My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was clean and quiet. Checking in and out was so easy. Definitely worth the price. Itâs a small cabin with a bed, small fridge and a microwave so it has electricity. It also has water outside and a fire ring. There I also showers and bathrooms located on the property. Itâs less than a 1/4 mile from crater of diamonds state park. Will definitely stay again!
The cabin is about 10 x 12. A/C worked very well. The bed was supposed to sleep 2 but was only a single and we had to put an inflatable mattress on the floor. The cabin was just a short walk from the bathroom. The bathroom was torn up but the toilet and shower were clean. It was a very quiet area. It was nice sitting on the porch swing listening to the frogs. If you're wanting glamping go on by but if you want a roof over your head and a/c its perfect.
It was just icky. The bed was clean, but had one of those plastic covers that make the bed REALLY hot when sleeping. Shower house was really rough. The permanent campers on the property have seen way better days. I don't get grossed out easily, too many years at scout camp, but the showers were so bad we went to the campground at the state park where the kids were tent camping and showered there. We actually wished we were in a tent instead of the cabin.
For under 40 a night, i have no complaints. The necessary living items were provided, bed, refrigerator, heater and air conditioner. No big deal, i had to walk to the bath house. No need for extravagance when all you do is dig in the dirt!
I was in town for two days and this was the perfect place to stop and enjoy the area. RIGHT down the road from the diamond mine. Definitely walkable to the diamond search area.
It was exactly what I expected just a small cabin in a campground absolutely better then sleeping in a tent. And was very close to the diamond mine. People in the town was so nice make for a wonderful experience.
I was hesitant to stay here because of the reviews. As a woman in her 40's who travels alone, I like to be cautious. Ultimately though, my sole purpose for going to Murfreesboro was to spend a few days digging in the park. This site is right down the road and the price was right.Although dated, the cabin was clean. The bathroom was also dated, but also very clean. As far as other complaints in reviews about mold, Arkansas gets very hot and humid. Fighting mold is always going to be an ongoing battle in a campground setting there. Yes, there are people who live there in trailers. Yes, there are some older cars there. The residents all seemed very nice though. There were a few dogs that barked from time to time. But it wasn't excessive. If you're looking for luxury accomodations, expecting the atmosphere of a hotel, or searching for Instagram perfection, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a place to stay so you can spend time in the park and doing other outdoors things, this is perfect for you.
We never even opened the door. We pulled up and the property looked disgusting and not at all what was listed. So we drove on by and found some where else to stay.
We rented the cabin because it is right next to the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Just a small cabin with all you need for a quick Diamond digging excursion. Canât beat the price. Bed was comfortable and you bring your own bedding. Bathroom and shower facilities were old but clean as was the cabin.
Don't go into this place with glamping in mind. It's a simple campground with lots of peace and quiet. The cats are super friendly! The campground, for the most part, is well kept. Could use some sprucing up. The cabin we stayed in was quaint and did its purpose. The bathroom needs attention but it's clean.
Property was as listed in description I used this to have a weekend of fishing just for me and the property was big enough for me. The only thing was the AC unit needed to be a little larger as it was hot but the property cooled down at night
We did not stay here because the place looked horrible it was scary. People live in TVâs situated next to the cabin. I would have never reserved this property. I want my money back!
It was nothing as advertised. The showersand bathroom were nasty mold growing everywhere.not happy
Poor upkeep of property nothing like you advertised. Mold everywhere. Beds nasty also. Junk and trash piled everywhere. Never stay there again. My vacation wasn't enjoyable because of the nasty bathroom i had to use. The mold flared my allergies up. Just bad.
I was really looking forward to this stay and it was very disappointing. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Smells like mold. Flies all in cabin. So bad we went and bought fly strips. The door was taped top to bottom on inside and there was a 2 inch opening between door and frame. Lucky for us nothing crawled in.
Booked for a fun place to stay while visiting Crater of Diamonds. When you pull up, it's like a junk yard full of run down campers, tarps, trash, and a murky puddle that may have been a water feature at one point. The cabins were run down with holes in the floor, cracks around door, taped electric wires, flies all around the place (can't necessarily be helped but in March, sort of speaks to the cleanliness of the place). The bathrooms were so filthy we wouldn't use them. We left. Look this up on goo gle earth or something so you can see what it looks like before going here - it's not the wrong place if it looks like a dirty yard.
the place is a homeless shelter, old rusty bus, 8 dogs constantly barking junk everywhere. overgrow
I did not get to stay in cabin 2 someone had already moved in, there were gun shots heard by our group who started there friday night, but did not feel safe, especially with the children there. Our group had to move to another park in the middle of the night. The pictures on line are deceiving, I would like my money back, I do not want to pay for some homeless person staying in my cabin
No one in the office. Pushed a ring door bell someone came from across the highway. Just was told key was in the cabin and that it was unlocked. Didnât see a sole the whole weekend. We were left to find for ourselves. I cleaned the ac filter it was yucky and it worked better. The mattress was awful. Beds need replaced. We did enjoy the stay. It was within yards of the crater. Not sure if I will stay again.
Bugs, bugs, and more bugs! There were parts of the walls that didnât connect to the floor! And the door was basically only held together by tape. Itâs in need of some SERIOUS cleaning and maintenance, it has not been very well kept. One bed no private bath. Itâs basically a shed, which is fine, but advertise it that way. The bath is communal and across the property.
The property overall was not bad however the bathrooms were awful! First impression of restroom was being smacked in the face with heat and an overwhelming smell of mildew. I chose to drive to a truck stop to shower, there was no way i was using the one onsite. The cabin ac was off on a 90°+ day so it was very hot inside. The floor was detached from the wall of the cabin and clear box tap was used to "seal" cracks. The bed was SUPER squishy so if you like a firm bed at all then look elsewhere. We will not be returning to this property.
The cabin/she'd was filthy inside. Soda can greeted us full of cig butts on table inside. There was a mattress cover on the bed that we removed asap and put outside in garbage. Frig had 3" mold that had to be scraped off in freezer, after seeing inside of microwave we unplugged it and set it outside no way had it ever been cleaned. 3" of dirt under the bed, cobwebs galore.we took apart a/c unit and bleached and used a scrub brush to clean the filth and soaked filter water was black from filter afterwards. Be prepared to wear shower shoes inside showers . After 2 hrs of hard scrubbing we finally settled in. Poor outdoor lighting we tripped over multiple tree stumps at night. Many residents lived there yr round so be prepared to fight them for bathroom time in the only central bath/ toilet on premises. Bob was very helpful and gave us a free day for our troubles ,of which we got charged
for we discovered a week after we returned home. It was supposed to be given for all the cleaning we had to do before being able to step foot into our cabin/she'd. But overall it was cheap enough to get us to come back. Bob couldn't apologize enough for the lousy upkeep of the owner of crater of diamonds campground/cabin rentals. Note: bring plenty of cleaning supplies and be prepared to work at least 2 hours scrubbing.
Overall it beat a tent. Once cleaned the ac unit worked like a charm. I was disappointed the free day wasn't honored for our housecleaning . This place could be nice if they had a competent cleaning person. It was within waking distance to crater. They would benefit from a small store selling ice and necessities. And they already have the closed rock shop to utilize for this very building. It was a bit of a drive to the closest convenience store . It would take little effort on owners part to make this a really nice campground!!
