This was a great little cabin that was relaxing and peaceful. We loved the proximity to the Red Rocks Amphitheater but it was far enough away to be relaxing. Communication with host was wonderful.
This cabin was just perfect for us! I love the eclectic taste, the character and being surrounded by nature on a mountain! It had everything we needed to be comfortable. I would definitely stay again. One of my favorite parts was being visited by a small chipmunk in the morning. He was very friendly. We named him Alvin.
This was the perfect place for our stay while visiting family who live nearby. The cabin was quaint and quiet with just enough space for the three of us. Directions were excellent as well as communication to us from the host. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, and my 9 year old found the futon comfortable.
The cabin is beyond adorable and its remote location creates a beautiful & tranquil setting. We loved spending time on the porch, it was the best part of the visit. The weather was beautiful and we certainly enjoyed the outside. Especially since the cabin heats up during the day and the bedroom windows were sealed shut with plastic. Overall, the cabin was tidy though, we found many items were dusty/soiled; carpets, curtains, bedspread, & refrigerator. Perhaps, a spring cleaning is upcoming? We appreciated the prompt communication with the owner. She was always quick with a reply.
The experience at the cabin was very interesting the surroundings are very beautiful and the host was very welcoming. You need a four-wheel-drive Vehicle to get easy access to the property a decent property for the cost but the main bed is not very comfortable.
The property is exactly as described: a quaint cabin with a bumpy drive! It suited our needs perfectly: we chose the area for its proximity to Red Rocks Amphitheater as we were in town to see Bonnie Raitt. During our stay, we enjoyed a couple of meals at Crossroads and some hikes at Staunton State Park.
We arrived a little early, but the cabin was open and we made ourselves at home (even though Vita told us they weren't completely done with the cleaning, that was fine with us). Our first night there, the internet was out. I contacted Vita and received a prompt reply and updates. We had a mule deer and her fawn greet us our first morning!
First off, the description of the road is a major understatement. If you do not have a raised 4x4, you have no chance of making it to the cabin. Even with our Jeep Wrangler we had trouble sometimes.
To be knit picky: the cabin is a little old and musty, and there are stains everywhere. There are only 3 windows with a screen on them, which is sufficient for circulation, but itâd be nice to air it all out without fear of letting in some of the wildlife. We did see and catch a mouse, which wasnât a big deal cause we were up in the mountains and expected to see life up there. The pullout mattress is folded in the kitchen and is full of mouse droppings. My wife and I were going to pull it out and use it because the main bed was so uncomfortable but decided to put it back after seeing that. We also wish there was a place to store our clothes; the drawers in the bedroom were being used for things already.
But the location of the cabin really outweighs the bad. Conifer is 15 minutes away with grocery stores, food, state parks, and horseback riding. Getting off the mountain towards Denver only takes 30-45 minutes and going the other way you can get to mount princeton in less than 2 hours with hot springs and lots of cool stops on the way. Bailey is also 15 minutes away with a Sasquatch outpost and other little stores. Itâs a great stop for a getaway. One of our days got rained out so we stayed in the cabin all day and watched movies on the tv. So it is really great for whatever you want. You wonât be bugged by other people but the host does live about 50 feet away. They keep to themselves and you canât hear them. I only saw them once.
Communication with the host was very nice, she was very responsive and friendly. We did get a message around 6 on our checkout day of when weâd be checking out and our wifi ârandomlyâ shut off a little after that.
Everything you would hope for in a cabin up in the mountains. Great views. Enough close by to keep you properly fed and watered. Close proximity to most major highways to travel in all direction. Highly recommend. Extremely accommodating and makes it an easy in an out. The owners are very pleasant and live near by to help with anything you need. Going back for certain.
Great little cabin in the woods. They "highly recommend" all-wheel/4-wheel drive, but its really required. Not just for the drive way, but for the road leading up to the home! The place was great for two people who are okay sleeping in the same bed and spending most of their time away from the cabin. Wifi worked great, and the ambiance is perfect, although there were some little misses throughout the stay. The freezer was a bit dirty inside, but it the rest of the home was clean. The top sheet was old and had a rip in it as well as a musty sheet smell. Not ideal. The drain to the shower/tub was also very slow so water collected in the bottom during the shower, but eventually it did drain out. Overall though, it was a nice stay.
Only there for 2 nights, views awesome, made it in with a car but as suggested an SUV would be better. Rustic cabin, cozy and comfortable. Could use a few updates (I e. Shower curtains, towels, flooring). If using wood stove newspaper/ kindling would be safer than lighter fluid.
The cabin was clean, the neighbor was very quiet. It was a great place to just get away from the city, and relax. The owners house is only about 100 feet from the cabin. Check in was simple. The cabin had everything we needed. The bed was a little bowed down in the center, but other than that,I woud recommend this cabin.
This was the perfect little mountain escape for my husband and i! The water was hot, the woodburning stove worked well and the kitchen was well stocked. hosts were easy to get a hold of when we had cell service. Thanks so much for the stay!
