Another awesome two weeks at this lovely location! Checking in is super-easy, it's very clean, everything works great, and the view from the backyard can't be beat. Thanks for another great stay!
Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and charming and the grounds are breathtaking! The view is amazing! The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathrooms were clean and more than sufficient for our extended family of 12, the living spaces were very cozy and brought us all together. The outdoor shower was a big plus! The hosts were friendly, responsive, and easy to get in touch with. We are hoping to return next year. Highly recommend!
This is Not one of those listings that looks amazing online but different in person; quite the opposite! The views are spectacular and the house is a slice of history with added charm and character. The host was super accommodating to our special request ⊠we were instantly regretting not adding an extra day to our stay!
What a fantastic family getaway! We couldn't get out of the car fast enough. Some ran to the back of the house to take in the water view and magical meadow, while others went to explore this wonderful home. Everything was perfect. There's not a room in the house that doesn't have a wonderful view. Didn't do much sightseeing or eating out because we were happy as clams where we were. This a is well loved home and has provided our family with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Jed for your hospitality! We'll be back...
I stayed with a group of friends for a nearby wedding. The house was spacious and as advertised and the ocean views were a nice bonus. Jed was very communicative and check in was very easy.
This lovely colonial revival/Shingle style house from the 1920s is a rare survivor. My family all intrigued by historic architecture enjoyed the house immensely. The setting on the water with great privacy is truly remarkable. itâs hard to believe itâs such a place still exists in this era of mega mansions.
Renters should know however that the environment is very basic. Appliances are older, sometimes noisy and temperamental. The house is in need of maintenance and the bathrooms are very rudimentary. All of this does not take away from the fact that it was a truly amazing experience staying here for a week. The house and the setting are magical.
Stunning ocean views and private beach access from this special LC RI home. The property is quiet with abundant wildlife including deer, rabbits, foxes and birds. We identified 14 songbirds in a few minutes. The house was built in 1929 and offers ample space for our group of nine. We will be back.
We had a fabulous time at this property. It was stunning even with the beginning of the trip being overcast and foggy. A true step back in time in this antique home surrounded by lush wildflower gardens and grounds full of birds and bunnies and deer. The ocean was powerful and the sounds of the sea and birds was hypnotic from morning to night. We loved walking the rocky beach looking for the most interesting rocks we could find. We even swam in low tide as the water was warmer than expected! The home truly has not been updated so you have to walk in with an appreciation for the way things were and enjoy the simple life. We will be back!
The house and ocean view are magnificent. Everything you could possibly need is there. The house is welcoming the living room was our favorite room plenty of room and a roaring fire. We plan on returning next spring.
I spent a long weekend at the classic comforting Colecot. It has the simple grandeur of a well loved beach cottage with itâs history maintained yet modernized to meet every need. Jed left the fireplace readied for a one match start and I kept the fire going throughout the weekend with the wood that was stacked in the garage. The Scrabble set was prepared on the game table, fresh flowers were left on the dining table and a menu for the delightful Groundswell Cafe provided the idea for a perfect breakfast. We were graced with a full rainbow over the water our first morning and unseasonably warm days to enjoy the well maintained property and the beach just steps away. We could not have asked for more and look forward to our return!!
We were a group of 9 adults and the house was absolutely perfect. It had real authenticity, charm and character, with everything you could need. Really felt like a home away from home. Close to lots of places to get food, especially seafood (and everyone dealing perfectly with social distancing). The backyard on to the beach was just amazing, the most breathtaking view to wake up to every morning. Very pet friendly property, lovely neighbours and Jed was super helpful from start to finish! We canât wait to come back!
The house was beautiful, and the views gorgeous. We had a great weekend getting the whole family together. Plenty of room, and the grounds were large and very private. Jed Miller was very helpful and responsive.
Property is exactly as listed. Great house for a big group. Maddy,
the contact person, was very attentive and responded immediately to all of my requests. Great spot by the water.
Spent two weeks with my family, a few days with extended family, and the house worked very well. Very casual home and private setting. Big yard for the kids to play. Everything that we hoped for in our summer vacation.
This home is perfect for a getaway with family and friends. Our grandchildren loved the large yard for playing and we enjoyed the quiet area surrounded by land conserved for wildlife habitat. The home has five bedrooms and easily accommodated 12 of us. We enjoyed the ocean, looking for rocks, eating fresh seafood, and watching the nesting redwing blackbirds. The owner responded quickly to any questions we had. We hope to go back next summer!
What a beautiful spot! The view canât get much better, watching sunsets over the water from your Adirondack chair, so peaceful and quiet.
We enjoyed the home immensely, very comfortable and homey. We canât wait to return.
Great quiet and picturesque location on the water with modern amenities and old world charm.
We stayed the weekend of 9/7 thru 9/9 and used the accommodations while attending our sonâs wedding in Bristol RI that weekend. There were 9 family members plus the groom stayed Friday evening. The house had plenty of room and I spent early mornings with brewed hot coffee on the waters edge of the property. The house is about a 20 minute drive from Route 24 and another 10 minutes to Bristol (including Roger Williams University). If youâre looking for a quiet, bucolic stay, then this will suit you. Bring plenty of food and drink because there are few opportunities to buy this stuff close by.
Overall we were very happy with our stay. Family members who stayed elsewhere were jealous of the location when they stopped by.
What a wonderful, old house! Filled with charm. Maddy made every effort to make us comfortable. The view is spectacular and we were mesmerized in every room. Thank you so much for a memorable family reunion and birthday weekend. We hope to be back and are telling all our friends.
This family property was initially built as a summer retreat. It has since been outfitted with heat and insulation and the family enjoys the house year round when it is not rented.
