Le Stonehouse Loft est un tout nouveau bâtiment, construit à partir de zéro en 2015. Conçu par votre hôte, avec des plans dessinés par Jess Wilton, un grand architecte local de Durango, il a été construit par des gens (encore votre hôte!) et pour ceux qui aiment le design moderne. Le loft présente des planchers de béton chauffés par rayonnement partout et une ambiance moderne, lumineuse mais confortable. Situé à un demi pâté de maisons de l'avenue principale dans le centre-ville de Durango, vous pouvez vous rendre à pied à tous les magasins, restaurants, galeries et bars en quelques minutes de cet appartement situé au centre. Un lit king size, une belle douche et salle de bain, et une cuisine bien équipée vous offrent le confort et les commodités de la maison. Près du VTT, de la randonnée, de la rivière et du chemin de fer à voie étroite Durango Silverton. Cette propriété vous met à proximité de tout ce que Durango a à offrir. Great location and it was quiet for being downtown. Cute place. Parking is very tight in the provided spot but it was nice to have somewhere to park had we brought a bigger vehicle it would not have fit. We didn’t get to enjoy the nice outdoor seating due to rain but would definitely stay here again for the location.

Perfect lodging in central Durango

We really enjoyed our stay at George’s place. Location was perfect for exploring Durango (nice to leave the car parked and walk everywhere!). The shared backyard was great to sit out in and enjoy the love music from Buckley Park. Great stay overall!

Great for a getaway

My fiancé and I stayed for a long weekend and It was our first time in Durango. An easy walk to the restaurants and bars made this a perfect location. Very clean and well stocked on essentials.

Great modern accommodations in an excellent location. We loved that we could easily walk to downtown. Ready access to so much! The property was very well appointed and had everything we needed. We felt immediately comfortable. Hope to return. Would definitely recommend.

Durango Christmas

Great experience! Very clean AND easy to keep clean. Spacious, lots of light and good views. We cook and found the kitchen was excellent! A block off Main Avenue and the great restaurants and coffee shops. Location of apartment is on a service street so there is no noisy traffic. Space for one car off street parking.We had six people over for supper and was comfortable and easy. Plenty of convenient storage space. It was just right for us! (our only 5 star rating for the 2024)

Durango Visit

The space was like living in a modern sculpture . Very Cool. The location 1/2 block off main was very convenient and private. Parking spot was very helpful as Durango has every street metered. Only surprise was there was no TV but after a day of "TV Detox" it was great listened to a lot of music and was less stressed than usual. Host was very responsive and welcoming.

The unit is beautiful and well designed, however The WiFi was weak at best, there was no TV, no microwave, but PLENTY of elm bugs!! Those quick fixes could easily turn this rental into a 5 star space

Amazing location

Awesome location, walking distance to anything you need. Great area to bike around. I recommend going up the hill to the college, great view with easy access. Loft was nice, clean, and had most essentials. Parking is tight, but if you and the renters in his other rental park in a good manor its not an issue. Just stay tight to the sides. A couple things i would add to this loft is a water filter for drinking water and a toilet paper holder in the bathroom. That is really the only things we felt were missing.

Relaxing, Great Bed, and In Walking Distance To So Much

We absolutely loved staying in Durango in this section of town and at this retreat in particular. The large windows on the 2nd floor gave us a wonderful view of all the activity taking place on the street below. We could see the Durango train go by two blocks away, restaurant workers preparing for the day, people walking and skateboarding to work. It was a lot of fun to stay in such an open floor plan with tall ceilings and windows everywhere. The kitchen was fabulous with all the utensils we needed to prepare meals on the gas stove. The driveway fits two cars side by side. Our neighbor had a small SUV and we had a Mustang and there was enough room for us to park next to each other. You wouldn't want a large vehicle. Galleries, supermarkets, gift shops and lots of restaurants are all in walking distance. It was a very quiet sanctuary in spite of activity taking place outside. We want to come back and we recommend this spot for anyone who wants to be in close proximity of Durango's main street. We loved that there was no TV and we didn't miss having a microwave either. WiFi was great. The host was responsive to our inquiries and was super helpful in helping us move our plans around so we could head to Taos after our visit to Durango. He was wonderful and we felt so welcome. Can't wait to visit again and stay here.

We enjoyed our stay very much and found the proximity to town one of its best features. We would prefer a more comfortable couch and chair in the living area vs the low back (futon) couch but that was the only negative issue we had. That said, we highly recommend this Durango gem!

I moved to Durango right out of high school in 1991. I waited tables at a restaurant for three months before deciding I needed to do more. I went to college, and then lived and worked in NYC for twenty years before finally making it back to Durango in 2010.
I'm an Artist, and a builder, and the Stonehouse Loft gave me the opportunity to bring these two skills together. The Loft is a completely new building which I built from the ground up to be a modern, comfortable and convenient downtown hideaway. I love mountain biking on the trails around town, hiking, backpacking, rafting, and exploring the deserts and mountains with my partner Amber Johnson, a Durango Native (that rare breed!) that i'm lucky enough to share my adventures with.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The Stonehouse Loft is a unique downtown property that is super close to Main Street, but provides a remarkable feeling of seclusion, even in the heart of busy downtown Durango. The Stonehouse Loft is a brand new, energy efficient and modern building with radiant heat, on demand hot water, huge windows with abundant natural light, and an open airy feel. There is a large private patio and garden, which is tucked away behind a fence and deck, but that offers views of the large trees in Buckley Park, right across the street. From the Stonehouse Studio you can walk anywhere you might want to go in downtown Durango. All the best restaurants and shops, galleries, bars and grocery stores are just minutes away on foot. All of the Mountain Biking Trailheads are easily accessed from downtown, and are there are literally hundreds of miles of trails you can access directly from the driveway in just a few minutes ride.
