L'escapade familiale idéale toute l'année! Passez du temps à jouer sur les terrains de jeu juste devant votre porte, à cuisiner sur le feu ou à explorer la ville voisine de Lansing, dans le Mississippi, au fleuve Mississippi. Il est courant de voir des cerfs directement de la cabane, alors soyez à l'affût juste aprÚs l'aube et juste avant le crépuscule.
Voulez-vous rester Ă  l'intĂ©rieur? Installez-vous confortablement dans un film sur les deux tĂ©lĂ©viseurs intelligents et jouez Ă  des jeux de sociĂ©tĂ© en famille. À l'intĂ©rieur ou Ă  l'extĂ©rieur, c'est un endroit idĂ©al pour crĂ©er des souvenirs inoubliables!

Remarque: il existe une deuxiÚme cabine que nous possédons et à laquelle mes parents séjournent à l'occasion. Les deux maisons sont suffisamment éloignées pour la vie privée. S'ils se trouvent sur place pendant votre séjour, ils peuvent vous aider en cas de problÚme, émettre des recommandations et faire du vélo UTV! Faites-nous savoir si vous avez des questions!

Le niveau principal comprend une salle de bain complĂšte, une chambre avec un lit queen-size hors de la cuisine, un salon spacieux, un coin repas avec une cuisine complĂšte. (Ustensiles, casseroles, cafetiĂšre, micro-ondes)
Il y a un loft avec un lit superposé et beaucoup de jouets pour enfants!
Le sous-sol a une salle de bain 1/2, une chambre avec un lit king size et un autre grand salon avec une télévision et un canapé confortable.
Le niveau principal comprend Dish TV et Netflix, ainsi que l’accĂšs Ă  diverses applications sur des tĂ©lĂ©viseurs intelligents. Internet sans fil dans toute la maison pour ces e-mails embĂȘtants et pour divertir les adolescents :)
Les activitĂ©s Ă  proximitĂ© comprennent les ruisseaux de truites, la navigation de plaisance ou la pĂȘche dans le Mississippi, de nombreux magasins, restaurants, bars, Ă©piceries et stations-service Ă  seulement 5 minutes. Pour les amateurs de randonnĂ©e ou de chasse, il y a plus de 1000 acres de terres publiques Ă  explorer dans plusieurs directions de Lansing.
Mt. Hosmer a des sentiers de randonnée et deux points de vue sur la riviÚre! La vue est absolument incroyable! Un must pour tout le monde. Il y a des toilettes, des aires de pique-nique et une aire de jeux.

We have nothing negative to say at all! The place was in great shape and clean! The location is absolutely perfect. It's just close enough to town and yet gives you the secluded feeling. We enjoyed not having to bring our own chairs and firewood, it's the little things! It's a perfect place to bring your family with lots to do at the VRBO without leaving!

Great time overall! Kids loved the outside space (especially fire pit!). Playground equipment needed some sprucing up and the zip line was slightly unsafe (for my kids, at least, who were 4 & 6). Kitchen was great for home-prepared meals. Communication with host was prompt and helpful.

We had a great time! The house was nice and the kids enjoyed having some new toys to play with in the mornings and evenings. They’ve decided to call it “the fun house.” We really appreciated that it was dog-friendly.The town of Lansing is a refreshing blast from the past. The coffee house on the river has great breakfast and I enjoyed the attached fishing museum. The Driftless visitor and education center down the road is an absolute must-visit, especially if you have kids. Holding a snake there was one of their favorite parts of the trip. The view from the park (I forget the name) was incredible with some good hiking trails. And I almost forgot to mention Horsfalls variety store. That was fun to explore!One tip for anyone staying - many of the business are cash only, so stop at the ATM before venturing out.

The perfect family cabin getaway near the Mississippi

This cabin is AMAZING! It was spotless, beautifully decorated, and homey to us the moment we walked in. The kids instantly loved the playgrounds, multiple bikes to ride, the zipline, and the endless toys in the sandbox. Then the toys and books upstairs kept them entertained for hours. It is the best rental property if you like to have the country life feel and keep your kids entertained for hours. Joe and his family were so accomdating and answered us whenever we needed anything. If you are looking to stay in the NE Iowa area, please rent this cabin. You won't regret it!

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous and peaceful place! The location is perfect with quick access to town and the Mississippi River while being tucked into a beautiful, secluded bluff valley. The house was clean and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed to cook. We would would certainly stay again!

Memorial Week Trip

This cabin had plenty of space for our family of 6! The property as well as the cabin are well maintained and clean. If you have children, this place is well equipped! There was a portable crib and a variety of toys for all ages. There is also board games, bikes, and trikes for littler kids. The playgrounds are wonderful and we especially loved that they are in view from the back deck. I even noticed there was a side rail under the bed upstairs for smaller children. We appreciated the small things we noticed, even if we didn't need them. This property had everything we needed and the only thing we had to work around was blocking the stairs from our 10 month old. The cabin has a gate in the main level bedroom but it just wasn't wide enough. The gate would come in handy to use in the main level bedroom.

Perfect getaway!

The cabin was exactly as described and shown in pictures, it’s such a wonderful peaceful place. Seamless check-in and check-out, it was ready and clean for our stay when we arrived, even with some rain the gravel roads were safe.It is so comfy, roomy and well equipped, kind of modern, everything works and is in good condition, comfortable beds, nice hot shower, there are perks hard to find elsewhere, like a Nest thermostat, wireless phone chargers (we didn’t even use the chargers we brought), a Roku TV perfect for streaming movies and TV shows at night and Alexa. The covered back porch is great to relax while watching nature unfold. We have stayed in cabins before and this one is definitely way beyond average.The property outdoors is wonderful, full of wildlife, well cared for landscape, a hammock to relax, two fire pits and lots of green space. They are nice enough to mow a short walking trail around the property bushes, we could go on 20-minute walks with our dog without leaving the premises, just perfect for morning and evening walks.The nearby town Lansing is charming, very friendly and the scenic views from Mt Hosmer and other areas are a thrill, totally worth the trip. We also drove up to La Crosse, WI (55 min drive), the drive itself along the Mississippi is already worth, but the town is another hidden treasure.We had the best time and hope to come back some day. Thank you to the owners!

Spring Break at the Cabin

The area was really nice, we had a lot of outside time during the day, mixed with visiting various playgrounds around the area and at the property. We enjoyed all of creatures that frequent the property but kept our distance. While a bit startling it was amazing to hear a huge pack of howls one night. One night we enjoyed the fire pit, while another we enjoyed a cozy movie night in the cabin. Thanks for sharing such a nice cabin with us.

Perfect relaxing getaway

Stayed here for our annual family trip between Christmas and New Year’s. It’s been our family tradition to do so for several years. This cabin was great! Very quiet and relaxing.

Wonderful Spot

This was our second time to this property with the first being 3.5 years ago during COVID. The property is peaceful, close to Lansing for food etc, and has all the cooking essentials you'll need including a coffee pot/k cup combo. I highly recommended staying here!

A Place to Relax

We had a wonderful time at Apple Valley. The property and cabin are absolutely beautiful. Everything there you need. The air conditioning was great on the very hot days. Enjoyed the firepit each night. Our family loved the zipline. Enjoyed seeing deer often. The owner answered any questions immediately. Great communication with these owners. Would highly recommend this cabin for a relaxing get away.

We purchased this property with my parents in 2011 as our own home away from home! The cabin you will be staying in was built brand new in 2012, some of the logs were harvested right there on the property.
All of our children have been going there since birth. We even use it to celebrate various holidays, hike, hunt, and just relax!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Very secluded and private with 10 acres to roam around. Don't want to leave your pet at home, well bring them along! Lansing and the surrounding area is very friendly and safe. We have 3 young children and we have no problems feeling safe and comfortable. Our nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles all come up and spend time there as well. We are off the beaten path but just minutes from civilization.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

This place is very quiet and peaceful. When my wife and I sit out on the porch to take in the crisp morning air while sipping on our coffee we will see deer, various birds, turkey, and other wildlife!
