Overall the place was nice and quiet neighbors left you alone could have been a little bit more cleaner and the description for the fire pit and all that could have been more detailed
The only real positive thing I can say about the property. Is it is super closed to the diamond crater mine so that made it convenient. However, I told him I wouldn't arrive till after midnight. There were no lights on or address to indicate where our property actually was.So imagine trying to find it in the dark at two a m. Make sure you read the amenities.Because I did not. There are no towels provided. No wash class provided. No soap provided no nothing provided. The baton rug was dirty as indicated on the previous review, the ceiling. In the back bedroom looks like it's about ready to fall in.There were several places within the house that really need repairs. The property is really not maintained at all. This place was super disappointing for us.But going to the diamond crater.Mine was a great experience. I personally will not choose to stay there if we go back. And will not let me upload the photos that I have.
We had a good stay at this cabin. Its not a fancy place but it was comfortable and perfect for what we needed. Its right by the diamond mine so its a perfect location to stay while visiting the crater of diamonds. Bring your own towels!
Miner's camp right down the road from the crater of diamonds
The house could use some TLC, but it was very quaint, it was minutes away from the diamond crater state park. If you come to the park wanting to get right to work finding your riches miner's camp is the ticket.
I don't mind a little ruff but the dead cockroach on the counter when we walked in with no wash clothes, paper towels to clean it up is to much for me. There were no towels in the bathroom either. We had to go to the dollar general and buy all that stuff. I expect at least the bare minimum sorry just not for me
Cute little older house that has been partially remodeled. Still needs some work but overall it was clean and served its purpose. There are no bath or kitchen towels so bring your own. There was also no dish or dishwasher detergent. For the price, itâs a good place to rest after a day of mining diamonds.
There were dead roaches underneath the kitchen cabinet, and they were mouse droppings. All under the bathroom zinc, there was no heater in the bathroom, so he
I was a little hesitant to book the place due to the reviews I had read. So I was pleasantly surprised. The house was clean and wasnât musky nor did it smell of mold. And the screen on the front was not moldy it is green from the trees it sets under. Yes the house could use a few repair. But for an old house. Itâs just like the pictures show My only complaint would be that I had to bring my own towels. But other than that. The place was perfect for us and our 2 furbabies. Oh we did see a couple of small mice. But nothing a couple traps could fix We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
I stayed one night of the two booked nights. Musty, ceiling falling in, lights did not work, no towels, rugs in bathrooms were disgusting, mice poop all over, sofa smelled like wet dog, could of possibly been cockroach feces in the couch, not sure, did not see any cockroaches. It was very cold, there were 3 space heaters, two of which hardly blew out anything, it did get warm eventually. The cabin was extremely creepy. The host did immediately refund my money without being asked to, that was a super plus. Overall, it is a rough cabin could definitely use some maintenance and upkeep.
Awesome! The location had everything we needed. We had the outside fire pit and the neighbors were great. Panned for diamonds on Wednesday and had a blast at the site. Will probably go again next spring.
Booked this for a trip to the Crater of Diamonds State Park with friends (4 adults, 50+)for my birthday. Its a bit more than walking distance to the park, especially if youre carrying gear/rocks, but it is a very short drive. The outside of the cabin could use a bit of maintainance, but the inside more than makes up for it! It was very clean and fresh smelling when we arrived. There is a full kitchen, but it did lack a toaster and cutting board and cookie sheet. The beds were comfortable and clean. Shower was clean and nice hot water and pressure. There is a firepit outside for bonfire evenings. Both picnic tables provided are very uncomfortable, however, I was pleasantly surprised with the good quality, comfy furniture inside the house with a few sturdy antiques, as well. The pictures on the website arent very good and really dont do it justice.
Overall, we thouroughly enjoyed our stay there and would certainly book again if we return. Its not the Hilton, but we didnt pay Hilton prices. Its a quaint little cabin in the woods. By a road.đ
Do be scared by some of the overly dramatic reviews, Its not that bad. It is a rustic cabin. What does that mean? Some of the floors are worn and uneven, the screens on the porch are rusty, there are cracks in the ceiling. None of those things ruined our 3 night stay. The cabin has two bedrooms. One has a very soft bed, the other is firm. We slept on the firm bed and it was comfortable. The couch and chairs in the living room were comfortable. TV and Internet worked. All the kitchen appliances work. The window A/C units kept us cool. The water was clean with no bad taste or smell.
There were some minor negative items. There are no towels or tissues provided. No baking sheets if you need to use the oven. There was a musty smell when you come in from outside; some people claim it is mold, but I am allergic to mold and did not have any sort of reaction. It is attached to a small shop (which is cleverly left out of the listing photos) but the shop closes at 5:00, we were never in the cabin during its open hours. The cabin is part of a larger campground, but it was very quiet day and night. The noisiest thing you may hear is some occasional "clacking" on the roof, but that is just Acorns falling from the Oak tree.
Go in with the right expectations and you will enjoy your stay.
One note about the location. It is walking distance to the park entrance, but the actual diamond crater is much farther away. You will want to drive there.
First off:
* it is NOT a cabin but an appartment that is attached to a store w a walk through door that has a rusty old slide bolt.
* You canât see through the screen that wraps around of the front patio unless you are looking though one of the holes in it
* the ceiling plaster is falling off of the ceiling
*every light had 3 bulbs but 1 worked in every one of them 25 watts
***THE SMELL MADE ME PUKE !! ( I m not even lying !!!!)
I think the beds had the original mattresses from when it was built in the â50sor 60s
*I was bit by something and packed up and left!!
