Our family had the best stay; we hope to make Pacific Beach and this home an annual trip. The kitchen was well stocked, the owner had someone out the next morning to help with the hot tub; our family was comfortable and enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
Absolutely cozy house on the beach that feels like home away from home. My family has now booked the Love Shack four times, and every time it's been more fun than the last. I especially loved the updates made in the last few years to the beautiful bathroom and the addition of the hot tub. This year we had an exceptionally fun time making the short drive (3 minutes) to Seabrook, where we were able to shop at their fine grocery store, visit the booths at their Saturday market, and explore the gorgeous Gnome trail.
Had an amazing time at Loveshack with family for a little getaway to the beach. The heater was broken and got fixed very quickly thanks to the host. We will definitely be back again. It had everything we needed.
My children and I came to spread my dad a stepmothers ashes because Pacific Beach was their favorite place to stay. The house was cute and spacious. The hot tub was Luke warm, we gad to turn it up and a step on the stairs broke getting in. Never could find the owners manual or the outdoor garbage can, but did the best we could. Did try to take a bath several times, but only enough water for a couple inches. I would stay again, with a couple suggestions.
We had an amazing time! Kids loved it, we loved it! Such a great job on stocking the house with everything you might need to cook, I was super impressed!!!Only thing, the check in directions said there was a book for quest with check out procedures. We couldn't find any book, I hope we did okay shutting it down. We started a load of towels, the dishwasher, stripped the beds and took out the garbage, Made sure the heat was turned down to 50 and the house locked up.We LOVED our stay want to come back this summer! Thanks so much!
Reading former reviews, hosts have improved much, and is a very pleasant place to stay if youâre ok with older/rustic beach cabin. We loved it. Communication was off. Booked asking for tips on clamming. (Never been.) No response. First day question about turning off hot tub at night (next to a bedroom window), and got a polite response that didnât work. Turns out, didnât wake the occupant anyways, soâŠSent about 4 more messages covering various things: Hot-tub was dirty/sandy until we put more water in to reach the filtration (On front porch so no privacy.); as of today, still havenât heard anything from hosts. (Hope they are ok.); neighborhood being trolled by people looking for empty homes to fill their garbage cans (Ours was filled when we arrived, then garbage took the cans away the day before we left, didnât replace them, so had to leave garbage in inside canister.). The street was fairly busy with trucks and camping trailers, as it is the main entrance to a state park. We believe the unit behind the cabin is also available with the booking, but never used it with only us there. All-and-all it was a very pleasant stay for us. If you get a chance, the Ocean Crest Resort restaraunt was amazing! Not cheap but very worth it. The library in Ocean Shores was also nice. Good selection.
Overall the trip was great, stay was just okay. The location is fantastic (walking distance to everything you need...beach, coffee, etc.) however I felt like the space needs TLC especially given we paid (in total) 787.00 for 2 nights. Pros: Location, very dog-friendly, appreciated the doggy gate on the deck, lots of space and well stocked kitchen with appliances, spices, etc. Comfortable beds and tempCons: Poor communication, instructions didn't match what was sent, and hot tub wasn't usable:- for check in, were told it was a lock box with a key and the code given was actually for a digital pad on the door (even though there is a still lockbox hanging and we messed with that in the dark until we realized it was on the door)- host took 2 days to respond to a late check-out request which we didn't use as we never heard back until about an hour before actual checkout - the hot tub was a huge bummer as we didn't get to use it (my husband did once but it wasn't enjoyable and it's one of the reasons we booked this space). The timer wasn't set to the correct time, so we fixed that and switched it to the #2 thermostat setting and it wouldn't stay on, looks like due to very low water level â just a constant loud suction sound with no temperature change other than to 98/99. There were no instructions anywhere (the check-in instructions said there would be an owners manual somewhere yet we looked everywhere and couldn't find it). - 4 lightbulbs didn't work in lamps
Check-in was a bit of a challenge as we'd been given the wrong keypad code, but the owner was quick to respond & get us in the door. House was perfect for our needs, and served us well despite the unexpected (extreme!) weather conditions.
We loved this cozy home so much! Clean and well equipped. Close to the beach and cute as can be. The owner was VERY helpful and responded quickly to questions. The love shack is the place to be and we canât wait to go back!
Let me preface by saying I honestly didn't want to write a negative review. I gave Keri an opportunity to make it right. My huge concerns were dismissed because she "was busy checking two other families in."
We had to run back from a nice dinner to the house to grab shoes (thank GOD) and there were people on our front porch knocking and looking in the windows asking how to stay here. My kids were scared and we were extremely uncomfortable. Then, when we went in to get the shoes, our back door (which was not touched the ENTIRE trip) was wide open. Do you have ANY idea how that makes us feel? Our belongings could've been stolen; our dogs could've ran away. Someone could've been in there waiting to harm us.
We checked into this home uncleaned! Literally found shorts in our bed. How would you feel getting into a bed with someone elseâs shorts at your feet?
When the cleaners finally came the next day (unannounced) they seemed so terribly high that I actually asked them to leave and reminded them I can change the sheets myself. They proceeded to clean and it made us extremely uncomfortable. They went back and forth on the laundry saying they will do it, they wonât, they will change the bed, they wonât. They didnât know up from down, okay. The guy was POURING sweat and the lady was all over the place. We wanted to leave. Our baby was napping and they refused to âstop cleaningâ saying we âdeserveâ to have a clean microwave. They left some dish wash soap for us which we did request but also left a washer, dryer full and so we spent hours of our own vacation doing the previous customers' sheets, bedding, dishes, floor and toilets. The ashtray was full and stunk.
Iâm telling you, this was all very, very unacceptable. Not only for sanity reasons, but for SAFETY and SANITARY reasons.
This little house made a great weekend getaway. It was comfy enough to lounge around reading on a rainy day, and a well placed base to explore the area from on the sunny days. We ate at a nice little restaurant served by friendly locals. We give it one less star because we had some confusion getting in: the email said the code was for the key lockbox, which didn't work. In fact, there is a keypad that's used now. Also, we couldn't find the owner's manual, which presumably told us how to work the hot tub, which we couldn't figure out.
We recently stayed here over Thanksgiving and had an amazing time. The property is a 3 minute walk to the beach. On the cold winter days the hot tub was a perfect way to warm back up. Pacific Beach is a cute little quiet town. When we were leaving all my family asked when we could come back. I would definitely stay here again.
