R & R River Retreat est une belle maison de 3 chambres à coucher, 3 salles de bain, 3 étages en bois rond, située sur la rivière Coosawattee. Elle comprend: cheminée, télévision par satellite, sauna intérieur. En tant qu'un des propriétés acceptant les animaux domestiques de Sliding Rock Cabin - il n'y a pas de frais pour les animaux et dispose d'un jardin clôturé.
L'étage principal a 2 chambres à coucher, 1 salle de bain. 1 chambre a un lit king et télévision par satellite, et l'autre a une chambre queen avec lecteur DVD qui est compatible BluRay et WIFI (pas de câble).
A l'étage, la suite principale dispose d'un lit king avec plateau-coussin, d'une télévision par satellite, d'une salle de bains, d'un porche privé et d'une cafetière Keurig.
Le niveau patio a la troisième salle de bain complète, salle de jeux avec table de billard et télévision avec lecteur DVD compatible BluRay et WIFI.

Partez en randonnée sur les sentiers de montagne d'Ellijay et de Blue Ridge, essayez la pêche à la mouche, puis regardez le fleuve passer le soir ou blottissez-vous près de la cheminée et regardez un vieux film sur votre téléviseur grand écran. Peut-être dormir tard sur le lit king size à l'étage et prendre un café sur votre porche couvert privé. R & R River Retreat est une escapade parfaite pour un maximum de six personnes. Aucun propriétaire de chat n'est très allergique.

Le Coosawattee River Resort offre gratuitement: 5 parcs de la rivière pour la pêche sans permis, un hangar pour enfants, un pont suspendu et un parc pour chiens clôturé. Le pont et le parc à chiens clôturé sont tous deux accessibles à pied depuis le R & R.

Beautiful riverside retreat

We read the reviews and knew it would be a bit of a windy-road adventure getting to and from the cabin. That was ok for us, because we wanted to spend most of our time just "being" and not running around. That said, it no joke takes more than 15 minutes just to get out of the neighborhood.We loved that the whole community is basically a deer sanctuary, and we enjoyed feeding them (a couple even by hand!). The cabin had everything we needed for the relaxing vacation we wanted. What I didn't expect was there to be a campground located directly across the river. Overall it wasn't too much of a detractor but did take away from the serene atmosphere to some degree. (I think there was a scout group there the first couple nights, and there were some rowdy competitions going on one day.) I'm guessing it's less of an issue when it's not a holiday weekend.One other thing to be aware of is the steep grade down to the water. We loved sitting on the sturdy Adirondack chairs down there, but it's a bit of a hike if you forget something or need to make a couple trips.I would definitely recommend this cabin to a family with kids. For us we'd prefer something a little quieter and slightly easier to get to. Again, it was great overall!And of course we will rent from Sliding Rock again and again!!

It was our second visit and everything was great with the cabin, well stocked kitchen, great management. And the bonus was the deer who came to the feeders. The weather was beautiful and we visited Panorama Orchard and Chateau Meichtry vineyards. A great second visit and we are planning a third next year.

Nice cabin, not remote

Cabin was nice and clean. Not remote at all, there is a busy campground across the River from the cabin that was very loud and you have neighbors on both sides. The cabin had everything we needed for a four day stay and was comfortable. Despite the noise we had a very nice time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We choose Sliding Rock Cabins because they are dog friendly and it did not disappoint. The cabin was well appointed with all the little things that make staying with a dog easy. Clean and comfy. Once beyond the resort gate, the roads are narrow, paved until the very last few tenths of a mile. It was windy yet easy to get to from the directions provided, but we were not comfortable driving in the dark. We cooked at the cabin and had everything we need.

My husband’s 50th birthday!

The whole family went to the cabin to celebrate his milestone birthday. It was absolutely wonderful the owners did a great job with making it feel just like home. My only complaint is that the driveway is too steep for comfort.

Great Cabin! Pet Friendly! Very Clean! Well-stocked kitchen! Great amenities- streaming tv, jacuzzi, sauna, on-property hiking and water access, fire pit, porch swing, picnic table, fenced dog area, pool table, foozball, board games, grill, porch friendly; as well as community amenities- trails, pools, stables, gym, tennis, pickle ball, fishing, etc! Enjoying Nature

We both love the wild outdoors and we did get a treat. The sound of the water flowing down the river while sitting by our camp fire was so peaceful. Every day we were visited by several deer and squirrel's. The cabin was clean and cozy as well as packed games in case the weather ran you inside. One major plus was the rental is pet friendly, we didn't want to leave our fur baby out of the enjoyment.

The view of the river was amazing, and we laughed at the yappy dog visiting the park across the river. It was fun feeding the deer and listening to the visiting geese. In four days, the deer ate 40-pounds of feed. We've stayed at several Sliding Rock properties BECAUSE THEY ARE DOG-FRIENDLY, but R&R River Retreat is our favorite. Our dogs were safe in the fenced yard and gated porches. We look forward to returning in 2024!

I was greeted by the deer and enjoyed hand feeding them throughout the week. I bought a big bag of deer corn at the local Walmart to last a whole week. The fenced in area was nice for my bassets. The walk down to the river was not bad and I had a campfire one night. You just have to keep your eye out for the deer trying to steal your marshmallows, crackers and chocolate off the picnic table while you’re sitting around the fire. I did not use any of the river resorts amenities or the sauna in the cabin, so I can’t comment on those things. I enjoyed the local food, especially Ellijay’s little Italian street food. Plenty of hiking options. I chose the Mount LeConte in Tennessee which was 2 hours away but well worth it. (10 mile hike round trip). The Engelheim Vineyards was a great place for tasting and although tubing wasn’t convenient at the cabin, I found blue ridge tubing to be spectacular. Only inconvenience about the cabin was no broom/mop/swiffer sweeper to be found. It would have been nice to sweep up the floor during the week especially my own dogs hair.

A Place of Beauty and Rest

I can’t say enough about our stay here! It was a much needed family time. My husband, sister, brother-in-law, brother and my 80 yr old Dad stayed a week. The deer were an absolute joy to watch. We loved the River and each evening around 5pm the geese would swim up past us and then float back down. We’ve had a lot of loss the past few years and even this trip my Uncle went into Hospice. This is my Dad’s brother. So the time with my Dad and the family was very special and needed. We made some great memories. My sister, brother and brother-in-law tubed down the Catacay River. That was a fun time. We also took my Dad to Blue Ridge and road the train to the Ga./Tn. State line. This was a four hour trip. We took one morning and went into Ellijay and toured the Tabor House and Civil War Museum. Well worth visiting. Also we had our two dogs, Skipper Blue and Sailor Belle and my Dad’s Boston Terrier Roo. The house was perfect for them. They enjoyed watching the deer and going out into the enclosed yard. It was perfect for our fur babies! We enjoyed every bit of this beautiful cabin and property!

The cabin is beautiful. We love to cook and this kitchen had everything. The refrigerator and freezer were large. Lots of room and counter space and cabinets The family room is open. Games and so many channels to watch movies. Then there’s the game room that just happens to have an indoor sauna. We loved all the decks and the two bedrooms with deck access The wildlife! Feeding the deer was amazing. Sitting and drinking coffee in the mornings watching red headed woodpeckers among many other species. The sounds of the river while in the hot tub is so soothing. A little piece of Heaven!This cabin was perfect for our annualGirls trip. We spent 9 glorious days here. We plan to return here next year. Perfect Retreat with Nature

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A trip to the GA Mountains through Sliding Rock Cabins has become an annual family event for us and this year didn’t disappoint! This lovely cabin on the Coosawattee River was the perfect location to relax and unwind. We started each day with breakfast on the porch listening to the river, watching birds, and waiting for the local deer families to stop by for their daily visit. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed with every convenience we needed. The game room on the lower level was the perfect fun retreat on the one day it rained. My family was able to get some fishing in and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit by the riverbank. There are quite a number of stairs to get down to the river, but even with a bad knee, as long as I took my time it wasn’t bad. The fenced yard right off the front porch for our three small dogs was absolutely perfect...easy to access and completely secure. The location is perfect for visiting the sights and attractions in Ellijay and the surrounding area...antique stores, farmer’s markets, Amicalola Falls, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, and the charming town of Helen. Getting in and out of the resort was not difficult, and we had no issues at the security gate. The roads to the cabin are steep and winding, but being in the mountains, that’s expected. The majority of the roads to the cabin are paved with only about the last 1/3 mile gravel. We didn’t have 4-wheel drive and we were fine getting to and from the property...although low gear was definitely helpful in a couple of spots.We’re already planning for our next trip to Ellijay in April 2024. I can’t speak highly enough about Sliding Rock Cabins; they are attentive, easy to work with, and the cabins they manage are wonderful for all members of the family! Peaceful Retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at R & R River Retreat. We were greeted by two "Mama Deer" when we arrived. They were so beautiful and ensured their friends new we had the goods: corn, watermelon, apples and more. Its the most deer we've ever seen in our lives. The cabin was lovely, inviting, beautifully set next to the river. Thank you for a wonderful vacation with our friends and our pups.
