Escape to Birchwood Suite

Escape from the monotony of daily life to Fairbanks, Alaska at Birchwood Escape! Nestled on Murphy Dome, surrounded by birch trees with a view like none other in the Fairbanks area; this one bedroom vacation rental is complete with a full kitchen and living room area with a full entertainment center. The goose down comforter on the queen size bed is very comfortable but I bet you'd rather be outside enjoying Alaska in its finest. A large comfortable sofa enables this property to accommodate 3 guests. If desired, renters may have access to traditional native parkas, furs, hats, and more for photos to remember your time at Birchwood Suite. A short 14 miles west of Fairbanks allows full views of the Northern Lights. During the summer, we are a short 10 minute drive to the top of Murphy Dome. Come enjoy all that Birchwood Suite has to offer.

There is no public transportation to this location. We are 20 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and 25 minutes from downtown Fairbanks. Uber and taxi service is available in Fairbanks however, they are expensive and may be inconvenient. A rental car is the best choice when staying with us. We strongly recommend that guests visiting us in the winter rent an AWD vehicle.

The apartment was spotless and the decor adorable. The view from the front was beautiful and shows once again how vast Alaska is. The extra special perks were much appreciated, homemade bread, raspberry jam, sweet cream butter. Thanks for the comfortable place to stay.

Everything about this listing is nothing short of exceptional. The view(!), the amenities, the goodies from the hosts, etc. were all exceptional. It's clear that Tim and Stacie take pride in providing an outstanding experience for their guests. The value for the money is (here's that word again) exceptional. In the event of a power failure, they even have a generator so your vacation is not impacted. Everything you can imagine is provided and then some. It was truly an (OK, one last time for this word) exceptional experience. It is no wonder this listing is booked every.single.night. Better reserve early or you will miss out.

Birchwood Suite was everything I expected and more! it is impeccably clean, comfortable and a "home away from home". It was such a pleasure to go out exploring during the day and come back home to such a comfortable space! The couch is comfy and the bed is great -- not something always true at vrbo's and hotels... and having a washer and dryer is definitely a plus when traveling. Tim & Stacie were always just a phone call away if we had any questions. We were able to see the aurora borealis one night a tiny bit but only thru our camera. However, we knew that might happen because it was the very beginning of the season. We drove up to Murphy Dome one night but had easier, shorter drive up Spinach Rd with large area on top of the ridge with no other cars around us. The Gold Dredge tour and the Riverboat are well worth the money and our favorite restaurant was The Cookie Jar. Birchwood Suite is a lovely place to stay and we highly recommend it!!!

The space was perfect for our needs and thoughtful touches throughout made our stay even better. We enjoyed being outside of town. The property was gorgeous and well kept with gardens, a lawn, and beautiful flowers. The family was charming and easy to communicate with before and during our stay.

Such a great spot!

We were grateful that it was not far from the air force base. We got to go to an air show during our stay. The accommodations were just what we were looking for.

I loved the location of this property. It was far enough from the city to enjoy nature but not so far as to make it inconvenient. It was so close to Murphy Dome to enjoy the beautiful views from the top. The inside of the space was beautiful and clean and everything functioned properly. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We absolutely loved our stay. The location and views were perfect. Great spot to check out the northern lights. Tim and Stacie were excellent hosts and we really appreciated the little extras (fresh flowers, eggs and delicious homemade jams)

Excellent Lodging, Excellent Hosts!

We had a great time at Birchwood Suite! It was perfect for my wife and I. The location and landscaping and tiered gardens were very scenic. And, as an added bonus, the fruits and vegetables were available to us for picking. Tim and Stacie were excellent hosts!
