The Taiga 2, Appartement studio

La Taiga House est situĂ©e dans la forĂȘt juste au nord du parc national de Denali. Une fois un B & B spacieux appelĂ© "The Grand View", il a Ă©tĂ© transformĂ© en une maison familiale avec deux locations de vacances. Notre rĂ©sidence de trois chambres, au deuxiĂšme Ă©tage est attenante, mais privĂ©e, avec une entrĂ©e et une cour qui lui est propre, une vue imprenable sur le paysage des montagnes locales et un charme abondant.
Notre studio est situé au rez-de-chaussée, sous notre location de 3 chambres. Avec une entrée indépendante. Il dort deux, avec un lit queen, salle de bain complÚte, salon / salle à manger et une cuisine entiÚrement équipée plus une laveuse / sécheuse.

Excellent stay here during our trip, so close to the park and excellent amenities. The room was cozy for 2 with thoughtful design and decorations. The host greeted us during checkin to welcome. Our studio rental was spotless and conveniently located—just a 20-minute drive from the Denali Park entrance. With a grocery store and 49th State Brewing Co. only a couple of miles away, the location couldn’t have been better. The hosts were incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with, which made everything smooth. The studio was located beneath another rental unit, which unfortunately meant we heard quite a bit of noise from above. Footsteps and movement on the stairs were frequent, especially during the early morning and late evening hours, and they often woke me up. While the space itself was clean and well-located, the sound carried more than expected, making restful sleep a bit of a challenge. That said, the space is quite compact. The internet was hit-or-miss, and despite the cool temps outside (in the 60s), the interior felt surprisingly warm. We ended up turning off the heat and cracking a window to cool things down. Still, it served as a solid home base for our Denali adventures.

Absolutely loved staying here. So excited they have a gas stove and Chicago cutlery since I'm a personal chef. The bed was super comfortable,location is amazing,love the shower. The owners are so nice and responsive. Plus three of the cutest dogs had to give him lots of pets. I did not want to leave. Beautiful sunset that I can see from sitting at the dining table! Perfect home base for visiting Denali NO

This studio apartment is compact but nicely furnished with essential amenities for travelers visiting Denali. We were able to make a full breakfast in the kitchen before heading out for a long day of hike and tour. The in-unit washer/dryer was greatly appreciated to get clothes cleaned after many sweaty and dusty activities including a fun ATV ride

Perfect Stay

My wife and I stayed at Taiga 2 during our two day visit to Denali National Park. We were very impressed by the excellent condition of the property. Everything was immaculate and looked brand new! This is a studio apartment so the space is relatively compact but that was hardly noticeable because the design was so well thought out. We had everything we needed, including laundry, and we were completely comfortable. What a gem. Proximity to Denali NP was excellent. Taiga 2 was the perfect stay for us on our 40th wedding anniversary trip through Alaska. We definitely recommend this property to any couple looking to stay in the area. Thank you so much for an outstanding experience.

Perfect location as a base for visiting Denali. Cozy studio perfect for two people. Very quiet area with a nice hike right from the property. The owners are very nice and allowed us to check in early which was much appreciate as it was difficult to determine our exact arrival time due to road closures caused by forest fires. Perfect stay in every way.

We enjoyed our stay in this thoughtfully planned studio. While small, it had everything we needed for cooking and laundry and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The furnishings were up to date and the local artwork was aesthetically pleasing. The shower was big for a small space and the water was always hot. The bbq, just outside the door, was convenient and in top condition. The hosts were friendly and responsive to any questions we had. The houses in the neighborhood are spaced a good distance apart and we had a nice outdoor sitting area outside with lots of trees and an occasional moose sighting. A really great place to stay if your are visiting Denali.

Perfect spot for 3-day trip to Denali NP

My spouse and I were looking for a "landing pad" for our trip to Denali NP. This studio apartment was perfect -- exceedingly well equipped, beautiful views out the windows and we managed to have time to sit outside and watch the sun set a night or two after spending the day exploring the park. It's near an IGA/hardware store and there's a sweet path through the woods behind the house I walked each morning after my first cup of coffee. It's about a 15 min drive to Denali visitor center. Everything was perfect.

We’ll Be Back!

Our stay at Taiga 2 was exceptional! It is a very comfortable, clean, well appointed studio apartment that has every thing that you could need! Full kitchen, laundry, coffee maker and lots of extras. Todd greeted us upon our arrival and was as friendly and helpful as could be. After a moose-less day, we came “home” to Taiga 2 and Bullwinkle wandered by about 30 minutes later!

Healy Visit

This was one of the nicest VRBO’s I’ve stayed at. The place was gleaming. Everything was in excellent repair and the quality of everything was excellent. It was perfect for one or two persons.

Great location

This studio was perfect for my husband and I. The location was close to Denali National Park where we had a great time exploring. The studio was well equipped, and even included a washer and dryer which was necessary after our adventure. We would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Great place, great people

Denali was closed due to a wildfire but the Taiga 2, Studio Apartment and Julie and Todd made the trip worth it! The studio is amazing - well thought out and great use of all the space. The beautiful and space saving furniture and appliances make it feel bigger than the pictures. Julie and Todd were great, giving us lots of recommendations for hikes, local activities and resources, including the walking trail on their property. Their dogs are mellow and sweet. Thank you for everything!

The Taiga House is owned by Todd and Julie Shorey. Todd travelled to Alaska in 1986 and discovered the wonders of Denali National Park and the warmth of the people of the Interior, and never left. He has worked as a tour guide in the summer sun, and a carpenter on many Denali projects through out the winter months. Julie is a life long Alaskan, who grew up just down the road in Cantwell. Our family enjoys salmon fishing, hiking in Denali, picking and eating the seasonal berries, and the winter sports of ice hockey and skiing. Life is good for us here in Healy, and we look forward to sharing our mountain view home with you, and our knowledge of the Alaskan Interior.

Our family purchased this house and six acres of property in 2011 as we moved north from McKinley Village, and instantly fell in love with the open landscape that flows from the south door to the Mountains of Denali Park. As a family we have worked together to create a home, as well as guest spaces for visitors to enjoy. We are sure you'll agree that our location is ideal for your once in a lifetime Alaskan experience.

Our rental has wonderful mountain views and instant wilderness access, while still being at the edge of town. It is a great home base for your adventures into Denali, a wonderful location to take a morning trail walk with a cup of coffee, and an inviting space to simply relax and enjoy the view.
