Wawona road out of the valley was no joke! We were so happy to finally have space and solitude! We walked to the little store and enjoyed some quality time together. It was really nice not having to go more than 10 minutes to Mariposa Grove, and stay within the park!
Dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Not clean. Very dust. No hot water or heater. Manager fixed water heater at 10 pm first night had to use floor heaters to heat the place.
It was a wonderful spot right in Yosemite! Easy access to the village, the place was perfect for exactly what we needed which was a place to rest after a long day on the trails. Nothing flashy but perfect for a functional living space.
Our family for 4 enjoyed the stay in this cabin. Had everything we needed. WiFi was slow but reliable. Only comment is that the hallway toilet constantly leaksâwhile it didnât affect the function of the toilet, the management should consider fixing given the severe drought conditions in California.
Place had everything we needed. Right down to kitchen utensils and BBQ Utensils. And bathrooms were in good shape. Within 25-28 miles to everything we needed to see. Plenty of couches for 6 people to be comfortable. Would recommend for sure.
The cabin was exactly as advertised and well suited our family of five. Comfortable and well stocked with the essentials. The back patio deck is great with a BBQ and table and chairs. We had our coffee there every morning, BBQ'd for dinner, and sat outside on the deck as a family each night. There is a little market in the neighborhood where we were pleasantly surprised to find a marinated tri-tip and other things for dinner. The cabin is just under an hour from Curry Village and Yosemite Village so it was a bit of a drive to the hiking and other things we did during the day. And, there is no central air, so it was hot in the cabin during the day, but we were out all day. The evenings cooled down and they supplied plenty of fans, so it was pretty comfortable at night, although one night was a bit warmer than ideal. All in all, we had a great family weekend at the cabin and in Yosemite and recommend this cabin if you don't mind staying a outside of the main spots of Yosemite.
Itâs a very cozy place. It had enough heaters to warm up the house. The kitchen was stocked. Very quiet and close to local stores. The lighting in the house was not the brightest. But for us it was perfect. The managers were very accommodating. Thanks again.
The location was great. Very conveniently located within the park.
The cabin was average. The central heat didn't work. There were old, noisy space heaters everywhere. They should upgrade to central heat.
The kitchen drawer was broken so it was tilted inside; very sloppy.
I don't usually leave reviews, especially bad ones, but I felt like I needed to warn people of this host. We were looking forward to spending my friend's 30th birthday at this cabin this past summer. With all the wild fires going on, I messaged the host one week prior and they stated the fires were no where close to the cabin.
We did our own research and there were fires nearby, but we couldn't tell how close so we continued our trip plans. Yosemite valley and the surrounding area was under dangerous air quality because the fire was 6 miles away.
We had no service. So we got to the cabin to use wifi and try to cancel the reservation. No response. When arriving the key lock box was open without key, front and back doors were open and the living areas were not cleaned. We did not feel safe. The house keeping staff lived next door and were very apologetic and stated they thought the area was too dangerous for guests to be staying at the cabin and didn't know we were coming. Since the host was not responding and it was getting late, we stayed one night.
The host refused to give a refund stating there was no fire nearby.
After weeks of corresponding with VRBO, they made her give us a one night refund due to the house not being ready and for a nearby natural disaster.
It was the worst experience with a rental company host I've ever had. The host was not understanding, would hang up the phone on me and not reply to messages when her guests were in an unsafe situation. She did not care, she only wanted the money.
Don't stay here.
Nice place in Wawona, although without AC, itâs almost impossible to stay
The place is nice with a well-built deck that almost makes you feel that you are in the midst of a forest. However, thereâs no AC, and during our visit, when the outside temperature hit the high nineties, it was almost impossible to stay. When we would return to the place after a long day of hikes and sightseeing, the place will be intolerably hot. Even with all the fans running, it became impossible to sleep anywhere... I wouldnât recommend going there on hot days. Also, there were large red ants crawling out of the vents and this made for an unpleasant experience. Finally, there was a large bug that had somehow entered the home and was flying everywhere... we were kept on our toes trying to make sure we donât come in itâs way. They should have removed this bug before our arrival. We lived with this bug for three days since itâs difficult to remove... the outside deck is perhaps the saving grace.
We had a wonderful time at this cute & cozy cabin. Found everything we needed (kitchen is well equipped, enough towels, comfy beds,...). Beautiful deck with nice view.
Only 4 stars because house wasnât ready for check in at 7pm. Everything else was awesome. Whole family is back recharged and relaxed.
I received multiple emails during the week prior to our stay that I would receive an email with a welcome packet and check-in instructions. I never received any check-in instructions. The day of, I called the phone number on the listing and spoke to a woman who seemed like the messenger for the property manager.
When I called and said we were ready to check-in and I asked for check-in instructions, I was told that the house wasnât done being cleaned and that we could come to the house at 5:30pm, but check-in on the listing says 4:00pm. We were very unhappy about that, especially since we just finished an 8-hour drive getting to Yosemite.
