L'appartement a 15 ans et se trouve dans une rue calme très proche de l'Acropole et des quartiers de Plaka d'Athènes - vous pouvez y aller à pied en 20 minutes. Il est à proximité des stations de Petralona et Thissio trains (partie des métro d'Athènes -15 mn à pied) et à côté de l'arrêt de bus qui vous emmène à Omonia et Syntagma Square. Le bâtiment ne compte que 3 appartements et est situé sur une colline (pente ouest de la colline de Phillopapou) avec une vue agréable. Les zones Acropole et de Plaka sont une promenade facile et il ya de petites tavernes et autres boutiques dans le quartier. Il est au 2ème étage donnant sur un parc et dispose d'un ascenseur. Il est entièrement meublé avec des meubles modernes et la cuisine est entièrement équipée.

Maria the caregiver was great. They had basic items needed for couple days like toilet and paper towel, coffee, etc. Markets and restaurant all walking distance. Recommend the restaurant across the street from the balcony.

Very comfortable apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Many amenities, shops, supermarket, cafes and restaurants. The apartment was very clean, plenty of room, lovely balcony across the street from a school. There is a pedestrian walkway taking you to the Acropolis, Monasteraki and Plaka. The apartment is as advertised, easy and quick communication with the owner. I've been to Athens many times and I highly recommend this location.

Beautiful apartment in ideal area

This lovely apartment is 2 minutes walk from wonderful restaurants and bars and about 15 to 20 minutes away from the acropolis on foot. It is well-located for train travel, too. We would highly recommend it.

Great place to stay in Athens!

We had a great time in Zois apartment. Maria and her son met us and showed us around, Zois arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport. The neighborhood is great, walkable, lots of restaurants, a super market close by. Over the hill is the acropolis and all the tourist action which allows you to combine a more authentic neighborhood and tourism easily.

Nice stay for Easter at Zois'

The appartement is confortable at a 15-20 minutes walk from the Akropolis. All is quite new and clean. The terrasse is very enjoyable for breakfast. A grocery, a bar and a restaurant are very close to the appartement. Welcome by Zois and Maria was very good. Much appreciated!

A month in history

Our stay could not have been better. After many years of visiting Athens in various locations and times of the year I've finally got it about right. This location is not the center for tourists, about 15 or 20 walk to the Acropolis Museum, but it is a fine quiet residential neighborhood with local cafes and 'normal' prices. Just several hundred meters from the Pnyx, the Bema and Fillapappos Hill. The huge second floor balcony looking into the park made every meal fabulous... on and on..

Don't second guess yourself, book this awesome apartment for your vacation in Athens!!! My wife and I had a lovely stay here from start to finish. The owner Zios was kind enough to schedule a taxi for us from the airport which made it stress free for our first time visiting Greece. Upon arrival, Maria the cleaning lady was there to greet us, show us around the apartment, and hand over the keys. The apartment is just a short walk away to all the sights and sounds. It was nice coming back to a quiet neighborhood at the end of the day. We highly recommend the Valitsa restaurant, its a yellow tavern around the corner from the apartment. The food is authentic and to die for!

Visiting relatives in Athens

This was a great apartment! I had constant contact with the owner and the description of the apartment was exactly as I found it. The walk to and from the train in Petralona was very doable and I never felt unsafe walking alone even after dark. This allowed me to take public transportation when meeting relatives on a daily basis or getting into the old town area to see the sites without having to take a taxi everywhere. Each morning I went out for a 40-50 minute exercise walk and could walk to the Akropolis area safely and easily. Loved being there and having all the space and amenities of home.

Perfect place to stay for so many reasons!

This place was so good for our family! Location was incredible—10 min walk from the acropolis area, parks, museums…all there. The local restaurants were so good we kept eating in the neighborhood—not one bad meal! Groceries are right there, coffee shops and whatever else you’re looking for! The triplex that the suite is situated is in great and the other owners are very friendly. The suite itself is as advertised…simple but very nice. Quiet inside, not so much on the balcony due to the kids and the traffic. The owner’s assistant, Marie, is incredible. There was nothing negative to disclose. I’d go back for sure.

A lovely apartment in a great location for seeing the sights of Athens.

The apartment was in a great location just two Metro stops from Monastraki Square (it was a 5 minute walk from the apartment to the Metro). Communication with Zois was excellent from the moment we booked and the additional information document he provided was extremely useful indeed. The check in with Maria also went smoothly too and she was there to meet us and check us out. The apartment itself was very clean and well equipped and accessible within walking distance of the Acropolis. The local area was very quiet, with the only downside being that a few local amenities were closed due to the bank holiday, but that was simply the timing of our visit in mid August. We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment and Athens were great. Thank you Zois (and Maria)!

Clean apartment; great neighborhood

The apartment was exactly as described-very clean and good neighborhood. Lots of good restaurants, coffee and grocery stores within 10 minute walk and key sites within 20-25 minute walk. Beds were comfortable. Washing machine was very helpful to have (and clothes lines were set up and easily accessible outside bedrooms). Zois was very responsive and Maria (caretaker) was very nice and the apartment was very clean. The AC was needed and worked perfectly. The park across the street has turtles and we really enjoyed seeing them eating in the morning as we walked to Parthenon or the montastiraki markets (their food bowls are near the fence and someone feeds them there). The price was very reasonable for the apartment.

Bright, beautiful, large apartment conveniently located to many sites by foot as well as the Metro

We rented the apartment for 10 nights to use as our home base for our days in Athens as well as 3 overnights out of the area. The location and price made this decision a great one. The beds are firm, and the main living area as well as the two bedrooms are air conditioned. Huge balcony made breakfast and evenings at the house special. The washing machine made for a great convenience (we saw no laundromats and only found 1 listed far away), and there was plenty of lines to hang clothes. Market is a few blocks away and open until 9:00 PM. Plenty of restaurants nearby for lengthy dining or a quick bite. Continue walking up the hill on the street and you get to the back way of Hill of the Nymphs where the observatory and extensive ruins are located at top, and you can continue over to the Acropolis. Conversely, go down the hill and over a few blocks to get to the Metro stop, which is very near the center of Athens. The only drawback we found is you get one set of keys and need them to lock yourself out of both the apartment and the apartment building, and then need to lock yourself in the building (there is a deadbolt you can use on the apartment door that does not require a key). One day , I wanted to nap and my husband was up for looking around but we both agreed it would not be a good idea for me to be locked in the building. Indeed several days later an apartment alarm had gone off (false alarm -- we vacated the building and the alarm soon turned off and we saw no one else), but I can't imagine having been there by myself and not being able to get out the front door. The neighborhood is enough off the beaten path to provide an authentic experience of an urban Greek neighborhood, but close enough to the action of central Athens. We felt like in selecting this apartment we had hit the jackpot!

Re the matter with the keys and locking the building front door when you are inside the other 2 owners in the building wanted this rule as a security measure to prevent anyone breaking in.A second set of keys is available on request and its a shame that you did not ask us for them. Nice appartment, ideally located.

We are a family with two children (8 and 14) and stayed for 3 nights at the appartment. The appartment is well located, we made almost everything on foot. The location is calm (for Athens). If you sit on the balcony you can hear the traffic from the road nearby, but it is not a main road and the noise is bearable (The crickets are loud to). Keep in mind that you are in a capital! Because of the mosquitos we kept all windows closed in the evening and during the night. The two sleeping rooms (one with a double bed and one with two single beds) and bathroom are at the back and there is also a door to this quarter, so during the night it is really calm. Up the street is the entrance to the park where you have a fine view at the acropolis and where it is very pleasing to sit in the evening (don't forget the mosquito repellent). For families with little children: There is a small gap in the balustrade on the right side to the wall. I informed the owner that a little child could easily fall through this gap. The owner was very alert and willing to close this gap as soon as possible so it shouldn't be a problem. A bakery is in 5 min on foot and a supermarket is in 10min on foot (the one nearby had closed his doors). We don't know about restaurants in the proximity because in the evening we ate at the appartment. We definetely recommend the appartment. One more tip for families: As you surely intend to visit the acropolis and the agora, you might be tented in buying the combined ticket giving access to 7 different sites (more or less interesting sites and except the acropole museum). Children from EU-citizens up to 18 years-old are free. There are no combined tickets for children, so you will have to queue to get the so-called zero-tickets (0 Euro) for each child and entrance. If the children are old enough they can go themselves to get these tickets but be prepared to show an ID with their age. Thats all. Enjoy Athens and the greek people. Dear Jurgen , Thanks for your review and recommendation and constructive comments.Re your point about the gap in the balustrade I have already commissioned a tradesman to close it for extra safety (its 20 centimeters wide). The local supermarket which is 5 mins walk away has re opened after it was closed for extensive renovations so that is handy.The mosquitoes are not normally a problem as the apartment is high on the side of a hill but possibly is as a result of recent summer rains in the area which as you mentioned has lots of parkland. Appartement très confortable dans un quartier animé et sans touristes. Toutes les commodités à proximité. 10 minutes à pied de Monastiraki et accès immédiat à la colline de Philopapou et sa vue imprenable sur l'Acropole

I bought the property as a home for me and my family because it is in my view an excellent location in Athens close to all amenities and historical sites yet quiet like a village.If like me you enjoy walking and exploring its a great spot from which to get to know one of the oldest areas of Athens near Thissio on the slopes of Philopappou hill from where you can get the most beautiful view of ancient and modern Athens.
During the summer months I like to attend a concert or theater in the beautiful Herodion Theater - it is a memorable experience under the stars not to be missed.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Its a traditional unspoiled location retaining many traditional features of an Athenian neighborhood. People here are friendly and the pace is a little slower.There are excellent tavernas,cafes and tsipouradika in nearby Troon St. where you can enjoy traditional Greek food at reasonable prices.The train stations Petralona or Thissio are nearby and can take you to most places in Athens including Athens airport and Piraeus port.
