Lovely, "off the beaten path" property with pond and separate screened in porch. Kitchen was well appointed with dishes, silverware, etc. Window a/c units worked well and were a blessing as it was in the 90's the first few days of our stay. I wouldn't recommend the upstairs bedroom with the two beds for adults. Beds are small and very "squeaky" and there are not adequate nightstands or furniture to store clothes and other items. Downstairs main suite is very nice! We were out and about during the day but enjoyed our evenings at the house! Kate was very responsive to emails prior to our visit and one time during our stay.
We had a great time! It was perfectly located to everything we wanted to do. Acadia, Belfast and sandy point beach. Everyone had space! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at home! The outside porch was really fun!
This was a lovely eclectic home. The photos donât do it justice. It was comfortable, warm and inviting and had everything we needed plus lots of movies, games, stuff for the kids. Best stocked kitchen Iâve ever seen in a rental. Location was central to Belfast/Camden area to the âsouthâ as well as a short 30 minute drive to Blue Hill and on to Acadia if youâd like. Cute little sandy beach just down the road.Owners responded quickly and check in/out was seamless.Highly recommend!
Great stay - convenient to many coastal sights. Good grocery store about 8 minutes away. Comfortable beds and furniture. Well stocked kitchen and home. Lots of books, games and puzzles. Property was beautiful with many flowers in bloom. We enjoyed the screened in shelter by the pond. Owner responded quickly to questions and was very helpful. Highly recommend !
Love the area of Stockton Springs , 3rd year staying near Sandy Point, love the quiet peaceful neighborhood, great location for exploring up and down the coast, hiking on Cadillac Mt & Mt Batty , kayaked in Stonington, oyster farm in Edgecomb , and of course Youngâs Lobster Pound the best in ME
We all loved the house and yards! The photographer found much to be photographed. The chefs concocted some delicious food in the large kitchen! The large bathtub was a hit for one (I think she used it daily). I love rural or country life, so having a bit of a drive any where is perfect especially when the country side is unspoiled, has such beautiful plants, gardens and flowers , and the homes are colorful. We all agreed we had a wonderful week of family time and the house was perfect!
One issue was resolved in a timely fashion and we didnât miss a beat!
The location was perfect for us to enjoy our day trips along the Maine coast line & small villages.
This location is perfect if you enjoy solitude & nature in the evening.
The home and property are just lovely - I wish we had enough time to fully utilize it all! We visited for a wedding at Frenchâs Point and it happened in the midst of a storm which knocked out power in the entire area for half a day. The host was so helpful and supportive in making sure we were well informed and in case we needed anything. If we are ever back in this beautiful area, we would definitely stay here again! Thank you!!
Comfortable stay. Very warm but fans and upstairs window air conditioner definitely helped. Enjoyed proximity to Sandy point beach and coastal attractions
We were 3 adults and 4 children, ages 11 - 5. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out if necessary. There were plenty of books and toys for all. A nice selection of books about the local communities. The kitchen was well appointed. There is nothing missing... The trundle beds, upstairs, were a big hit with the kids. The master bedroom with an ensuite, is lovely.
Sandy Point Beach is a short distance from the house. It is an inlet for the Penobscot River. No big waves and shallow, at low tide, for the younger swimmers. The beach is not sandy, so bring your water shoes. You can see the Penobscot Narrows bridge from the beach. It is an impressive sight. Be sure to visit Fort Knox and the Observatory. Warren's restaurant was delicious. Highly recommended.
On a personal note, be sure to visit a couple of stores; Reny's in Belfast and Marden's in Ellsworth. Two of my very favorites'
Overall, it was a wonderful vacation and one we will remember years to come!
It was the best Vrbo we have ever stayed in. The layout was good for us as the sleeping room were not all on top of each other. The host gave wonderful info about local things to see, where shopping was located, and distances to places. The amenities were great and we didn't need anything that wasn't provided. We enjoyed the week and had a wonderful time. The beach was great for kids.
We had a family wedding at The French's Point which was like 3 minutes by car from this rental. The house was perfect for my family. I love the outside. Also we had a problem with one of the bathrooms and the owner was able to take care of it within an hour. Highly recommend this rental
We came to Maine to experience the life along Maineâs coast- we picked this VRBO because of price, location, and the beauty of the home - the owner responded to our textâs quickly - we had no big issues with the property- and the handbook and emailâs explained everything we needed to know. Was a wonderful trip- we went to Bucksport, Belfast, Camden and Acadia National Park.
We loved this quaint home with a rich history. It was quiet and clean. We appreciated the fans to keep us cool at night and enjoyed our stay very much!
Cute house. The decor was eclectic and beautiful. Such a fun house to stay in. Plenty of space to spread out and have lots of beds. Beautiful property and lots of wild flowers. Very relaxing. Kate was quick to respond the one time we needed her.
Cottage was perfect for a family of 6 adults. Plenty of room for sleeping and eating dinners together. It was nice to have three bathrooms also. The cottage is in a very quiet peaceful location. There are many things to do close by and not too far from Bar Harbor. We enjoyed our stay!
Very nice property, very well stocked and clean. We really didn`t have to buy a thing except for our food. My 5 year old grandson loved playing with all the toys provided. Loved the wild gardens in the front. Didn't sit outside too much due to the mosquitos, but I read something about an outdoor screened in area being built. We had someone in a wheelchair with us and after pulling her up the 4 wooden front stairs she was able to access the entire downstairs which is appreciated as it is very difficult to find a house able to somewhat accommodate someone in a wheelchair even though this property is not listed as handicapped accessible, we`ve learned to make due with what is available. The bathroom in the downstairs bedroom was very large and she was also able to access that which is extremely appreciated. From this house we were able to visit Bangor, Belfast, Bar Harbor, Acadia, Bucksport and Sandy Point beach.
This is a beautiful, well maintained house with an updated an FULLY stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our group of 8 people. The hosts were also incredible thoughtful and welcoming. The house is full of toys, games, and items you might need, like bug spray.
