Good location and proximity to trails, good sleeping arrangements, good open sitting area, bathroom setup could be better, could use a Keurig and AC, dryer wasnât working before visit and not repaired before leaving, didnât have any outdoor furniture or space other than porch, yet overall it was pleasant enoughâŠ
Beautiful home. Lovely area. Home clean. Beds comfortable. Kitchen stocked well except crockpot missing the lid. Dryer (looked brand new) wasn't working but was compensated. Plenty of room. Kids area upstairs would be a bonus if you had little ones. Faucet in the tub bathroom needs replaced.
Our family loved staying at the chalet and look forward to hopefully returning in the near future. The location was great, the house was fun for our small children, and it fit our needs perfectly.
The location was ideal and in such a nice, quiet neighborhood. The house had some nice features but had not been cleaned well (lots of dog fur.) The television, washer and dryer were broken. The VRBO customer service representative was so wonderful and helped us get the problems addressed, as was the local Vacasa representative. We were compensated for the inconveniences and frustration, which we appreciated.
Cute house, conveniently located, just not everything works.
We were very pleased upon arriving at this home. The pics seemed to match the actual house and the location was great. At first we found small issues (like no lid for the crockpot, no lighter or matches for fireplace, canât change volume in TV), but we were fine. On the last night, we were counting on doing laundry to prep for the next 6 days of our vacation. However, we found the washing machine did not even turn on. It would appear someone knew this as the machine was unplugged. When we called for help, we were told it was too late at night. (Around 8pm). I ended up having to hand wash all our clothes in order to be able to have clothes for the rest of our trip.
Overall we had a great visit. The biggest issue is that there isn't a bathroom on the 2nd floor. There is a master bath on the first floor and one other small bathroom on the 2nd floor which was shared by 6 individuals. Also the 4 people sleeping in the 2 bedrooms upstairs needed to come downstairs in the middle of the night if they needed the bathroom. The only other issue we had was that there were no large pots, only small and medium which posed a problem when trying to feed 8 adults. Other than that we had a great visit. We all skied at Cannon on Saturday and the home in Mittersil couldn't be more convenient. We loved the games and the fireplace was outstanding. The bathroom issue wouldn't dissuade us from renting again next year.
Enjoyed the stay, the flue was frozen shut, and we contacted the management about it and didnât get a response. Which was disappointing. This is our second time staying. On the third night the ice broke and we were able to start a fire.
We love Mittersill and this was the nicest home weâve stayed in here. Definitely large enough for two families. It was extremely clean upon our arrival and we had a great week! We would definitely stay here again!
We've stayed in this property multiple times and several of the other Mittersill properties over the past 40 years. Here are the good points. Its spacious, there are lots of toys and games for children to play with, the layout is good for entertaining and the views in the Mittersill area are stunning (though not so much from this particular chalet which looks onto the parking lot for the "resort" property). Here are the bad points. The property has a rodent problem. Upon our arrival, there was rodent feces and debris throughout all of the cupboards. My guess is the property was cleaned several weeks before we arrived and the critters had their run of the place. We probably saw a mouse in the kitchen every hour or so during our week-long visit. Management (which is really a call center across the country connected with a service person in a neighboring state) put some traps outside but didn't attempt to fix the issue (didn't come inside at all). There seems to be a history given prior reviews. The chalet otherwise needs some upkeep. The furniture in the living room is 5-10 years past its useful life. The patio door doesn't lock (boards jammed into track to keep it closed). No place to put garbage (you can't leave it outside due to bears and there is no pick-up while you are there). The area is great for adults (you can hike, take walks around the Mittersill area etc.) but there are really no amenities for children. The old resort (which was decent in the 70s and early 80s from what I understand) will not permit children in the accompanying chalets to use their playground or even ride their bikes/scooters in the parking area - which is right in right in front of the chalet. If you are an adult looking a rustic and quiet getaway (and don't mind rodents), this place is perfect.
quick weekend of skiing with some friends. we love the Mittersill area. The house is very well-cleaned and in a great location. Having some dry firewood inside would be nice in the winter. Also, the key box process was a bit clunky so cleaning that up a bit would be great. Overall top notch and would stay again.
The size and set up of the house was beyond perfect!! Very clean and had EVERYTHING we needed to make it feel like home!! It was sooo close to all the best stuff; cannon mountain, echo lake, The Basin, the Flume Gorge, Clark bears, Indian Head Resort was all such a short distance my family was able to pack soo much into our vacation!! I will definitely be booking this place next year!!
