Reserving and check in was a breeze. Great contact with the owner. Emails clearly laid out our responsibilities as renters. There were a couple of issues with the main entry door, but the property manager took care of it in a timely manner. We plan on coming back next year with more of our family.
Just as cozy as we remembered it. We had two family members that had not been there before and they were impressed. The cabin was cozy and the location on the river itself gave quick access to Mullet lake and the city of Cheboyhan. Was a bit windy for the river tour (Mullet is known for the big swells during high winds, but the river fishing was amazing).
Already looking forward to next year's trip. Possibly in the Spring.
This property ended up to be previously owned by my Aunt &Uncle and I stayed there as a teenager. I knew there was something about it that brought back memories of 50 years ago. My husband and had a relaxing Labor Day weekend; even after walking the Mackinaw Bridge.
Very spacious and comfortable, even in the sweltering heat the owners left plenty of fans for us to use. We took the boat to the beach or sightseeing up & down the Inland Waterway as well as out in the big lake for Salmon fishing.
We had an amazing time and the Cheboygan River! The house was well equipped, we did have a few issues and the owners took care of the issues in a very timely manner. The location was absolutely perfect! Hope to come back next yearđ
We booked this cabin solely due to the fact that it could accommodate our 29ft boat right at the dock for the entire week. The dock was great and the kids swam daily off the end of it too...a little mucky but no weeds. There was a kayak in the garage that we played with in the river as well. It's the perfect location...5min by car to town or 10min by boat to Mullet Lake. The cabin itself was well stocked and beds were comfy. It was much bigger than we expected which was great. It has newer kitchen appliances and it's so nice to have a washer/dryer when on a boating vacation. It could definitely use a good deep cleaning throughout but that's not enough to stop us from renting again next summer! We had a great time. Thanks!
We all enjoyed our stay at Harvey & Jane's Cheboygan Riverfront home!! The house and property are lovely, lots of trees, a pond, and plenty of wildlife. Harvey was very easy to reach - he called to make sure we arrived and got in okay, and called again after our stay to see if we had a good time. The riverfront location was great - just a couple of minutes to Mullett Lake. The weather cooperated and we had seven days of sunshine. Can't ask for more. Thanks so much for sharing your home - we'd love to come back again!!
Very clean with fully stocked kitchen. Sturdy dock for easy access to our boat. Comfortable outdoor table and chairs with shade umbrella. Great location on the Cheboygan river.
Very friendly owners , and neighbor . The dock was a great place for our two boats . We had great weather did a lot of boat day trips , fishing , and playing lawn games. It was a great place to stay .
Could not believe how much space there was in this house! Plenty of room to move around without being on top of each other. The view of the lake can clearly been seen from the backyard. We enjoyed a couple of nights having a fire in the bonfire pit, and on those rainy nights, playing cards at the big dining room table. This property is truly a great place for family vacations.
We had a good time with our children and small grandchildren in this house - the layout of the bedrooms and baths allowed Gramma & Grampa privacy when we needed it. All one level so the youngest (and oldest) didn't have trouble getting around. Our only complaints were small bathrooms & dim lighting in the common areas. Owner provided two-wheelers and trikes - and he was right - our 5-year-old learned to ride without training wheels on this trip, thanks to the large, smooth oval driveway. Thanks for some wonderful memories!
The grounds around this cottage are impressive. We saw deer, wild turkey, chipmunks, muskrats, frogs, turtles, ducks and geese. The river dock provided a safe harbor for our boat.
We rented this property so we could fish Mullett Lake. The setting was very nice and the river docking made it easy to get on and off the water. Owners were very nice.
The house was clean and the location was perfect. The washer and dryer was a plus with the grandkids, the dinning room table size was perfect for UNO, the river sandy bottom was great for the kids for swimming.
We are already planning for next year!
The cottage was very adequate for our needs. We wanted a place to stay while fishing Mullett Lake. Other than the carpets it was clean. The owners communicated directly with us and were available for questions. We would definitely rent it again if we ever decide to fish Mullett Lake again.
this is a extremely great value for anyone looking for a week of relaxing vacation. the pictures on the site do not do it justice. we have a family of 6 and had plenty of room to enjoy our self's, the kids enjoyed riding bikes on the large private and paved driveway, as well as the beach access and the large dock the we spent a lot of time on fishing. Bottom line great place.
Jane and Wes make sure you are well taken care of. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the whole family. Large dock system to accommodate two large boats and kayaks. Kids can swim at the end of the dock in a deep hole on the Cheboygan River. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook just about anything including a charcoal grill in the detached garage. 35 minutes by water to Cheboygan and less than 10 minutes to Mullett Lake. Plenty of parking for all your boat trailers on huge lot with oval driveway...no backing in those large boat trailers. We have rented 2 times and are booking our 3rd for 2016. It would not let me go back to the dates we stayed...they were first week in August of 2012 and second week in July of 2014.
We were very happy with the house, so private and lots of yard. Right close to Mullet Lake and Lake Huron. We brought out pontoon, so never really checked out the beach. Did go to the river mouth on Saturday to see the band that plays on the barge, and went through the locks and out to Lake Huron and because the water was calm, went over to Bois Blanc Island. Lots of room inside, beds were very comfortable, and 2 baths with showers. Kitchen full of all necessities and the all important "ice maker" (so important for boating). The dock was great, even saw a heron on it. Owner was easily accessible by phone. Gosh, we had fun there! Would really be perfect if they accepted dogs, but obviously, that didn't stop us. Left our dog with a good sitter.
