Did my home work though to read the host reviews on other site, where she is a designated a premium host.
Awesome place...close to everything...grocery, gas, highways, public transit. Swift hop to Banff and beyond. Short walk to train and a quick trip to downtown and Calgary Stampede. Unbelievable sunset over the mountains.
Rekha has put a lot of care into little details which kept me amused to see how for each corner she could think and keep which we didn't even think we would need.
Being able to look out the mountains at a distance out of windows on either floor made it feel like a getaway while being in the calming and relaxed environment. The split level with broad stairs makes the unit feel much larger and spread out.Found the pool empty, so like having a private pool but big enough that when others were in.
Overall a great experience when my apartment was getting repairs.
The owners of this property went above and beyond to make our stay affordable and comfortable. I have stayed in many VRBOs and we have never experienced one with such consideration for their guests. They had so many supplies to ensure we had a comfortable and stress free stay. Including but not limited to toiletries, spices, office supplies, a Banff national park pass, et al. They were always easy to reach and accommodating to our needs.
Lovely, comfortable spot with lots of room. Easy check-in & check-out. Would definitely recommend.
Very convenient to grocery store and LRT. Parking spot is great because we had a rental vehicle.
Hi, We bought this duplex for our future retirement living. I am a high school science teacher and doing my PhD in Education. I love cooking and traveling.
Property has many features as I mentioned in the summary. But biggest catalyst I would say (which is an exception to this area, or to most of the city) is that it has a full-size saltwater indoor pool. Serenity in the pool area is so pious that you extend your stay there to relax on the side of pool on a chair and take a drink and work on your iPad or read a book. Probably that should be the biggest moat for you to book this place. My hubby would love to make such a place as his work and work out place.
i) Transit bus is outside building. 1 minute walk. ii) C Train LRT is 10 minutes walk or take the transit bus to LRT station. iii) Covered Free Parking. iv) 15-20 minutes drive to downtown. You are close to downtown but away from noise of downtown and in a residential area. v) Grocery store and restaurants are 8-15 minutes' walk and 2 min drive. vi) Dollar Store, Chapters, Starbucks etc are also in the vicinity. vii) Northland Mall, Market Mall and Walmart should be not more than 15 minutes' walk and 5-7 minute drive. viii) The University of Calgary should be 8 minutes drive or 1-2 stops over with the C Train. ix) Foothill hospital and Alberta Children Hospital are 10 minutes drive. x) Easy access to highway 1,1A & 2 for Banff, Lake Lousie, Ghost Lake, Edmonton and access to Stoney trail including Cross Iron Mills Mall. xi) Unit has extended west facing Rocky Mountain views from both of its floors. Living Room is on one floor and Master bedroom is on the higher floor with private stairs within the apartment ( see photos). xii) It has salt water indoor full size swimming pool which is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm. In addition to that it has a full gym. xiii) It has two Tennis Courts. In fact the name of the building, 'Fortress' speaks about its features and resident say that when it was built in late 80's, it was one of the best buildings in the country. xiv) Size of sub penthouse itself is 900 sq ft including patio. xv) There is plenty of additional visitor parking. xvi) When you are working from the sub-penthouse you will feel as if you are living in a resort with all facilities under one roof.
