Cabin Bascom / Luxe dans les moindres détails! New Central HVAC & King Master Suite!

We enjoyed our week in the nest for two! On a rainy late afternoon we checked into the cottage "in the trees" - welcomed by warm lamp light. First impression is very nice - just as pictured with cute red furniture accents. The location is convenient for a long walk into downtown Highlands. The kitchen is equipped to cook. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed, soft linens and well appointed bathroom. The 2nd bathroom comes in handy. There are two gas fireplaces in the cottage, and the 2nd bedroom contains the washer/dryer, but perfect to use as a dressing room/laundry. Excellent communication with owners - very fast, and any issues resolved pronto. The only suggestion for improvement is that it's probably time to refresh the well-enjoyed living room upholstery, couch pillows, throws and bedroom coverlet. We would definitely stay in the Nest for Two again. Thank you!

We had a girls trip to Highlands for shopping. The Bascom cottage is great and walking distance to the Bascom Art Center, too. The cottage is also ideal for a romantic getaway for a couple. We only wish that the owners had an information sheet about where things were, what to have prepared at checkout, wifi password, etc. Usually homes will have a binder or info sheet for the guests to review. Some of those things we had to search for in the house. Otherwise the house was furnished nice and it was enjoyable. Just be mindful, too, that you're in the mountains and the plumbing can run a bit slow sometimes.

As advertised, clean, fast internet

The Bascom Cabin was nicely located to town and walking trails. The cabin was nicely furnished and very cozy. We would come back to the cabin again.

Staying at the Bascom cottage turned our escape from the Florida heat into an amazing six week vacation. The cottage itself is totally comfortable. It didn’t take very long before we felt like it was our home. Everything we could possible want was supplied. It’s not your basic cottage. Instead it is beautifully appointed making us feel we were living in a most special retreat!! The neighborhood is lovely with its winding lanes and lush flowers. We were only there two nights before receiving an invitation to a neighborhood party. We spent a great deal of time in the gorgeous yard relaxing, reading, and grilling. The location is perfect for walking to most destinations in town. The owners were attentive and friendly which added to the ease of staying at the rare find. We are already booked for next summer. If you are looking for the perfect cottage in Highlands, NC, this is it!!!
