Cozy cabin tucked away on the South Fork Skykomish River
Cozy cabin that is fairly isolated from other residents on the NE side of the South Fork Skykomish River. Cabin was clean and well stocked with amenities. Close to hiking trails and other mountain activities. Only critiques are the beds are uncomfortable and the smell of creosote from the bridge ties when you're out on the deck is quite strong. Still, would recommend if you're looking for a quiet getaway, next to a river to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.
This home was clean and well stocked. River view was amazing. The water pressure was not very good and since we stayed during winter the heating was important to us. Cabin stayed warm. All of the beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom was freezing cold.
Anaolutely gorgeous cabin at the base of Stevens Pass. This home is in the optimal spot to take a scenic drive through the Cascades, spend a day in Seattle or make a day trip to the coast. The host is wonderful. Very determined to ensure her guest have the best stay. She is very responsive to questions and offers excellent recommendations. Highly recommend a stay here if visiting the area. If we ever vist again, we will be looking to stay here!
The cabin was every bit as beautiful and cozy as the description listed. Itâs easy to get to, but nestled in the mountains in a way that makes it feel completely remote. The area was quiet and beautiful and directly on the river. Clean, fully stocked and lovely outdoor space. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Stayed for an extended weekend (Friday-Monday) at the end of May for our Anniversary. Found the listing while browsing, and fell in love with with the pictures. Initially we booked for a Fri-Sun. I requested a late checkout and the hostess was glad to work with us. Later, when I realized that it was a holiday weekend, I reached back out to her and she helped us to extend the weekend until Monday. Relatively isolated (could hear occasional foot and vehicle traffic over the Baring bridge, one other cabin in sight from firepit area), the weekend was peaceful, with the breeze off the river cutting into the rising heat. Well shaded, with spots my wife could lounge like a lizard in the sunlight for. Outside there is a large, permanent fire pit, and a charcoal grill. Be aware that the landscaping around the firepit is loose rock, and some of them are a little sharp.Inside there was a wood burning fireplace (that we didn't use due to heat), comfy couches and a bedroom with second loft bed. Standing 6'1", I was pleasantly surprised by the shower (the showerhead was actually a couple inches aboce my head) as most hotels and residences it seems to have the showerhead about my chin level.Anyhow, this is getting long, and noone is going to read this far. It was a great weekend, great location and we highly recommend.
Had a good time. Hiking and relaxing on the porch next to the river. BBQ qas charcoal, and there was not enough charcoal there to BBQ. Maybe inform guests prior to visit?
Not being close to a store that might carry said item was great but, inconvenient for having to find something like charcoal. Power went out the last night, luckily there were LED candles and a couple flashlights(even though one had the batts. go out after brief usage. All in all a pleasant and relaxing experience would certainly recommend this property for a vacation of any length!
The cabin is cozy and detailed, lots of fun little finds. We stayed over Labor Day weekend. My boys fished along the river and had a blast even though they didnât catch anything. The fire pit was great for sâmores. My favorite place was on the deck watching the river and drinking my morning coffee. The downside, the bridge traffic was a little noisy. We would definitely come back! Thank you!
We had an unusual stay in that the night before our arrival there was a windstorm that knocked the power out. We were almost to our destination when the owner let us know.
She offered us a full refund or to reschedule but we decided to make it an adventure and stay unsure when the power would come back on. The cabin is equipped with a wood burning fire place and lots of candles so it ended up being really fun! The lanterns lit up the couch area so we could sit and read. The ambiance was amazing.
Throughout that day, the evening and the following day we kept an eye out on when the power was scheduled to come back on and they kept pushing it out. The only real concern was the refrigerator and freezer contents but the freezer remained refrigerator cool so we moved our food in there.
It was sort of like camping but with better accommodations.:-)
Dawn was very reachable and was concerned that we be happy with whatever we wanted to do. She was very helpful and generous with everything.
This property is beautiful and we certainly plan to return under better circumstances. The power was restored our second night. It poured down rain most of the time we were there but we were able to catch some moments of sitting and looking at the river. Will love to come back when the weather is nicer and there is power.
I highly recommend this property. The history alone is very intriguing. The cabin has everything you would need and is close to Stevens Pass and Leavenworth.
Truly enjoyed our stay in this cute, cozy cabin on the river. Beautiful views! Cabin is well stocked, everything needed was provided. Would definitely come again!
This is a great and historic cabin to stay in. Its super close to a lot of trail heads and just walking around the small neighborhood is great. Right above the water which was a lot of fun to hangout in. Easy check in process and host is very responsive. Had a great time! Would definitely stay here again in the future.
We had such a great stay at this cabin along the river! The cabin in general was very cute and cozy and the location was great for exploring the area. The only downside was that the neighboring property is very close by and it didnât feel very private when we were hanging out outside. Besides that we had a great time!
Every single one of us enjoyed this wonderful property. If it were mine I would have trouble sharing it, but we are so grateful our host did share it. We slept like babies and enjoyed every waking moment spent here, though they were not all spent here. We made use of the grill and cooked several meals here so were pleased to discover all the necessary utensils and cook ware. To be honest more than we personally needed, but surely all anyone could want. There were sufficient linens and lots of comfortable spaces as well as television and movies if rain kept us in. The only thing we didn't do was enjoy the firepit, simply because we weren't there for a longer period of time. There was more than sufficient firewood and the nights were chilly enough, we just didn't have time to enjoy it with all the other things we were doing. The host was very good at sending me information about the area and we would definitely stay there again if we came back and it were available to do so. We have stayed in a VRBO house before, but this was above and beyond. Thank you so much.
Hi, Mark and Dawn DeSalvo. We live on a boat across the water from Seattle in a town called Poulsbo. My husband works for an Airline as a commercial pilot hes also a retired Navy pilot. I'm retired from the Airlines. We love to travel and enjoy our cabin, camping in our motorhome or taking our boat out cruising the Canadian Gulf Islands and San Juan Islands.
