Quiet Spring get away
The property is well maintained with a strong emphasis on clean new interior. I did not feel like I was staying in a rental at all.
For early (cold) March when we went, we did not make use of the exterior areas but were so comfortable otherwise that we will look into staying during the summer time.
We enjoyed the house. It was perfect for two families. Owners were great with making sure everything was good.
home was clean and fully stocked with linens, dinnerware, etc. Great host kept in contact all through the stay. A++ rating.
Cozy Winter Getaway
The house is extremely clean and oh so cozy, with a snuggly blanket in every corner. And, the view! So beautiful. We saw an otter playing in the water and what we thought was eagles. The check in process was super easy and we enjoyed the goodies left for us.
Everything was perfect
We have family in the area and will try to stay here every time we visit. Cute house, beautiful view/setting, convenient to get to petoskey, harbor springs. Owners were very nice and went out of their way to bring us extra towels during our stay and were very responsive.
Food, Sips, Music and a Splash of Crooked Lake to Reminiscence
A Michigan vacation on a private lake frontage, a stylish laid-back retreat with signs of life where simplicity is part of the appeal to ‘Go Jump in the Lake’ having fun on the Offshore Bar where the sights of boats, laughter and sounds attract good vibes…the more the merrier.
We were greeted with a garden classic Annabelle Hydrangeas sitting on the table; a bold statement that guaranteed a smile and welcome along with delicious sweet & salty desserts that mysteriously and quietly showed up at the doorstep while we were out. Pleasurable touches to one’s liking, grateful gestures without words we are glad you got to escape and reconnect for some play and northern discoveries, waterfront grilling and outdoor dining with breezes and sunsets overlooking Crooked Lake and sips of beer for “Fish On” cheers, splashes of fun to choose your adventure during a relaxing stay in a lake cottage with dockage, pontoon and paddle boat to rent and enjoy, and plenty of kayaking, hiking and biking trails throughout. The waterway begins with Crooked Lake and Pickerel Lake near Petoskey, winding north to its endpoint of Lake Huron at Cheboygan River and there are locks on the Crooked River at Alanson and on the Cheboygan River, just before downtown Cheboygan. Although we realize it is not up to the owners to educate us on the waters we were reminded that you should always inquire about the types of water you’ll be boating and the depths and low points to avoid causing damages to your boat; the sandbars are great for social gatherings but can sneak up on you.
We had a couple of questions during our stay and it just so happened that the owners of the rental were close by. They had just taken ownership and I’m sure will be finding hiccups along the way for some fine tuning but they both were very respectful, answering our questions and always asking if they could come onto the property. They were very knowledgeable about the lakes and surrounding areas and we thank them for the joy and delight of staying at such a lovely cottage and we would consider booking thru them again. We think visitors who enjoy the winter months would find this a great spot as well making this rental cottage a versatile year-round spot packing good times to kindle new traditions food, sips, music and a splash of Crooked Lake to reminiscence.
