Kitchen was fully equipped. Comfortable sleeping, very safe. Could walk from rail trail to town, which is a beautiful walk. Mouse problems but not unusual for this time of year. We were woken up by mice and mouse traps going off
Great property. Kitchen was well equipped and appliances were all in great shape. Loved the Maine cabin feeling. The whole property was very welcoming and comfortable. Water view wasnât as good as pictured, but owner said the trees had grown up over the past year, and due to restrictions on wetlands, could not be removed until permitting was approved. This did not take away from the property, and it was a short walk to a city path which was a well used gravel path into downtown Belfast. About a mile walk. Views of the river from the path were awesome.
This cabin is practically new, very clean and super-well-equipped. The host was next door and attentive. We come to Maine every year and this property was the best we've ever occupied. Highly recommended!!!
A lovely cabin but no real water view unless at dock. Dock is totally accessible for an able body! Harbor walk is behind home and just fabulousâŠ.right into town!! We had a bump in the road with wet, smelly towels but response was immediate to correct!!! Well equipped kitchen!! Would recommend this cabin but listing should be updated to present view which is blocked by foliage and explain dock is a small hike and not for those who may not have great mobility.
Loved the privacy and location of this house. It was perfect for us and our son who stayed with us for several days. The outdoor space was enjoyable for dining and lawn games. Loved early morning walks on the Rail Path and sunny afternoons on the dock. Only a short walk to downtown Belfast for shopping and eating. Enjoyed a day trip to Fort Knox and the Bridge tower and to Camden.
What a wonderful setting and place, just a little walk through a summer meadow from the rail trail and river, and a short walk or bike ride into Belfast. Jon's cottage (he built it!) is perfect - airy, comfortable and well equipped. We saw multiple eagles, a variety of songbirds, a loon and more. A perfect getaway any time of the year, and a lovely base to take in all the beauty of Maine.
It was a charming cottage in dreamy surroundings! We loved our week in the very comfy cabin with great kitchen, dock with kayaks, beautiful grounds and flowers, and trail into town to see the shipyard, sailboats, and quaint Main Street. It was also great fun to have our dog with us and throw the frisbee on the expansive lawn.
This was the cutest cottage for our first trip to Maine! We loved taking our dog for walks on the trails behind the house. There was plenty of wildlife and beauty right behind the house. This was the best place for birdwatching! We could hear the loons from our window at night, and we saw them in the lake a few times. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had everything we needed for cooking dinners. The host, Jon, was quick to respond to our questions and made the whole stay seamless with his kindness and hospitality. Belfast is a wonderful town with shops and views of the river. We preferred it compared to more crowded places like Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again!
My husband, dog, and I stayed there for a few days in early May. The weather wasnât that great but thatâs not the host problem. The home though was not what we expected, nor was there any communication about check-in and checkout, and or where the proper appliances were and/or the garbage disposal. We discovered that all on our own. What I had read in the comments, it sounded great however there wasnât sufficient paper products (I.e. Paper towel towels/toilet paper). I was smart enough to bring a roll of paper towels, and when we stopped at the local grocery store and picked up two rolls of toilet paper. On the website, it says that they were sufficient in the kitchen and had a lobster pot. Well guess what someone took their lobster pot because itâs wasnât there. We went to Youngâs Lobster pound and had them cook our lobster and brought it back with us.All in all the place wasnât very clean and the couch was not comfortable whatsoever. I had to actually sit on a pillow for support. The home needs some updates. But it is a great location, but be aware of the pictures are deceiving.
The cottage was cozy and had everything I needed. The walking path was great for me and my dog. The sunsets were fantastic and my stay great even though it rained most of the time.
Great cozy cottage, right on the Belfast railtrail. You can have an easy walk into town or out to the headwaters of the river. The cottage had everything we needed, cooking supplies, full kitchen, laundry and wifi access. Our host wasGracious, communicative and flexible. Thank you Jon! Hope to be back. gracious, communicative and flexible. Thank you for
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had all we needed and the radiant heat in the floor was a plus!
We enjoyed the town and plan to return in the future ! Thanks Jon !
Perfect for our anniversary trip. We loved walking into town on the rail trail under the fall leaves. Quiet, beautiful and peaceful. Kitchen was the most well stocked out any rental we have ever stayed in. Had literally everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend!
Excellent small cottage located just outside of Belfast downtown in quiet area. It includes everything to make your stay enjoyable. Host is responsive and communicates well.
