This property was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. It had plenty of space for our large group, and spending the morning sitting out on the back deck with a cup of coffee and watching wildlife was priceless.
If you want a fantastic house in beautiful setting book this house. Internet and cell service in an amazing valley close to town. Its perfect. Host is a very nice lady.
This house is amazingly equipped, sits in a beautiful location outside of Dayville. Kimmee the owner was wonderful to talk to and very responsive. She has poured her heart and soul into making this a comfortable place to stay for her own family, so I felt very fortunate that be welcomed in to their home! I cannot say enough good things about this experience, and about the owner. This house is essentially brand new. We will be back!!
Quite a recognition when the first words from a travel industry veteran are 'this is the nicest home stay ever!'
I had the master suite and that feeling was quite luxurious. I spent some downtime there in front of the view windows on the recliner chair, tempted by the throw blanket and the "Hell on Horses and Women" pioneering book on the coffee table. Really appreciated and was surprised at the quality and thoughtfulness of the 'extra's'. A welcome basket that included coupons to local eateries and shops gave a really nice community feel. Location was perfect to explore the John Day area. Remote enough to enjoy the views and sprinklers irrigating the hay fields from the deck, but yet right off the main highway, at the gateway to at least three National Monuments.
Our stay at Juniper Hills on the Ranch was just perfect. The house was clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The deck out back was secluded with a wonderful view of the pasture and hills. Soooo quiet. The location couldn't have been better for our needs as we wanted to hike the John Day area. We would absolutely stay here again.
The good is that this house is very roomy and able to support a large intimate group or three couples in a COVID safe environment. The house has great flow. There is also a deck.
We arrived in the dark and had a hard time finding the property. There were no lights to welcome us. There was one small shelf in the very dirty refrigerator and no room in the freezer. The kitchen was very dirty. There were crumbs over all the counters, the sink had gunk, the microwave was filthy as was the oven and stovetop. (Oddly, there are only steak knives and no butter knives. )
The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean enough, though my husbandâs dust allergies were triggered and he could not breathe very well when we were in the house.
We felt as if we had pushed people out of the home as there was an open bread package and food everywhere.
Hiking in the Painted Hills. Exploring the South Fork River near the Bunkhouse. The Dayville Cafe and the best homemade pie around await you along with a great coffee stop called Twisted Treasures!! We will even leave a coupon so you can stop at both!!
