens and 6 adults and this was so spacious and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. I especially enjoyed sitting on the porch by the lake watching the water and listening to the birds.
Beautiful place. Upstairs is good for someone with small kids because of the layout and there is a small bathroom. Lots of beds all over. Wish WIFI worked in more than the game room. Repeaters would be helpful. The view from the patio was wonderful. Overall, very nice.
Location, Location, LocationâŠGreat location close to the YNP entrance approx 8 miles. Remote feel but not in isolation. The cabin faces East and has magnificent sun rises over looking the fishing lake. However, there are no drapes or curtains in the main living room which faces East to shield the rising sun. The sun rise will make sure you donât over sleep. Makes brkf time and cooking little hot in the summer. Other than a few minor housekeeping issues overall really great and would stay there again.
We had such a great time at Grandpaâs Cabin! The location was perfect for getting into the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Plus, youâre a short 10 minute drive into downtown West Yellowstone for shopping, coffee, & food. The cabin is situated right on a pond which is great for seeing wildlife including bald eagles (juveniles and adults), weasels, waterfowl, chipmunks, and even bison in the field across the water. The great expanse of the mountains is breathtaking and the sunrises are awe inspiring. We thoroughly enjoyed the firepit (with plenty of seating!) and took a nice ride in the canoe around the pond.
The name of the vacation home should really be âgreat place to unplugâ - not only because itâs in a beautiful remote location but because you will have no cell service and the WiFi does not work.
We hard a bit of a horror movie experience in the beginning of the trip which included a windstorm and lightning that took down a large tree across our driveway and along with the power line that supplied the cabin. Luckily, the hosts responded quickly and came out to assess the situation and contacted the power company to fix the situation only a few hours later.
Our tip to the hosts would be to supply more candles for power outages and add a hot tub!! Also please purchase a new fridge because the current one has a very loud buzzer noise that goes off every few hours and sounds like a dryer ending signal - which is especially an issue because the upstairs loft be
We enjoyed a wonderful white Christmas at this cabin! We enjoyed watching beautiful swans and playful otters on the water. We appreciated the cleanliness of this cabin and also how well it was stocked!
The house was big enough for 9 of us to spread out and have our own spaces. Easy parking access for all of our cars. Ample bed rooms and enjoyed the main living space along with the family room. It was nice to have the kids play and watch tv in the family room and the adults were able to enjoy the views and quiet of the main living room. The home is well equipped with supplies and everything worked as expected. The kitchen has a generous supply of pots, pans and dishes. There is also a supply of fishing rods along with a canoe and small row boat. The views out the window are stunning and the pond is full of very large brown, cutthroat and brook trout who are very willing to eat a fly. Super easy and quick access to Yellowstone Park. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful! We had a great time and hope to visit again.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin with the gorgeous pond right outside the deck/backyard. Unfortunately, we didn't see any moose on the property, but we found plenty of bison, elk, deer, and pronghorn in Yellowstone National Park. We loved hearing the honks of the Canadian geese on the pond and watching the ospreys, golden eagle, bald eagle, ducks, etc. The other houses in the neighborhood are spread out, so there is a sense of privacy on the deck. The highway is just down the street, close to be convenient but not obtrusive or loud. The house was comfortable and very clean but could have used more lighting in the kitchen and entertainment room, replacements for scratched pots/pans and broken dumpster lock, and some niceties like fluffier towels and a laundry basket. The heat, shower and smart TV worked fine, although we missed getting the local channels, and the house cooled off in the evenings by opening the sliding doors for a breeze. The WiFi and cellular were spotty but mostly worked fine in the entertainment room. The laundry center was very appreciated, as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. The property was just fifteen minutes from West Yellowstone, the western entrance to the Park and other hiking opportunities. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend the Grandpa's Cabin in West Yellowstone to all.
Beyond our expectations! We went with a group of three families and one single. There were 14 of us and we had a great time and enjoyed the views and prime location into West Yellowstone
We truly enjoyed our stay at Grandpaâs cabin! The kids loved canoeing on the pond and fishing for trout. Location was perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area but close enough to restaurants, shops, and the Yellowstone entrance. We were also close to prime fly fishing grounds - Madison River, and other lakes and streams to catch trout. We saw 2 River otters in the pond while canoeing everyday!
The house itself was spacious, the bathrooms were clean and recently updated. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having enough space for 14 people. It never felt crowded! We would definitely stay here again!
