Beautiful cabin. Clean and well stocked. Easy check in. Great development with an excellent waterfall and private lake. No complaints at all. I think it should be mentioned that the roads to get to the cabin are a climb for a flat lander like me ( Iâm from Florida). Probably not out of the ordinary for the mountains. Highly recommend. I will definitely stay again. I only mention the climb so if you are not used to such roads you can be prepared.
We had an absolutely lovely time. The house was immaculate and was stocked beyond measure with everything that you couldâve thought you wanted and forgot to pack. We appreciated how isolated the house was, to have our own little retreat. We even got to see a Mama Bear and her two little cubs. We LOVED the waterfalls and hiking opportunities.
Cozy, just as described, and a great getaway place. Woodstove and lots of firewood provided. Kitchen well equipped for cooking in. Nice walk from cabin to lake, and good hike to waterfall on proprty.
Great property- loved our stay!! Our family really enjoyed being able to hike to the waterfall & lake right from the cabin. Alex was very responsive & great with communication. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!
Fantastic stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. Very quiet area between Mt
Mitchell and Castle Rock state parks. The home suited my family perfectly!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice in a beautiful setting. We especially enjoyed the walks to the lake and waterfall, and just hanging out together on the porch or in the living/dining area. The hosts were very responsive and helpful.
My family and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and had the most relaxing and wonderful time. The house is very clean and cozy and fully stocked with everything we needed and more. The property is beautiful and we loved walking to see the waterfall! The drive to downtown Asheville was not bad at all and we loved being able to stay somewhere more secluded and explore nature!
Stayed here with family and it was a great place for us. Good amount of space for everyone to spread out while still being near each other. Great location with a couple of trails and a pond nearby and close enough to Asheville to not feel too remote. Good communication with the host too. We enjoyed our stay!
Extremely quiet location. Somewhat remote, great if you want to "get away" from everything. Community has mountain lakes, waterfalls and trails but be prepared for steep climbs and frequent bear sightings. Owner was very easy to reach and communicate with.
The cabin is fantastic and the natural beauty of the neighborhood is incredible. We swam and fished in the lake, hiked the trails and played in the âprivateâ waterfall. We even saw a family of black bears in the road. We did visit a few good little towns that are just a relatively short drive away from the cabin.
The house was beautiful, clean, and fully outfitted with all the appliances needed for wonderful weekend (bring your own blender if you think you might want one). It's just a few short minutes from Lake George, walking just down the road. It's quiet, peaceful, and beautiful in all directions. The road leading to the cabin is long and narrow, akin to a very long driveway- but that's not a negative, as every turn takes you further from the noise of civilization. All the furniture was comfortable, and the internet access, if needed, worked just fine too. We've got no complaints, and fully intend for the place to be a first option if we ever wish to stay in a place like it again. And we would, in a heartbeat. The owner, though they live far away, were attentive to our communications, and quite polite and accommodating too! There's nothing quite like waking up in the morning in this place, and opening up the double doors, and relaxing with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds, and the total lack of ambient noise from any cars nearby. It was the closest we've been to paradise in a long while.. Our friends and family had a great time, and our kids will remember it too, a wonderful foundational memory that they can hold onto forever.
Our visit was amazing. The cabin was all that was promised. Very clean. The firepit was wonderful and we had more than enough firewood for the week. We really enjoyed walking down to the lake and the waterfall trail. Alex was a wonderful host. We are already planning our return visit. Thanks Alex.
There were a couple of issues that the owner was unaware of his response to rectifying the issue was swift and generous! I can not say enough good things about it. Loved our stay....beautiful!!
We stayed during our spring break with our dog and 4 kids. We had a FANTASTIC time! The lake and trails were a big hit. It is an easy walk to the waterfall with breathtaking views. Our dog loved the lake (a little to cold for the kids, but they tried!) The house was stocked with everything we needed, and more. We are already planning our next visit!!!
The fire was cozy! Everything that we needed was there and the waterfall was so close and perfect. Alex is super responsive. We would love to come back!
We had a blast walking the trail to the waterfalls. The house had the conveniences of a home and a lot of toys for our small kids. This property is far up into mountain, providing a very quiet, serene experience.
This is a beautiful home and area. We took our dog on many enjoyable and peaceful walks. The house has everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. Thanks for letting us enjoy your lovely home.
We are from Wisconsin. We bought our NC property in 2018 when our kids were just babies. We moved back to WI in 2022 to be near family and for our kids to start school. NC became our forever home though and we could not give up our place when we moved back. It's where our daughter took her first steps, we got our first dog, and fell in love with the mountains. It feels like home every time we return.
A job brought us to the Old Fort area. And it turned out to be the perfect location for us. We have loved watching Old Fort develop. Every time we return there is something new coming to the area, whether its new trails, restaurants, or breweries. You are surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and parks to explore. And it's a short scenic ride to towns/cities like Black Mountain, Lake Lure, and Asheville. These surrounding areas are filled with art, history, and locally sourced food.
After looking at other properties, we knew as soon as we walked into the cabin that it was exactly what we were looking for and more.
A log cabin has a cozy, peaceful vibe. A crackling fireplace on rainy cold days. Swinging on the porch while taking in the view and enjoying a cup of tea. Waking in the morning to sunrays filling the house. Then preparing breakfast surrounded by loved ones.
Bonus! Its within walking distance to a lake and waterfall!
It brings the simplicity and tranquility that we needed in our life so that we could focus on our family and well being.
