We enjoyed our stay at the Millstone Cottage very much! It was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The location within walking distance to shops and restaurants was ideal. This was a perfect home base for our visit to bourbon country.
Very charming colonial home, in a great location that is within walking distance to everything in the cute downtown Bardstown. The home was easily accessed, very clean and well equipped. The only thing I would say is it would be nice for you to know that the one and only bathroom is accessed in the master bedroom, so if 2 couples stay, there is not much privacy. That said, I would stay there as a couple or family anytime, the accomodations are well worth it. Broadway is a main street and heavily traveled but property managers have you covered, providing ear plugs & eye mask if you need it.
Very charming place. Walking distance to everything, place was immaculate and my family had such a great time touring Bardstown. Host is so gracious and easy to work with. Absolutely would stay here again. My guys loved it!!
Charming cottage a short walk from all Bardstown has to offer!
The cottage is a short walk from downtown Bardstown. We walked to dinner every night after a day of touring distilleries. Most of the distilleries we visited were a 5-10 minute drive. There were many unique stores to shop at downtown as well. The cottage was clean, cozy, thoughtfully arranged, and beautifully decorated. We appreciated being able to adjust the thermostat, as it was in the 90s with high humidity during our stay. Although we didnât use the kitchen except for coffee and a small breakfast, it was spacious and well stocked in terms of dishes and appliances. The queen bed was comfortable and the couch (where we both ended up napping on separate afternoons) was comfy too. There was ample dresser and closet space for our long weekend stay and the luggage racks were a welcome touch. The bathroom is very large with great water pressure in the shower and more than enough hot water to fill the soaking tub (I didnât try the jets, but the tub does come equipped with them). The backyard was a nice space, though due to the heat/humidity we didnât spend much time out there. The front porch was a lovely spot to have your morning coffee and watch the town wake up. Overall we were very impressed with the cottage, had a lovely stay in Bardstown, and canât wait to plan another trip.
My wife and I came for a few days to explore the bourbon trail, and the cottage was a great place to stay. The location is close enough to walk to restaurants and shops downtown. This is an old house, but it has been renovated and transformed into a very clean and comfortable place to stay. The owners are helpful and provide recommendations for things to do and see while in town. I would definitely stay here again.
Great location! So close to downtown. Such a beautiful neighborhood, enjoyed walking around and managed to stumble across the oldest paved road In Kentucky! Enjoyed having coffee and drinks on the front porch. Visited many distilleries. Would definitely stay again!
This house was amazing. Perfect location to all the shops, restaurants and bars. My husband and I are already talking about how we would love to go back.
Husband and I enjoyed our stay at Millstone Cottage. Very clean and nicely decorated, really nice kitchen. Enjoyed front porch and backyard. Have to go through bedrooms to get to kitchen and bath, but that was not a problem. Great location, can walk to shops and restaurants.
Very clean and comfortable! Well equipped kitchen, recently remodeled with new appliances. Great location with an easy walk to all downtown shops, restaurants and the Civil War Museum.
This is an older house. We enjoyed it. There are little quirks and noises in the house. The parking is on the street and can get busy but we didnât have any trouble. We enjoyed the porch with the chairs and I had coffee out back one morning.
We had a good time. The listing did not make it clear that the rooms were not actually individual rooms. You had to walk through both bed rooms to get from the front room to the kitchen. There weren't really doors on the bedrooms. I'm glad it was just family for that reason
Property exactly as described. Everything you could possibly need is provided. It is the perfect location for downtown access. Not too far to walk yet far enough off the main road for quiet evenings. We definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!
Hello, I am Margaret Sue Masters and I along with my husband, Michael, known as "The Colonel" have revived and restored 4 private cottages for vacation rentals in downtown Historic Bardstown. Millstone cottage was the 2nd property we restored. In 2004 we purchased the Chapeze House, circa 1787, downtown off the court square. In 2010 we converted the property into the Kentucky Bourbon House, a Bourtque Hotel with charming private suites. We alos conduct in the Bourbon Bar 2 Bourbon Classes; Bourbon University and Bourbon Mixology twice daily Mon-Sat. We also host intimate wedding ceremonies and elopement packages in the elegant parlor or the formal garden that makes up the back yard. Come and experience our "Hospitality Kentucky Style"......
My husband and I bought this cottage in 2000 and spent 6 months restoring it. In the early 1900's this cottage was next door to a grist mill. There are 3 grist millstones still located on the property, hence the name "Millstone Cottage". Millstone Cottage sits on Broadway, one of the most charming streets in Historic Bardstown. The tree lined street has some of the best examples of architecture in the town. There is a barn in the back of the property and it had horses that were boarded there in the 1950's.
Millstone Cottage has all the advantages of being located 2 blocks from downtown without all of the street and traffic noise that comes with being downtown. Millstone Cottage is on Broadway which is a very quiet residential street. Sip our Bourbon Coffee on the front porch as you watch the people of this wonderful town walk by. Relax in the evening with your favortie cocktail on the back patio under the twinkle lights
