Shipwatch oceanfront condominiums, offered by Hodnett Cooper, have been a favorite family destination for many years. With just 52 residences, Shipwatch is a quiet community ideal for both weekend getaways and multiple month escapes.

Each residence features two bedrooms, two full baths, a combined living, dining, and kitchen area, and a private balcony.

Community amenities include boardwalk access to the heart of St. Simons' sand beaches, a swimming pool, large grass lawn, outdoor grills and complimentary in-room high speed internet service.

Though this community is located directly on the ocean, individual residences, unless otherwise specified, do not offer ocean views.

A maximum of 2 pets under 35 pounds are accepted with a $150 non-refundable pet fee.

Bedding Includes: 1 King, 1 Bunkbed with full on top and twin below.

Beach Gear Credit Now Included Hodnett Cooper has partnered with VayK Gear, a beach delivery service provider to offer beach gear rentals to Hodnett Cooper guests in participating properties. Confirm a new reservation with Hodnett Cooper Vacation Rentals at a participating property with length of stay between 2 – 14 nights, arriving March thru October, and receive a daily credit from VayK Gear towards beach gear rentals during the stay! Nice, family-friendly property with private beach access and well-maintained pool and grounds. Condo is clean and cozy with lots of amenities, except beach gear (bring your own!).

Nice location

Nice, quiet, and peaceful location. Fairly clean. Easy walk to the beach. Close driving distance to restaurants and shopping. Would stay here again.

Nice condo and close to the beach

This is an older gated condo community but it has been upgraded and is in good shape. There is plenty of parking, outside or under cover. There is a nice pool are and plenty of space to walk a dog. The beach is nice and also has a gated walkway. There is a furnished balcony that is nice to get outside in the fresh air and laundry inside the unit is a nice perk. There are also bike paths nearby so you can ride to restaurants and shops. We had a very good experience.

Quaint condo, some updates in bathroom/ could use update furnishings (glass table in eating area needs to be cleanened due to lots of residual food under top, we tried our best to clean it)

East Beach Stay

Everything was acceptable with our needs. We especially enjoyed the elevator, especially with my knee issues. I do think you could provide more than one replacement for the kitchen garbage! EH

Great location

Great location with direct beach access down a bit from East Beach, so it isn't as crowded. Condo is simple but great for being at the beach. The patio is large with a nice table.

A Great Getaway for 3 or 4 People, with a Pet

This is an older (circa 1982) condo, there's no denying that. But with two BR and two BA and allowing small pets, it's a great little place to go for a "beachfront" vacation (although the shore is actually over 1/3 mile walk). Another nice feature of this particular condo is that since there is no 3rd floor above this particular 2nd floor unit (unlike the others on the 2nd floor) you get no noise from the floor above, yet only have to climb stairs to the second floor. Yes there is an elevator and yes it worked but this unit is right next to the stairs on the end so you end up using the stairs mostly. The kitchen was a bit dated but the microwave and coffee maker worked great. The ceiling fans in each room were a nice plus as well, as were the nice TVs with cable in each BR and living room. Location on Island is great; close to all restaurants/shopping, but in a safe and quiet area. Would stay again for the price versus features and location.

unit needed repairs

I filled this out earlier??? Had lots of rain, master bedroom ceiling leaked in 2 places (we moved bed). Maint guy came (Sun.) said lots of damage in ceiling/roof, temp repaired. Roofer came, said when unit was empty, needed lots of repairs. Had stains from leaks on ceiling from earlier problems. Should have been seen. Return AC vent in entrance leaked, filter was FULL (no one checked??). Now, decor was nice, had lots of usuable items, good TV instructions. But owner had outdated list inside cabinet door.

Great place!

Very smooth process. Had a wonderful 4 night stay with my wife and dog. Right off the beach which is always a plus. Close to alot of great places to eat. Would consider this place again when I return.

Perfect for a family of 4...

Very nice location. Easy to find and a short drive to shops and the lighthouse. Two minute walk to the pool and beach not much farther. Beach itself was very nice for kids, especially at low-tide. Nice area for pets to get out and roam a bit. Home stocked with everything needed for a long weekend... one trip to the store for food and we were set.

We had a great time! The condo was perfect - we will be looking to stay at the same condo when we return to St. Simons. Loved the fact that it was pet friendly even though sometimes pets can be a handful when on vacation! The condo was clean and had anything and everything we could have needed. Great location - just a boardwalk away from the beach and extremely close to the Pier area/shops.
