The home was very comfortable, attractive, clean and well-maintained, and the nicely landscaped pool area was a great place to swim and relax. Ferney is an excellent host. He provided all of the information we needed upon our arrival, and was highly responsive when we had questions and requests. The house is located in the Old Northwood neighborhood which is a great place to visit with its many historical homes and proximity to downtown West Palm Beach and Palm Beach. We would happily stay there again on our next visit to West Palm Beach and would recommend the property without reservation.
The pictures here are good but they dont really capture just how incredible this place is. You are greeted with the amazing smell of the Ylang Ylang tree as you walk to the door. Once inside you find the charm and the type of rental that makes you never want to leave. The things I look for in a home away from home are all here. The queen-sized master bed was as comfortable as my bed at home so no miserable back pain or lack of sleep. I thi k it is a memory foam type mattress but did not verify. The master shower? Wow! Phenomenal water pressure, huge and 2 heads. Being 6'2", my only complaint of this house is that the heads are a shade low for me, not a deal breaker by any stretch though. The kitchen appliances surpass any that we have ever used. The stove is absolutely amazing. The yard was extremely peaceful and amazingly quiet and relaxing for being in such a busy area. Loved everything about the pool as well. The sheets, towels, soap, shampoo, etc. are first class. Huge, thick towels, sheets that won't let you leave the bed, and pillows that wrap around and complete the snuggle process. The AC was cold, showers were never-ending hot water, and theg do have a Keurig for coffee. Bring your own ice though.I highly recommend and will be staying here again as it is close to everything I need at Bascom Palmer.Fernie was a very oncredibly polite and checking on us without being intrusive at all. Thank you for being such a great host.
Very nice property with all amenities needed. Ferney was a great host, communicated well and was extremely nice. Location was quiet and easy to get to. Old world feel definitely with decor and style of the house, very nice.
My colleague and I traveled into town to photograph a wedding in Jupiter FL. I wanted a place that would offer us each our own bedroom and bathroom and space to unwind. The pool sealed the deal. Ferney and his wife were so kind, communicative and helpful. The spaces were clean and comfortable. The property grounds are aesthetically on point and the furnishing: are very cool, Highly recommend!
Our family really enjoyed our stay here. It is centrally located nicely between the West Palm beach downtown and also Rivera Beach/Singer Island. Very cozy and quaint place located in a nice quiet neighborhood. If ever coming back to this area, we will definitely try to stay at this VRBO listing again.
We had such a wonderful time! The home was beautiful and well appointed. Loved ending our day sitting around the pool. Ferney was super responsive and we will be back next year! Thank you so much!
Sweet Getaway in a lovely historic, West Palm neighborhood
Beautiful house in a quaint neighborhood. There are 2 other tiny houses on the property where other guests were staying and we shared the outdoor spaces. We happened to enjoy those guests-so we had a laughing good time with them:)) Ferney (owner) was wonderful! He responded promptly to my texts. Issues were small and not even worth mentioning. I highly recommend!
We loved our stay. The home has everything you need to have a wonderful stay. We grilled on the first night, cooked on the second night and enjoyed the pool everyday. Just a wonderful get away and perfect spot to visit students at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
We loved our stay for the week of Christmas! Great location, convenient to both the beach & all the restaurants we wanted to go to, beautiful home, pool was a welcome retreat every day. Would recommend & definitely stay again if we come back to the area.
We needed to evacuate our home in Clearwater when hurricane Milton hit. We found this property on vrbo and grabbed it. Our original booking needed to increase by two days (one on the front end and one in the back) and our host graciously allowed us to add these days with no issues.
There was also some weather here during our stay and the host was extremely communicative. I recommend this property 10/10!
From checking in to leaving, it was seamless. The house and property are beautiful and well taken care of. The neighborhood is quiet and we had a wonderful time walking and exploring the neighborhood. Weâll definitely come back when we visit PBI again.
Hi, I stayed at this house for only 2 days of the 6 days I booked. This listing is portrayed as a private residence which it is not. Random people were on and off of the property without notification - one even saw me naked through the bedroom sliding door. I was also informed 2 days in that a party of 10 were going to be staying in the shack next to the pool for the weekend (again, the pool deck looks directly into the bedroom sliding glass door). Many of our items were moved when we were away from the house and multiple doors opened and closed while we were laying down in bed at night. The owner and VRBO have been âworkingâ on my refund for over a week. My recommendation: book a through another platform or better yet, check out the hotels in the palm beach area. Vrbo has been such a headache to work with for the refund and cannot be bothered to be concerned with guest safety.
This is a 1930-era, white stucco, red tiled roof bungalow (at one point a former school) with a pool and beautifully landscaped grounds in a quiet, historic neighborhood north of downtown West Palm Beach. There is plenty of room, with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, dining room, kitchen, and a small den. The place has lots of character and is well-maintained. Being in a residential area, is a bit of a walk from the home to anything commercial such as restaurants, so one should plan to have a car or to Uber to most places. The (remote) host was quick to respond to questions. Recommended!
Ferney and skip were great hosts. I had a problem with the bbq and it was replaced the next day. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked. We hosted family for dinner on multiple occasions.
My name is Ferney Lopez and my wife (Geovanna) and I love to travel. If I were to retire today I would spend most of my time traveling and trying different foods from around the world. Since I can't afford that luxury yet, I'm a web designer/graphic designer by trade. My wife is a paralegal and real estate agent.
We have stayed in enough places to know what people like and want from their vacation experience. When we purchased Vieja Escuela we knew that it would be a success because its proximity to the airport, downtown, restaurants, beach and other entertainment venues. We fell in love with the charm and character of this house and wanted to turn it into a vacation paradise. What gives this home its character are all the rustic features and decor to match it. We understand that many people want to experience the latest technology and shiny new floors and amenities, but there's something about the imperfections of old home that make it alluring.
The proximity to shops, entertainment and restaurants make this place a great choice for families. We have paid attention to detail when selecting the furniture so that it would compliment the Spanish-style home. The pool renovation has really brought the house to life so that our guests can enjoy Florida's beautiful weather.
