This terraced cottage rests on the outskirts of Coniston in the Lake District and can sleep five people in three bedrooms.
Acorn Cottage is one of a row of eight terraced cottages, formerly owned by the author Beatrix Potter, on the outskirts of Conistion in the Lake district. The property has three bedrooms; two doubles and a single, sleeping five guests. The property also has a family bathroom, a shower room, a kitchen/diner and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside is ample off-road parking and an enclosed garden with lawn, patio and furniture. Acorn Cottage offers a tranquil base for a Lake District holiday.
Amenities: Electric heating with woodburning stove. TV, selection of books and WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Patio and shared lawned garden with furniture, privately owned shed for storage. One well-behaved pet. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 3 miles, Pub 1.5 miles. Please Note: This property is on a private water supply. Please Note: As this is a country property wi fi speeds are high enough for web browsing but may not be high enough for gaming , due to the property location there is no mobile phone signal. The property does have a landline.
Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Town: The scenic village of Coniston is surrounded by lovely Lake District National Park scenery, making it a superb base for touring. Located at the head of Coniston Water, nearby tourist attractions of Hawkshead, Ambleside, Windermere and Grasmere are all just a short drive away. There are superb walking, mountain biking and climbing opportunities on Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam, with lovely woodland trails at Grizedale Forest. For watersports enthusiasts, the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondolaâ. Nearby attractions include the award-winning village of Hawkshead, home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery, Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin, Tarn Hows, one of the most visited beauty spots in the country and Esthwaite Water, famous for its fishing.
