A great family get-a-way with just about everything you can imagine you would need while staying. From beach chairs to kayaks, outdoor dining to comfy beds, entertainment like games, books, tv/streaming, stereo. Communication about directions and check in made it easy to find and access the house. While the kitchen was stocked with all the necessities for cooking and cleaning I would love to see it when it is updated to reflect the beauty of the rest of the house. Having said that I would highly recommend this vacation home for large families and groups. A beautiful setting at the end of a cul de sak surrounded by woods and of course the gorgeous view of the lake.

Beautiful location
but issues with house and property.

The location and grounds are great
quiet, wooded with water views through the trees. Has a beach but rocky and sloped to the water’s edge so need to be sure-footed! Plenty of seating outside
chairs, two dining sets. Nice to have a fire pit!The house could have been cleaner
outside had not been cleaned (very dirty) but contacted the local person listed and he promptly came out and cleaned the decks and furniture (did a good job)! Inside the house, laundry room, refrigerator not clean. Sprayer on kitchen sink is broken, the dining room slider does not lock. Broken towel bar upstairs and downstairs toilet not adhered to base. The furniture in the living room is difficult to use
 hard to stand from sitting position as couch and chairs are low and worn to soft. Dining room chair arm is broken. No place to hang clothes upstairs. This is a nice home in a great location with a small private beach. It just needs attention.

Lovely views

Property had lovely views but had no idea about the midge flies. Wouldn’t recommend booking this time of year. Location was nice in between Petoskey and Charlevoix, owner was very quick to respond and had great communication. Unfortunately the home wasn’t as clean as you would anticipate when booking, but vacuum and cleaning supplies were easily accessible.

Wow!

What a beautiful location and a lovely home! We loved the easy access to Lake Michigan and the availability of the kayaks. The house had everything we needed, and our host could not have been more accommodating. I hope we can return to this lakefront home before too long!

Great Family Getaway!

I can't express enough how grateful I am for this family opening up their piece of paradise with all of us! We made so many amazing memories here. The house is big, beautiful and very comfortable with all the amenities you need to enjoy! The veiw from the master bedroom is breath taking. Waking up hearing the waves and opening up my eyes to beautiful Lake Michigan first thing in the morning was my favorite part of our stay. My family didn't want to leave and are already asking if we can go back next year. ❀

A gem of a house

Lovely house in a GREAT location. Rooms are spacious, lots of amenities. We loved the fire pit and experienced the best sunset I’ve ever seen across the bay. We found handfuls of Petoskey stones. Close to both Charlevoix and Petoskey, and close to lots of great golf. Hope to be back next year!

Great location on the lake

Beautiful lake property situated between Petoskey and Charlevoix. We enjoyed the access to the trail for walking and riding bikes
the house was very comfortable and clean. The outdoor space was pure Michigan
the deck, fire pit and the beautiful shoreline

Disappointing

Had trouble getting into property. Attempted to contact owner with 2 phone numbers for help. He did not answer nor did he return messages during our entire stay! After much trouble we got the lock box open and got inside. Bed sheets on most beds had dirt on them and clearly had not been washed since previous guests. Entire house was dirty inside and out, lots of cobwebs around windows inside. Microwave and stove were particularly dirty. TV was basically worthless. No local channels and no live tv without some sort of login which we did not have. Cabinets and drawers were cluttered with personal items. My friends and I have rented many properties over the last few years and have never experienced anything close to this bad. I would never recommend this property to anyone!

Excellent get away

Listing was even better then advertised!!! We had a great time. Quiet on end of road in a very nice, safe neighborhood. Right on beautiful Lake Michigan. Rocky shore private beach where you can find all kinds of Petosky and Charlevoix stones. Owners left kayaks and bikes to use. We loved kayaking Place is only a short distance from a very scenic 26 mile long bike path. House is very close to other fun beaches, restaurants and other things to do The house is modern, clean and bright inside with all the great windows. Lots of outdoor space with fire pit and Adirondack chairs.

Wonderful Place to Close Out Summer 2023

This was our 3rd stay at the property. Glorious sunsets & sunrises on beautiful Lake Michigan! Rock hunting, campfires and nature abound made for a wonderful family gathering. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The location is quiet and serene, the house is very accommodating. It has the exact feel that an up north rental should. Owners were so easy to work with, and check in/out was simple.

family vacation

My husband, our two children and 4 grandchildren stayed at this property in Bay Shore between Charlevois and Petoskey. We had plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the house, the location and many of the included ameneties: kayaks and bicycles. We did not have warm weather during our stay, so I cannot comment on swimming at this location. However, we did go down to the lake and collect rocks (many Petoskey stones) and kayak. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Wedding Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at the house! We were with three couples and there was plenty of room for all of us. There were kayaks and bikes to use and plenty of room to play games and enjoy time together. We also appreciated the firewood so that we could enjoy a campfire. The location was wonderful on the lake. It's close to Petoskey and Charlevoix so a lot to see and do. We certainly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Gathering

Amazing and comfortable place to reconnect with old friends we hadn't seen in many years. It provided the perfect quiet place at "the end of the road" situated in the cool woods yet on the shore to watch sunsets, stars at night and just listen to the waves together. The home provided wonderful places to sit for meals and around a camp fire for smores. An older property but adequately maintained, lots of kitchen gear and comfortable beds for restful sleep. Great memories made here.

Our parents were teachers and coaches in Northern Michigan. They met at Boyne Mountain, while both were living in the Detroit area, and eventually moved north. After retiring, they realized their dream of living on the lake by building this house.
While my sisters and I all had lives that took us away from the area, our families love coming back whenever we can, and our kids have fallen in love with the region.
We are offering the home as a vacation rental to share the magic of northen Michigan with others who appreciate the beauty and the lifestyle that shaped our family's lives.
