Outstanding water front views! Incredible decks, why stay indoors? Immaculate accommodations! Such a great town, everything you need is a short trip away. Great restaurants, grocery, gas, convenience stores. Owner was gracious and accommodating!
Part of our family attending a funeral stayed here. It was a calm and wonderful place to be. The accommodation was perfect and the owner very helpful and friendly. Thank you so much
The house was perfect. We took a trip up for a family wedding and there was plenty of space for my 2 sisters in law, my niece, and my husband and I to relax and not be on top of each other. The peaceful atmosphere and lake view were very relaxing. We unfortunately werenât able to do anything in the area or at the house other than lounge around, enjoy the lake views, and make breakfast but weâre contemplating planning another trip so we could take advantage.
We stayed a couple of days while we visited our family in Portland and Middletown. The house was a short distance to everything; grocery store, restaurants; winery, brewery and to our cousins we were visiting. The house was perfect for us, we were all comfortable while we were relaxing and we were all able to get ready without being in each other's way (hard to do when you have four women in the same space). We had a great time.
The house was very pleasant in a gorgeous setting. We stayed here so our immediate family could be together while traveling for my niece's wedding. Rich is an excellent host and we really enjoyed our weekend. I wish we'd had more time to sit and relax on the beautiful decks.
We enjoyed our stay in this lakefront property. The house is large and is especially well-equipped for a group. There are 2 decks for entertaining and the kitchen has everything one could ask for, including kayaks for exploring the large lake. Rich, the property owner, was happy to help us with any problems and provided information on the dining, etc. in the town.
Comfortable house for five adults and three small children, with big living area, well functioning kitchen, big sturdy dining table and island seating. Large TV and fireplace. Very appealing outdoor seating areas with lake views. It rained so we didnât get to enjoy the outdoor spaces, but indoor space was fine for family time with baby, toddler and preschooler. Nice neighborhood, convenient stores and restaurants.
My husband and I were home for a very special occasion at Saint Clements Castle and for the holidays and it was the perfect location. The home owner was fabulous to work with. He even decorated for the holiday so we would feel right at home. Rich was extremely responsive with every question/need. Even though it was winter, the it was worth staying on the lake for the views.
Our family had a nice, quiet stay at Richard's lake house. The location was wonderful...a large, flat lawn, close access to sandy beach areas for boat launch and play for the kids, quiet neighbors. The house amenities were everything we could have needed for our stay. Communication with Richard was easy and thorough. The house, while in good condition, was not as clean as anticipated, though this did not significantly detract from the quality of our stay.
Depite getting a flat on our way to our weekend away, needing to find a place the following day to get a new tires and the horrible rainy weather, we had a great time. It was my daughter's low-key bachelorette weekend. We brought lots of food and games with us but there were plenty of games there. The house is clean and homey. The owner kept in touch during our stay. Instructions for the fireplace was the only thing missing but we were fine without it. Im hoping to go back next summer or fall.
We could not have been happier at Rich's house on the lake. Rich was a wonderful host even before we arrived. He was able to change the beds around, so all four kids could have their own bed. During our stay, he checked in on a regular basis to make sure everything was going well. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and canoe as well as the swimming area with floating dock! The location was fantastic with most things being a short drive with our favorite being the walking/biking trail. Overall we could not have asked for more. Thank you Rich!
This property provided a great home base for visiting with family in the area. The outside living spaces/decks are a highlight, and we spent a great deal of time on the decks. The setting is also quite nice, and we enjoyed using the kayaks, in particular. The owner, Rich, was flexible and accommodating with our late arrival, which we appreciated. He also was prompt in addressing some questions in the lead-up to our trip. It is clear that the owner has renovated the property; however, some time has also passed since then, and some rooms would benefit from freshening up. As one negative, the house was not as clean as other vrbos in which we've stayed. The owner noted that another family had stayed at the property for 5 months, so we speculated whether that had limited his time and ability to clean the place (or have it cleaned) deeply. This was not an issue in the main living areas, and the home was generally clean, but it was notable around the 'edges'. Overall, we would recommend the property and would stay here again.
Perfect for a large group with a couple points to consider
This property is wonderful, depending on what you're looking for. We went to CT for a newlywed party with my extended family for me and my [new] husband. Us, my mom, his parents, his sister & her husband & one year old all stayed at this property and it's certainly large enough for everyone to feel like they had their own space but can also all hang out together when we wanted, which was wonderful! The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, theres a propane firepit on the deck that we hung out around, and the kitchen table is large enough so we had big breakfast every morning together. That said, it desperately needs a good deep cleaning, especially since we were there at the end of summer beach season, so guests are spending all of their time indoors now. The check-in process was a bit unclear as well. I had to inquire on the day of, and was informed the owner likes to meet his guests to show them around. Since we were coming from out of town, it was tricky to nail down our exact arrival so he ended up leaving the key and said he'll come back. He never did come back, (at least while we were home) but I've never experienced this before and am frankly not a fan. I am sure it was well-intentioned, but we are paying a lot of money to have access to a property, and while emergency situations would warrant the owner showing up unnannounced, it felt off-putting that at any moment, he would just come around. Even landlords need to give 24 hours notice before coming into a property. Overall, I'd recommend this property for a large family/small reunion of folks, just wanted to give my honest opinion on my experience.
Came to region for work over 3 days..wanted a relaxing environment for my crew after long day versus a hotel which the house provided along with good choices in area for dinner.
We really enjoyed staying at this place. The house is very spacious, including a huge backyard right on the lake. The kids played on the water, had fun with the kayaks and paddleboat, and all the games they had in the closet downstairs. Thanks Rich for the great hospitality. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful views. Spacious interior and decks. Clean towels and linens provided, a big plus. Communication with owner was prompt and pleasant. Would stay again.
My family and I were looking for a place to stay that was in close proximity to family in Hartford, CT. This was a perfect place for us. We loved that this property was on a lake with a view of the lake from our decks (yes, decks. An upper and lower). This property offered lots of space for all of us. We each had our own private space, Kitchen was stocked with an ample amount of supplies for cooking, as well as plenty of furniture for everyone to relax without feeling like we were piled on top of one another. The deck space was phenomenal with lots of furniture to use as well. We LOVED this property and would return if we are able to visit CT again in the future.

Rich was such a welcoming host during our stay. We were attending a family funeral and he made a difficult time so much better. The house was perfect for us and I can only imagine how great it would be to visit during the summer. Thank you so much!
