It was absolutely beautiful and the owner is responsive and immensely kind! The caretaker of the property could be more attentive to details .. several lights were out, and floors were left unclean. The owner is a star! So welcoming and kind! She was so wonderful to let my son propose while we were there! I want the share a picture of the proposal but don't know where to send it to! The most romantic sunsets are here! Thank you! Tried the leave the place even cleaner than we found it ')
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Breakwater Village. We had all of he amenities we could have needed, great access to the beach and cutest neighborhood!
We really enjoyed this stay. The house was clean and had a good beach feel. It was in walking distance of the private beach and Judith point light house. Not tons of traffic in the area made it easy to walk outside. Great sea food options with in a close drive.
We had a wonderful time...pocation is amazing and the cottage was perfect! Communication with the owner was top noch, we are 100% staying here again!!!
This adorable little cottage offered us a great family vacation. The house was spotless and had plenty of room for our family of four. Just a short walk to the beach which was quiet and relaxing with two children under 5.
Some property maintenance issues and some simple landscaping may be a suggestion.
Very affordable and great location. Could use some outdoor landscaping
care. Needs some maintenance Inside with some plumbing issues and leaks. inside.
Five minutes walk on quiet streets to private sands: it was a holiday weekend and there were at most a dozen people on the beach! Remarkable! Comfortable cottageâŠ
Iâll never rent anywhere else!
Wonderful stay. Place was clean and the location gorgeous
We stayed for 3 nights end of January. Our first time in the area, and only 2nd time I use Vrbo. The cottage is near so many things and beautiful nearby beaches. From one of the rooms we could see the ocean. The place was warm, cozy and clean. Perfect for a small family or 2 couples. I would stay in it again for sure.
Our small family had a wonderful time at this house! It was perfectly sized and kept nicely clean. The entire experience was very welcoming. Unlike other rentals that give you a single roll of toilet paper and also ask you to bring all of you own linens, this home was fully stocked with everything we could need. The owner was responsive to our questions and very courteous. The entire vacation experience was so pleasant!
Bright and clean, great neighborhood. Kitchen didn't have hand towels only paper towels and no bowls bigger than a cereal bowl if you want to cook anything that requires mixing. I did pick some up at the Dollar Store and left them behind for the next guests.
The location is perfect! The house looks like the owner has not put enough effort at maintaining it. Armoires in the bedrooms have drawers that are falling apart. Mess of towels and sheets in many of the drawers, and inside the armoires, a bag of someone's clothes under the sink, no can opener, mold in the outdoor shower and outside the house (a power wash?)
Don't know I would want to rent there unless some changes are made.
Celebrating a birthday milestone with college roommate in winter
Even though the weather wasnât the best in January, the location was perfect for area restaurants & local sights. Narragansett Beach with its beautiful boardwalk, ocean views and Coast Guard Restauant were wonderful spots to visit. Also drove to Watch Hill and walked its expansive, level shoreline even in the mist. Charlestown Breachway was spectacular in any weather - great sea air and the wind almost blew us off the rocks - always an adventure. The cottage was the perfect size for us - 2 adults, tucked away in the village and very quiet. I would recommend traveling to it in daylight, even with GPS, it was tricky to find in the dark. Also a trip to the Chamber of Commerce off Rt 1 in Westerly, would supply the cottage with ample maps of the area and info of upcoming event. It would be extremely helpful for future guests and would be incredibly welcomed. Jain Gavin
The only difficulty was not knowing how to get the Tv to workâŠâŠalthough the instructions on the refrigerator said to go to hdmi2 that never worked and anything else I did didnât work eitherâŠ.. so no tv at all.
Not ideal for winter and cold weather. When I arrived, patio where the key to enter home is located was covered in ice. Owner did not see fit to think of throwing salt for my safety & couldnât get any salt or anyone down there to do it. Lots of wind coming into the house from the back door. Then toilet was flooded. Wasted the whole day for a repair man to come fix it and when he came I didnât hear him knock the door (apparently), he saw my car there, so he left and would not come back (at that point I had enough) owner agreed to refund the rest of my stay and I went to a hotel. Also, the extra bed covers smelled like weed. Owner lives out of state and isnât able to take care of problems in the winter (and there were many because of the weather). Flooding in the area may have caused the toilet to overflow.
Thank you for considerating renting the cottage. It is a very special place and if you end up staying, you will know what I mean by that.
I love being on and near the water. I live in Key West and I am actually living on the water, part of the time in a floating home and the other part of the time on a 65 foot wooden schooner. To say I am spoiled is an understatement. The ocean is in my blood: I grew up in Fairfield County and have lived in many of the seacost towns, from Old Greenwich to Old Lyme.
As for my work, I am a Jewelry Designer and Recruiter in the fashion industry. Design is my passion and I collaborated with a multitalented contractor to build the inside of the home. Then I got to design and decorate which was a joy.
Having lived on the water for most of my life, I'm selective about places to stay, beaches and the water nearby. This house and area are magical to me.
