Unfortunately, your review is disappointing as well. Here is my response to each of your comments: • The comforter was washed for your stay & you brought your own bedding. • Picnic table needs a couple boards replaced but the areas that need to be replaced are clearly visible. My contractor was scheduled to do that the morning you arrived but due to the rain in the forecast, it will be done next Friday (7/21). How did it ruin your jeans? That part doesn’t make sense. • I actually took a moment to look at the views from the windows of the cottage on Friday prior to your arrival because I was wondering if the trees were overgrown from all the rain we’ve been getting but the view was hardly impaired. I will take pictures when I am there next Friday and post them to this review if I am able. • I have no idea who was arguing and have no control over that but I imagine that was very disappointing/frustrating. • You messaged me after 2 nights of your 3 night stay saying you “had to leave unexpectedly early. Plus we want to beat the bad weather. Thank you again!” This is a copy/paste from your VRBO message to me. At no point during any correspondence did you ever say there was an issue or give me an opportunity to fix anything for you. • The WiFi works – it is not high-speed but it is all l can get at this lake cottage. It can run the smart TV, phones, zoom calls – and all at the same time based on feedback from other guests - but it is not “high speed” and I don’t advertise high speed. • The screen door was not broken when you checked in Friday. I will look at it next Friday when I’m there to try to figure out what may have happened during your stay but the cleaning service didn’t mention anything when you checked out. • The drawer in the kitchen you are referencing is a kitchen cart from Wayfair. It is not a standard cabinet drawer that stops, but I would hope that once you pulled it out too far, that you were aware of it’s limitations. It is the best set up I can find to add more storage in that space for my “cozy cottage”. In closing, clearly the cottage was not a good fit for you. I am always available for any issues/concerns that arise during someone’s stay. You reached out to me several times - all messages from you were positive, and I responded to them promptly. Lastly, you even had a smiley face in your last message when you said you had to leave early. This review seems unfair to me. My ultimate goal is to make sure my guests have an enjoyable stay, and if you truly thought this was a 1-star cottage, I would have thought your messages to me would have been a lot different.
