Cottage de luxe avec cuisine et vue superbe sur les collines

Halsteads est situé dans un village calme dans le sud des lacs à proximité de la côte ainsi que les collines. Il est à seulement 15 minutes de la ville de Ulverston, les 20 minutes de Coniston ou Barrow et 45 mn des lacs Central Market du festival. Voyage à Halsteads est facile même en pleine saison de vacances; la majorité de la route sur les routes principales à travers de beaux paysages après avoir quitté l'autoroute.

La propriété est classée 4 étoiles par Visit England et inscrite au programme Familles bienvenues.

Il y a trois chambres à coucher - un roi, un double et un jumeau. En outre, il y a un canapé-lit surmatelas de qualité qui peut accueillir 2 invités supplémentaires (s'il vous plaît fournir votre propre double linge si vous utilisez ce).

Il y a une salle de bains familiale avec baignoire, lavabo, toilettes et grande douche. En outre, il y a une toilette séparée vestiaire.

La cuisine est une grande maison de campagne entièrement équipée avec tous les appareils, ustensiles et batterie de cuisine.

Il y a deux salons - le plus grand avec poêle à bois. Le petit salon de jour avec vue sur les collines dispose d'un canapé-lit pouvant accueillir 2 autres visiteurs.

De la maison, il ya des vues spectaculaires sur Kirby piscine, l'estuaire Duddon et Mosses et sur une journée très clair pour l'île de Man. Plus de trente sommets sont visibles notamment Coniston Old Man, Stickle Pike, Noir Coombe et Scafell. Il dispose d'un cadre bucolique avec des moutons dans les prés derrière.

commodités du village comprennent deux pubs, une gare, bureau de poste et un magasin de village bien approvisionné, des installations sportives et un parc de jeux pour enfants, des églises et centre de santé. Il est un excellent endroit pour la marche, le cyclisme et la faune ainsi que visites et d'intérêt historique; le chemin côtier de Cumbria gère cinq minutes de la porte. Les banques et les commerces et de loisirs plus vastes installations peuvent être trouvés dans Ulverston ou Barrow-in-Furness. Halsteads se situe dans les zones de livraison à domicile Tesco et Asda pour la commodité des achats sur Internet commandés à domicile, à livrer à votre arrivée.

Excellent property that is fully kitted out for anyone of any age travelling to the area. The view from the house and the decking area is amazing, I ate my breakfast outside every morning and sat out until dark! Easy access to all Lake District attractions. Hosts were brilliant throughout, great communication and it made the stay easier.

Near railway, so we used this 2 days for travel. Various attractions nearby. Lovely views from property. Well equipped kitchen. A smell of damp on entering after being outsude. Lovely walks along estuary fir evening stroll.

In need of some updating

We stayed in this property during the first week of Sep 2020. The overwhelming memory from our break was sadly, the very dusty and dated property. The old carpets and similarly old furniture caused my husband to have an asthma flare up due to dust. There is a very distinct fusty smell In the house, the damp hits you every time you enter. Clothes that had been stored in the master bedroom required washing on our return home due to the smell. As previous reviews highlight, the property is very well equipped and it does have a wonderful view but unfortunately those points alone don’t make for a pleasant holiday rental, when the property really is in need of some modernisation and attention.

We’re sorry that, unlike our other guests, you did not enjoy your stay. Since you did not raise these issues until your review 2 weeks after your stay we did not have any opportunity to address the issues at the time. We have not had previous reports of a fusty smell but will check that out immediately especially in the bedroom drawers. We do not understand why you perceived the property as dusty - the entire house is vacuumed before each stay and all surfaces, including the leather sofas, are damp dusted and sanitised. Carpets are VAX cleaned twice a year and carpets renewed when rooms are decorated e.g. master and second bedroom carpets are less than 4 years old. All beds are vacuumed before making up and the fresh bed linen and hypoallergenic pillow protectors are also laundered at 60 degrees between every let. The pictures on our website listing accurately reflect the furniture in the house; we expect people to make their own choice when selecting a property as to whether the facilities and decoration are to their liking.

Fantastic views & really well equipped house

Had a great week at Halsteads. This is the most organised and well equipped house I’ve stayed at and the communication and helpful tips from the owners were great. The view is amazing, can see for miles across the estuary and over to the hills. Would definitely stay here again!

Home from home

This property is amazing from the moment you park up on the generous drive amongst the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. It is very spacious throughout with no compromise needed in any part of the property. A very large kitchen and breakfast table. Amazing views from there and everything you could need from a kitchen. Train station is only two minutes walk away - the trains are not an intrusion at all in my book as they show a little bit of daily life going on amidst the ultra tranquility otherwise surrounding the place. Loads of thoughtful extras throughout the property - games, books, maps, dvds, extra pillows and bedding, extra garden seating and instructions wherever needed. Large BBQ available but we had rain and didn’t get to play with it - great elevated location for this. Secret garden at the front is beautiful. View from main bedroom over the garden is lovely to wake up to. A really charming place in a great location. The Ship Inn (one minute walk) is closed Mon and Tue but we received a very warm welcome on Weds and had a great free game or two of pool. Nearby towns offer all shopping and takeaway options. Tesco delivery worked a treat and made for an even easier stay. Overall a wonderful experience enjoyed by us all - 15yr old said “I love it here I’d come back every year”. Thanks to Mike and Helen for great communication throughout.

My Children and I travel the UK and stay in all sorts of places. Halsteads is a little out of the way but we love that. The views are awesome and light pollution at night time is minimal too. It is such a peaceful property and we can only recommend it highly

Fabulous views, great location, lovely bungalow

The first impression on arrival is of the location with the stunning views up to the peaks of the Southern Lakes and across the estuary of Duddon Bay... The bungalow is comfortable and very will equipped with a great pub (The Ship Inn) just a minute's walk away down the hill, although the return journey may be a tad longer... Would definitely return!

Excellent!

Halsteads is a warm, comfortable and spacious cottage with a vast number of thoughtful ‘extras’ provided. When we arrived on an unseasonably chilly evening the heating was on and tea/coffee-making supplies were waiting for us, all of which we greatly appreciated. The beds are extremely comfortable, there is plenty of off-road parking space, and the views from the kitchen and day lounge are magnificent. In addition, the garden is beautiful, definitely the best-kept of any cottage we have stayed in for a very long time, and a choice of seating in different areas meant was usually possible to find a sheltered spot somewhere outside. Altogether Halsteads is a delightful discovery and we definitely hope to return. Thank you so much, Helen and Mike, for enabling us to have a wonderfully relaxed holiday in your lovely, comfortable and well-maintained cottage.

Awesome holiday at Halsteads with lovely views..

This holiday home was not just another cottage..it was extremely beautiful. Every minute detail in the house seems to be decorated with love and care. It suggests that the owners are really passionate about each bit in the house. We were a group of 8 with age range over 60 and under 6 and each of us enjoyed thoroughly. We will definitely recommend our friends to choose Halsteads when they visit Lake District. Thanks.

Comfortable and relaxing house in peaceful location with great views

This is an ideal base to explore the South Lakes and wider area. The house itself is comfortable, warm and relaxing with plenty of parking space, pretty gardens and stunning views of the mountains and the beautiful Duddon Estuary. The house sits in a pretty part of the village of Kirkby-in-Furness, close to the edge of the estuary and the station. Trains provide regular services up and down the lovely Cumbrian Coast line with connections to Lancaster and Carlisle on the West Coast Mainline. Close by towns of Ulverston, Broughton-in-Furness and Dalton-in-Furness have lots to offer in the way of eating out and independent shops. Coniston, Windermere and the more 'classic' parts of the Lakes are only a short drive away (30 to 40 minutes).

great property, great location, great views

The property was great. Spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. The kitchen had all the appliances you could wish for. There was also a large bathroom and three good sized bedrooms. The views from the property were magnificent, you really didn't need to go anywhere. The railway station 2 minutes walk down the road, meant that our car had a rest for the week, as there were many places to visit on the coastal railway between Barrow and Carlisle. We had an excellent time and look forward to returning.

Halsteads is a warm and welcoming base from which to explore the local area and the further flung regions of The Lake District. The property is well equipped and can accommodate up to 8 easily (we were 2 families of 2 adults and 2 children). Whilst the interior is a little dated, it is clean, comfortable and more than made up for by the amazing views of the fells, mountains and estuary. We would definitely recommend a stay here!

The cottage is near to Coniston Water which has an exciting outdoor activities, such as visiting Wild Cat Island where the book "Swallows and Amazons" takes place. The Wordsworth's house in Rydal Mount is less than one hour driving. It's worth a visit besides spending a day in Windermere Lake. When locked in the cottage because of the weather, the cottage itself is a wonderful place for indoor activities. It has many board games and entertainment options.

Best washing-up view in England!

We have stayed at Halsteads many times over the last 11 years, often with friends and relatives coming along to join us for part of the week. It's the perfect chill-out venue with glorious views over the Duddon estuary and towards the Lakeland fells. The bungalow is incredibly well-equipped (better than our own home in some respects!) and there are plenty of games, jigsaws and books should the rain set in. But we've always been quite lucky with the weather and enjoy sitting outside drinking in the sun and the views. There are many wonderful walks nearby or further afield - with plenty of maps and leaflets as guides. Most people who stay at Halsteads make repeat visits.
