We had purchased the neighboring A-frame in August of 2017 and discovered this property had never been finished since the owner built it. We scooped it up and finished all the interior work, plumbing & electrical, along with a new well and septic, excavating, fish cleaning shed. Lots of work and lots of fun. Since we also own the only 2 other cabins -- Riverview Cabin and Vistaview Chalet -- in this quiet cul de sac, we've had many groups book all 3 places to have room for everyone!
The Eagle Mountain subdivision is up in the bluffs above the village of Ferryville, which is right along the Great River Road. Across the river we see the opposite bluff country of N.E. Iowa.
Ferryville is about mid-way between La Crosse & Prairie du Chien, approximatel 30 miles in either direction. There's also a bridge crossing over to Lansing Iowa nearby. A visit to the area isn't complete without stepping foot in Horsefall's Lansing Variety. Also, make sure to hit up Coffee on the River while you're there and Mt. Hosmer Park. And the Driftless Visitor Center.
Ferryville has 2 bars that serve food plus a gas station/convenience store. May through October welcomes back the weekly Farmers Market on Saturdays at Sugar Creek Park, just south of town.
There are multiple boat landings in the area, including one right in town. If you plan ahead, you can rent a pontoon boat from S&S Houseboat Rentals in Lansing.
If you like to hike?? You can simply stroll through the neighborhood or head down to Sugar Creek Conservancy, just south of town. Rush Creek State Natural Area is upriver a couple miles. Viroqua is another lovely small city to visit. Lots of eclectic shops and dining options and it's a lovely, scenic drive through the rolling hills of SW Wisconsin.
